Remarriage Failed Again Today

Chapter 233 - 232: Parachuting

Hearing the commotion, Leona Grant kicked open the door to Annabelle Linton’s room without a second thought.

Seeing Annabelle on the floor, he ran over and helped her up. "Are you okay? Are you hurt anywhere?"

The plane soon stopped shaking.

"I’m fine." Annabelle pushed him away and frowned, heading out of the room. "What’s going on?"

"Seems like the plane is malfunctioning," Leona Grant said, following her out.

In the main cabin, a flight attendant with a grave expression brought parachutes and distributed them to the four of them. "Sir, the plane’s tail was just attacked. It won’t hold for much longer. We have to abandon the aircraft and jump. In approximately five minutes, the plane will begin to plummet at an uncontrollable speed. Please get ready. Parachuting is our only option."

The four of them paled, immediately taking the parachute gear and starting to put it on.

As Leona Grant put on his gear, he found himself instinctively watching Annabelle Linton.

To his surprise, she wasn’t clumsy or unfamiliar with it. Annabelle was actually quite skillful, showing no signs of being a novice.

His eyes darkened. He looked at the flight attendant. "Where are we now? Did you find out who attacked us?"

"Over an unnamed small island. We’ve already called for personnel to provide support, so it will only be a temporary stop. Rest assured, Sir. As for the attack... it’s currently under investigation. We will provide you with a satisfactory answer."

"Holy crap, does this mean we get to try skydiving? Awesome! Hey, Annabelle, you look like you’re familiar with this equipment. Have you jumped before?" Xylas Shepherd asked, looking at Annabelle Linton in confusion.

Annabelle deftly tied up her hair, revealing a smooth, high forehead. With the parachute on her back, she was the very picture of valiant heroism.

A flash of stunned admiration crossed the three men’s eyes!

Annabelle remained expressionless, stating calmly, "I went through training drills in college. I was a combat medic."

’So that was it.’ The Royal Albion College of Medicine truly lived up to its reputation.

The four of them quickly finished gearing up.

The hatch was opened, and a fierce wind roared in, making it hard to keep their eyes open. "I’m going first! See you all on the ground!"

With that, Xylas Shepherd leaped out.

Nathaniel Locke was the second to go.

Annabelle prepared to jump third. She stood at the hatch, looking down at the thousand-meter drop below without a single trace of fear on her face.

She had actually suffered from a severe fear of heights once. But the Royal Albion College of Medicine’s first requirement was to acclimate to situations like this, to train their students into becoming versatile physicians.

She had overcome that fear back then, all to prove herself to Leona Grant.

’Is this a blessing in disguise now?’

Seeing Annabelle standing at the door without jumping, Leona Grant assumed she was scared and walked over. "Are you afraid? If you are, you can..."

Before Leona Grant could finish speaking, Annabelle took a sudden leap out.

Leona Grant: "..."

He stared after her, practically dumbfounded.

Then he jumped too.

His body plummeted downwards, out of control.

"WHOOMPH—"

The parachutes opened, and their descent slowed.

The sky was gradually darkening. Annabelle looked down at the indistinct sea of white mist below, feeling as if she had grown wings.

Just then, a sudden, fierce wind tore through the sky!

Their parachutes were yanked uncontrollably, carried off by the wind.

Leona Grant grabbed ahold of Annabelle, pulling her into his embrace just in time to prevent them from being separated.

The wind blew without end. Leona Grant and Annabelle were completely swept off course, utterly at the mercy of the gale...

...

Two people stood before a massive screen.

On the monitor before them, footage of Annabelle Linton and the others’ current predicament was playing.
