Chapter 633: Get Out, OK? 9
Annabelle Linton’s lips twitched. "Leona Grant, that’s your sister..."
’To think he’d say his own sister’s sexual orientation wasn’t normal...’
Leona Grant was unfazed. "So what if she’s my sister? In the end, she’ll marry someone else and become another man’s wife. It’s just like your brother. You doted on him for all those years, and didn’t he just up and leave when he felt like it? When all is said and done, you only have me. It’s the same for me. After spoiling her for so many years, she’ll eventually marry someone else, and I’ll only have you. That’s why we have to cherish each other, you know?"
’...At least siblings are related by blood. If we get divorced, we’ll be nothing to each other.’
But Annabelle Linton didn’t dare say that out loud. He would definitely throw a fit if she did.
Annabelle Linton was speechless. "You’re so heartless."
Leona Grant was unfazed. "She’ll have her own husband in the future. It’s not like she’ll be with me forever, so why should I worry about her? Only my wife will be with me for life."
"..." She was actually speechless.
The thing about Leona Grant was that he just didn’t know how to express himself. He might seem like he didn’t care about Ashley Grant, but that couldn’t be further from the truth.
She remembered a time in her past life when Ashley Grant was out of contact for twelve hours. It turned out she’d gone on a trip and dropped her phone in the water, leaving her unable to contact her family. Leona Grant had almost torn her school abroad to the ground.
Annabelle Linton realized she was pretty amazing herself.
’She was probably one of the very few people in the world who could get Leona Grant to speak properly.’
...
Vivian Yates stood in the distance, watching the couple’s flirtatious banter, an icy glint in her eyes.
That was the first time she had ever seen Leona Grant lose his composure like a child.
She realized she was starting to hate Annabelle Linton more and more. She despised her!
She hated how beautiful she was, hated how talented she was, hated that she had a good husband. But most of all... she hated that Annabelle’s life was better than hers!
Vivian Yates clenched her fists, a sinister glint flashing in her eyes.
’Just you wait. The day I, Vivian Yates, make my comeback, I’ll make your life a living hell, Annabelle Linton!’
"Hey, what are you doing?"
Vivian Yates was seething when Ashley Grant suddenly tapped her on the shoulder.
In the blink of an eye, she put on a sweet smile. "Oh, nothing. I was just thinking how nice the scenery is here. Just admiring the view."
"Oh, is that so?" Ashley Grant asked, a seemingly casual smile playing on her lips.
Ashley had been standing behind her for quite a while, watching her stare intently at her sister-in-law and brother.
’Heh—I knew it. A dog can’t be taught not to eat shit. Annabelle Ainsworth, you really are just like That Witch Yates, with your ambitions still as wicked as ever.’
’Just you watch how I deal with you!’
Ashley Grant affectionately linked her arm with Vivian’s and started walking toward the summit. "Since you have nothing else to do, come have some fun with me," she said excitedly. "I’m bored out of my mind by myself!"
With that, she dragged Vivian Yates toward the summit area. It was a bit of a walk; it took them over ten minutes to get there.
When they finally arrived, Vivian’s eyes lit up with amazement. The scenery here was even more beautiful than where they were before.
While Vivian was distracted by the view, Ashley Grant walked over to the staff members nearby.
There was a bungee jumping facility here, and it was incredibly high. Standing on the platform offered an unobstructed view of everything below. It was high, truly high—the kind of height that would frighten even someone who wasn’t afraid of heights.
A beautiful smile graced Ashley Grant’s lips.
She walked over, pulled Vivian Yates toward the platform, and said excitedly, "Let’s go bungee jumping! I’ve already checked it out. It’s supposed to be an amazing rush, and you don’t find heights like this every day."
The moment Vivian Yates heard the words "bungee jumping," her legs went weak.
She’d gone once with her colleagues, and it had damn near scared her to death. She swore she would never, ever experience that feeling again for as long as she lived.
