Remarriage Failed Again Today

Chapter 209: You Called Just to Tell Me This?

Hearing the barrage of questions, the director wiped away his sweat, unsure which one to answer first. "...She’s on a business trip."

WHOOSH—

The temperature in the room plummeted. Leona Grant scoffed, unleashing a bone-chilling aura.

Leona Grant pressed his lips together and shut his eyes for a moment. His detached voice was laced with fury. "Where is this business trip? And for how long?"

A maid brought over some tea. Leona Grant took a cup and had a sip, but he couldn’t quell the rage simmering within him.

’Damn it. She’s going on a business trip, and I, her husband, am the last to find out.’

’Annabelle Linton, you’ve got some nerve!’

"Uh..." The director swallowed hard and stammered, "A business trip to Nordmark... for about three months..."

PFFT—

Leona Grant couldn’t help himself. The tea he had just taken a sip of went flying, spraying directly onto Roxanne Jennings, who was sitting across from him.

"Leona Grant!" Roxanne Jennings’s expression turned thunderous.

Leona Grant felt his blood boil as a tidal wave of fury washed over him.

’Nordmark. Three months!’

’Is she planning on never coming back?’

Leona Grant immediately chewed out the director over the phone, issuing a direct order. "Tell Annabelle Linton to get her ass back here by tomorrow morning. If she isn’t back, you can consider yourself retired!"

With that, he slammed the phone down. Furious, he smashed his teacup.

"School’s finally out! Man, it’s hot today. Hey, bro, what’s up with you?"

Ashley Grant came home from school, casually tossed her backpack onto the sofa, and upon seeing the tea on the table, gulped down a large mouthful.

Roxanne Jennings was dabbing at herself with a handkerchief. She glanced at Leona Grant and said with deliberate provocation, "Your sister-in-law went to Nordmark for a three-month business trip. She didn’t tell *him*."

PFFT—

Ashley Grant couldn’t help herself either, spraying a mouthful of tea right in Roxanne Jennings’s face.

Then she let out a howl of laughter: "Hahahahahaha..."

Roxanne Jennings looked like she was about to have a meltdown. She shot to her feet, pointed a trembling finger at the two of them, and shrieked, "Ahh! Are you two insane? Why don’t you just drink the tea instead of spitting it all over me? Is there something wrong with your heads?!"

With that, she stormed upstairs to change.

The maid who witnessed this was having her own meltdown.

’Ma’am... you just spit yours out too. Is the tea I made really that disgusting? Every single one of you spit it out.’

’Are you guys going to fire me...?’

"You think this is funny?" Leona Grant shot Ashley a glare, his face a mask of irritation. "Is all your homework done? Get back to your room and study!"

"Whoa, bro, don’t take it all out on me. Shouldn’t you be asking me to help you figure something out?"

"I don’t need it."

RING—

Leona Grant had barely finished speaking when his phone rang. It was the director.

He answered curtly, "Is it handled?"

"Not exactly..."

’What the hell?’ the director thought, wiping his sweat again. ’Damn it all, aren’t they supposed to be giving each other the cold shoulder? What kind of cold shoulder is *this*?’

"Um, sir, your wife said she’ll speak to you directly. She’s about to call you. You can talk it over with her."

Before the director could even finish, Leona Grant hung up on him.

Without a moment’s hesitation, Leona Grant called Annabelle Linton. The call connected with surprising speed.

A fresh wave of anger washed over Leona Grant.

’That woman did this on purpose. She’s definitely doing this on purpose!’

"What is it?" Annabelle Linton’s indifferent voice came through the phone.

Even through the phone, Leona Grant could sense the ice and impatience in Annabelle Linton’s tone.

"Annabelle Linton," Leona Grant sneered, the corners of his mouth lifting into a cold, predatory smile. "Who gave you permission to go to Nordmark? Now get the hell back here!"

Annabelle Linton remained impassive, her voice flat and without a single ripple of emotion. "Did you call me just to say that?"
