Chapter 198: Is This the First Day You’ve Known I’m Unfeeling?
Annabelle Linton’s eyes held no warmth, as cold as a biting winter wind.
She looked down at Faye Sheffield. "Did I give you the wrong impression? I couldn’t be bothered to play games with trash like you, but you just had to keep running your mouth, didn’t you? You’re just asking for it."
With that, she smashed the glass in her hand onto the floor. Shards flew up, scoring several bloody marks across Faye Sheffield’s face.
"I’ll give you three seconds to disappear from my sight. Get the hell out!"
Just as Annabelle Linton finished speaking, Chase came in with a group of people, followed by Xylas Shepherd and Nathaniel Locke.
Nathaniel Locke and Xylas Shepherd were both Leona Grant’s best friends, having grown up together.
Hearing that Leona Grant was allowing someone to be disfigured for his sister-in-law, they had all run over to watch the show.
Xylas Shepherd took in the scene before him.
Leona Grant stood to the side, clearly enjoying the show, while Annabelle Linton looked down imperiously at the woman on the floor, whose face was bleeding.
Vivian Yates’s face was streaked with tears, a picture of delicate sorrow.
’Did... sister-in-law do all this?’
Shocking!
Hearing the commotion, Annabelle Linton calmly raised her eyes.
In an instant, her gaze met that of Nathaniel Locke, who had just walked in behind the others.
The man was dressed in a black suit, with fluffy, wild chestnut hair. His lips were pressed into a thin line, and his face held an air of jaded understanding.
Yet, this nonchalant demeanor held an inexplicably wicked charm.
His eyes were especially deep, like those of a malevolent spirit emerging from a dark, ancient castle. One look was enough to make you feel like you were being pulled into a vortex.
Annabelle Linton suddenly recalled that in her previous life, this Nathaniel Locke seemed to have been involved in some unbelievable scandals with her own niece...
But none of that had anything to do with her.
Annabelle Linton calmly averted her gaze, not holding back in the slightest just because others had arrived.
The next second, her sharp gaze swept over to Vivian Yates, and Annabelle Linton said coldly, "You can get out with her!"
Nathaniel Locke gave Annabelle Linton a deep look, a hint of shock and confusion appearing in his otherwise placid eyes.
’Interesting.’
This was no time to leave; what Vivian Yates wanted was for things to blow up!
She glanced at the two men who had just entered. Perfect!
It seemed she would have to put on a good show.
Vivian Yates ran to Faye Sheffield’s side. While checking Faye’s injuries, she cried, "Annabelle, I’m begging you, please let Faye go, okay? I’ll agree to anything. Just calm down, please?"
"Vivian... don’t beg that... bitch..." Faye Sheffield mumbled indistinctly.
Vivian Yates wiped away a tear. "Faye, don’t say any more. Annabelle won’t do anything to you. I’ll beg her. Don’t worry!"
Annabelle Linton almost laughed out of sheer exasperation.
’Still acting, even now?’
’Very well!’
’You want to play?’
’Fine! Then I’ll play along!’
The room was suddenly deathly silent.
Annabelle Linton chuckled softly and pulled over a chair to sit down.
She elegantly crossed her legs, picked up a glass of red wine from the table and swirled it, her indifferent eyes remaining perfectly composed.
The corner of her mouth curved into a sarcastic arc as she looked down on the two people on the floor. "Excellent. Still acting tough when you’re at death’s door. I admire that!"
"You want to plead for her?" Annabelle Linton looked calmly at Vivian Yates, the corners of her lips turning up. "Weren’t you going to beg me? Fine. Beg me, and I’ll let her go. Go on."
Vivian Yates looked at Annabelle Linton, humiliated and shocked, the disappointment on her face deepening. "Annabelle, I never thought you were this kind of person.
This is between us, so let’s settle it ourselves. If you have a problem, direct it at me. Why drag other people into it? Since when did you become so heartless?"
"SMASH—"
Annabelle Linton fiercely smashed the glass in her hand onto the ground, where it instantly shattered into pieces.
She glared coldly at Vivian Yates, her expression steeped in frost. "Between us? Who the hell do you think you are that I’d bother getting revenge on you, let alone stoop to taking it out on trash like her, hmm?
Heartless? Is this the first day you’ve known I’m heartless?!"
