Remarriage Failed Again Today

Chapter 211: A Celebrity Came to Your School?

Ashley Grant jolted awake, ripped the exam paper from her face, and glared at the teacher, furious. "Is this necessary? You teach your class, I’ll get my sleep. We stay out of each other’s way, understand?"

"Ashley Grant, you’ve got a lot of nerve! A zero on the exam, sleeping in class... You’re really something else!"

The homeroom teacher slammed her hand on the desk, showing her fury. "You’re stupid and you don’t even try! How can you face your parents? Trash like you doesn’t deserve a quality education. Either get out or I’m calling your parents! You will give me an explanation today!"

Ashley Grant stared at her, speechless. She took the exam paper, glanced at both sides, and shook her head with a TSK-TSK. Then, with a look of utter disgust, she crumpled it into a ball and tossed it into the trash can behind her. "This stuff is an insult to my intelligence. It’s not even worth doing."

"You... you’ve got a lot of nerve! You can’t solve a single problem, yet here you are, talking big. People like you are the absolute worst!"

Ashley Grant didn’t feel the slightest bit of guilt at the teacher’s contempt.

Leona Grant had been afraid that the teachers and principal wouldn’t dare be strict with Ashley because of her family’s status. So, she had arranged a new identity for her: a girl from a poor family, living alone with her grandfather.

This teacher was incredibly snobbish, the exact type of person Ashley despised. In the three-plus months since she had transferred here, the two of them had clashed almost daily.

In the classroom, it was either one or the other. They were like oil and water.

"Heh." Ashley Grant gave a faint smile. "Whether or not I’m talking big is beside the point. How about this: pick any problem you want. If I solve it, what happens?"

The teacher didn’t believe her for a second. "If you solve it, from now on, I, Sandra Woods, will take your surname!"

"Great. Don’t forget what you just said."

Ashley Grant rose languidly and smoothed out her school skirt.

The red-and-white plaid uniform looked exceptionally good on her.

Innocent, yet with an air of elegance and swagger.

In an era where other teachers were still living off chalk dust, Lynwood Noble School had long since reformed; every student had an iPad.

The teacher pointed to a problem on the screen. "This one right here!"

Ashley Grant gave a contemptuous smile, walked up to the lectern, and brought up the problem.

With her eyes locked on the teacher, her hands flew across the screen as she simultaneously explained her steps and performed the calculations.

"Using the Pythagorean theorem, we first find the measure of this angle. Plug that into the formula to solve for angle B. The figure is an acute triangle, so angle C must be less than 90 degrees. Next, subtract the sum of angle B and angle C from angle D, and then..."

And just like that, with a completely blank expression, Ashley Grant finished a problem that almost no one in the class could solve.

The expressions of the entire class, who had been ready for a good show and full of mockery, turned to utter shock. The teacher was also completely bewildered.

’Was this the legendary "playing the pig to eat the tiger"?’

"So, Teacher. Was I correct?"

Sandra Woods was mortified. She was caught between a rock and a hard place—she couldn’t nod, but she couldn’t shake her head either.

Ashley Grant walked up to her and gave a faint smile. "Looks like you’ve got a new last name. Be good, now... Shannon Grant."

The teacher: "..."

Just as Ashley Grant finished speaking, her phone rang.

So, she answered it in front of everyone.

With the entire class watching her, Ashley Grant just said coolly, "I’ll be right there."

Then, she grabbed her backpack and walked out as if no one else was there.

The teacher finally snapped out of it. "Ashley Grant, it’s still class time! Where are you going?"

"To find another place to sleep."

"..."

At the same time, a deep blue Maserati ignored the school rule—"No Unauthorized Vehicles Beyond This Point"—and pulled up defiantly in front of the main academic building.

Ashley Grant came downstairs and got right in.

"Ashley, where to? Your big bro here will take you anywhere you want to have fun!" Miles Morton said with a roguish smirk.

"Let’s just get out of here first."

"You got it."

Ashley settled into the car, her gaze sweeping over the receding scenery. Her eyes, heavy with unspoken thoughts, gave her a lonely, desolate air.

Behind the car, someone from the dean’s office gave chase, shouting curses. Miles Morton casually tossed a check out the window—his classic move of throwing money at a problem.

They were driving along when suddenly, Miles Morton’s car stopped in front of a huge commotion filled with frantic screams. "What’s with all this? Did a celebrity visit your school or something?"

Ashley Grant nonchalantly shifted her gaze back, but then her eyes shot wide open.

Because there, in the midst of the chaos, she saw Ryan Linton walking out, carrying Kiera Keane in his arms.
