Chapter 253 - 254: All You Know Is How to Embarrass Me, What Were You Raised On?
Leona Grant couldn’t hold it in and spat out the mouthful of wine he had just taken.
Thank God it was wine. If it had been a mouthful of blood, Leona Grant was sure he would have spat that out too!
Leona Grant slammed his glass down, practically grinding his teeth. "Ashley. Grant!"
A low roar followed. "I told you to go out with her, and you took her on a date with another man?!
I told you to go shopping with her, and you let another man pay?! Do I not give you enough of an allowance? You let someone else buy her clothes—are you useless?! All you know how to do is embarrass me! What the hell is wrong with you?!"
Even though she was prepared for this, Ashley Grant couldn’t help but feel her heart tremble.
’Damn, it looks like I underestimated my brother’s feelings for my sister-in-law.’
’But that shouldn’t be a bad thing, right?’
Getting to the point, Ashley Grant said a silent prayer for herself and said aggrievedly, "Well, that requires me to have money. Have you forgotten? Ever since I started at Lynwood High School, you bastard—!"
Seeing Leona Grant’s piercing gaze, Ashley Grant immediately changed her tune. "Bro, you only give me 50 a week for an allowance. That dress costs over a thousand! How long would I have to save up to afford that...?"
On the surface, Ashley Grant looked pitiful and wronged, but inwardly, she was cursing Leona Grant out.
’He sends me to a prestigious school but only gives me 50 a week. He’s totally humiliating me!’
’My classmates spend over a hundred on a single drink and a pastry. When have I, Ashley Grant, ever had to live so miserably?’
"Then why didn’t you ask me for it? What about your own card?!" Leona Grant said angrily.
"You froze my card. As for asking you..." Ashley Grant held out her palm. "I need fifty thousand. Would you be willing to give it to me?"
"You have the nerve to ask me for money? You’ve completely embarrassed me, and now you come asking for cash? Forget 50 a week for your allowance. From now on, it’s 50 a month!"
Leona Grant was fuming.
The thought of Annabelle Linton wearing clothes that Aaron Wyatt bought for her made him want to go over and rip them right off her!
’Is she that poor?’
’Does she like wearing clothes other men buy for her that much?!’
’If she wants them, I could buy her a whole outfit studded with diamonds. Why does she *have* to let another man buy them for her?!’
Unable to contain his anger, Leona Grant smashed a nearby antique vase.
Seeing her brother’s furious state, Ashley Grant was gloating inside.
’You bastard, Leona Grant. You really gave me a hard time a while back. See how the tables have turned now, huh?’
’I’m just getting started!’
"Sigh..." Ashley Grant sighed and turned to walk away. "Well, forget it then. I’ll just go ask Aaron for a loan. He’s such a nice person, he’ll probably lend it to me..."
"Ashley. Grant!"
Leona Grant stared at the person before him, so angry he could have passed out.
’The two of them are nothing but trouble. Am I, Leona Grant, short on cash?’
’Aaron Wyatt, you’ve managed to charm both my woman and my sister. You’re something else!’
"You fucking dare say that name to me one more time?" Leona Grant kicked over the nearby sofa.
Ashley Grant looked at Leona Grant with wide, startled eyes, feigning confusion. "Bro, what’s wrong now...?"
’What does she mean, ’what’s wrong’?!’
’My woman is about to leave me, and my own sister is helping an outsider!’
"So you both like that man so much, is that it? Then get out! A backstabbing traitor like you should’ve gotten the hell out a long time ago! Why did you even come back? Get out!"
"No, Bro, you’ve got it all wrong. I didn’t want to borrow money from anyone else, either. But it’s almost my sister-in-law’s birthday, and you’ve cut off all my money. I just... I just wanted to buy her a decent birthday present, that’s all..." Ashley Grant said, pretending to be flustered.
Hearing this, Leona Grant froze.
