Remarriage Failed Again Today

Chapter 215: Silent Threat

Leona Grant stopped in his tracks. His deep eyes coolly took in the scene before him. On the surface, he appeared calm and unruffled, but inside, a tempest was raging.

Annabelle Linton stood with her arms wrapped around Aaron Wyatt’s neck. Aaron Wyatt was leaning down slightly, murmuring something to her, a gentle expression on his face.

The image of the handsome man and beautiful woman stung his eyes.

’Damn it, no matter how he looked at it, the two of them looked so perfect together!’

Leona Grant’s gaze fixed on them as he asked coldly, "Who are those two? They look familiar."

The groom’s father followed Leona Grant’s line of sight to Annabelle Linton and Aaron Wyatt. He chuckled and said, "Those are the best man and maid of honor my son invited. They were all good friends with my son and daughter-in-law in college.

"My son told me they’ve liked each other for years, but they just haven’t confessed their feelings yet. The feelings are clearly mutual. Look at them, a picture-perfect couple, a match made in heaven. Don’t you think they’re perfect for each other, Mr. Grant?"

In an instant—

Leona Grant’s expression turned terrifyingly cold. His eyes locked onto Annabelle Linton, his gaze as deep and chilling as an ancient abyss, enough to make one’s blood run cold.

’Annabelle Linton, so meeting secretly back home wasn’t enough for you? You had to run off to another country?’

’Liked each other for many years, is that right?’

’The feelings are mutual, a picture-perfect couple, a match made in heaven, is that it?’

’And you’re still keeping me a secret, aren’t you?’

’Fine. Just fine. Absolutely perfect!’

’And to think I came all the way from home to find you. Annabelle Linton, I’m here, and this is what you show me?!’

Leona Grant scoffed, the corners of his lips curving into a charming arc as he stepped forward. "Is that so? I’d like to get to know them. I wonder if President Lewis could make an introduction?"

"Ah?" The groom’s father was baffled for a moment, wondering why he would want to meet Annabelle Linton and her companion, but he quickly recovered. "Yes, of course. It’s no trouble at all."

The groom’s father walked over to them, a beaming smile on his face. "Ah, Miss Linton, Mr. Wyatt."

Annabelle Linton froze for a second before realizing her impropriety. She quickly released her hold on Aaron Wyatt and gave a faint smile. "Yes."

As she turned, her eyes met Leona Grant’s frosty gaze.

Annabelle Linton froze, unable to process why he was here.

Then, out of habit, her expression instantly cooled. She calmly looked away, her eyes becoming distant and devoid of emotion, as if they were complete strangers.

She had no idea that this simple, dismissive gesture made Leona Grant clench his fists in anger.

President Lewis stepped forward, smiling at Annabelle Linton and Aaron Wyatt. "This is Mr. Grant, the CEO of the Grant Group from Lynton. Since you’re both from the same city, Mr. Grant was hoping to get acquainted."

’Mr. Grant...’

Although Aaron Wyatt had never met Leona Grant in person, he had seen his picture before and recognized him instantly.

’He must be Annabelle’s fiancé.’

With the primal instinct of a man sensing a rival, Aaron Wyatt watched Leona Grant’s unblinking stare on Annabelle Linton. His own eyes darkened. He subtly pulled Annabelle into his arms, staking his claim, and let out a soft chuckle. "The Grant Group is quite famous in Lynton. That’s a bit out of our league, so I think we’ll pass on the introduction."

President Lewis’s smile stiffened. Just as he was about to say something, Leona Grant took a step forward.

"Not at all." A dangerous smirk played on his lips. Ignoring Aaron Wyatt completely, he extended a hand to Annabelle Linton. "I enjoy making new friends. There’s no such thing as being ’in’ or ’out’ of a league. How about it, Miss Linton?"

Annabelle Linton frowned, her expression composed as she studied him, trying to figure out what game he was playing.

But even though Leona Grant was smiling, his eyes were utterly frigid. The coldness radiating from them was oppressive, a silent threat warning her not to push him.
