My Lust System: I Inherited The Sin Of Lust And His Three Wives

Chapter 147: Benefits Of Killing A Duke

Damian sat on his bed after his wives left and stared at his phone with a genuine look of surprise. According to the time and date on his phone, it was Tuesday night, 9:45 pm.

As far as he could remember, it was barely up to 10 am on a Monday morning when Duke Haborym attacked. This meant he had been asleep for more than a day.

"How is that possible?" He mumbled in disbelief.

Ding!

[You were completely drained of your demonic force and the divine aura used to heal you has suppressed your demonic heart, preventing it from beating. Without your demonic energy, you cannot rely on your regeneration to recover fast.]

The explanation caught Damain off guard and he quickly called for his Status.

[Name: Damian]

[Race: Human/Demon] [Hybrid]

[Rank: Greater Demon] [Beast]

[Sins: Lust/Abyss]

[Talent Points: 155]

[Talent Tree:] [Lust/Abyss]

[Level: 150] [0%]

[Strength: 25.0] [Agility: 25.0] [Constitution: 25.5] [Charisma: 25.0] [Demonic Force: 000/1900]

Damian stared at his status with a blank expression, shocked by what he was seeing. The last time he checked he was somewhere around level 110 or so, so how did he rise so rapidly to 150 in such a short time?

All his stats improved by ten points and even his talent points had gone up by over a hundred points.

This was not a small upgrade. If he were this strong, he probably wouldn’t have needed the abyss to fight Duke Haborym.

Immediately, Damain checked the tucked away messages he was unwilling to deal with and his eyes widened in surprise.

[CONGRATULATIONS FOR KILLING AN ASURA AND CONSUMING ITS PRIMAL SOUL]

[Unique Skilk Unlocked: Asura Physiology]

[Name: Dark Prophecy]

[Description: Fate is not decided until Fate is decided. Once a prophecy is foretold, the universe listens and adheres to that prophecy. [Name: Hellfire]

[Type: Active]

[Description: The flames of hell foes not burn, it rots and decays. It drains the vitality of every living thing it makes contact with and is ranked only below the Abyssal and Ninefold Samsara Fox Fire]

Staring at the upgrades Damain couldn’t believe his eyes. To think killing one Duke brought so many benefits. It literally gave him one third of the talent points he got from Lin Qui.

This was far beyond anything he could have hoped for. Immediately, his unpleasant discussion with his wives vanished from his mind and a smile bloomed on his face.

All the abilities he unlocked could be considered top tier. Damain wanted to jump and scream in joy after realizing he now had access to the same fire as Duke Haborym. But even that ability was not less important than Greater Regeneration, Dark Prophecy or even the Possession skill.

"If only I could regrow limbs like him. I’ll be overpowered." Damain mumbled while rubbing his chin with a thoughtful expression.

Memories of his fight with Duke Haborym came back and he shivered instinctively. He felt goosebumps rising all over his body. Fighting someone who could regrow severed arms in an instant was truly his most terrifying experience so far.

The hopelessness was just too suffocating.

It was like giving your all when you clearly knew it was not enough. You knew you would eventually get overwhelmed. It was a horrifying experience he would love to give others and not experience.

"So what is this Asura Physiology?" Damain could not help but ask.

He was satisfied with the other skills, but it was this one that interested him the most.

Ding!

[Name: Asura Physiology]

[Type: Bloodline]

[Description: While the primal essence of Duke Haborym was consumed by the abyss, its power still resides within you. Even as the abyss tries to hoard the stolen Asura bloodline for itself, the ancient lineage has fused with your own blood. You can awaken the power of the Asura bloodline but because of the Abyss’s restrictions, you cannot access skills that comes with it]

"Wait what?" Damian was even more confused by the message.

It took him a moment to read the message again before finally understanding what the system was saying.

"So basically, I absorbed the Asura bloodline while the abyss was consuming Duke Haborym?"

[Correct.]

Damian nodded in response as he asked the second question. "So I have the bloodline but I can’t use skills that are attached to the bloodline?"

[Correct.]

Damain’s expression sank.

"That shit is fucked up." He mumbled with a frown.

He was not sure what Asura skills were, but he knew for certain they would be epic, so regardless it was a major loss.

"Can I know what those skills are?"

[No... It’s locked away by the abyss. I cannot access them.]

Damain facepalmed. The abyss was becoming much more troublesome, especially now that it had control over four out of twenty five fragments of his soul. Currently he could not tell whether this was a negative or positive change, but one thing was certain, it would not be funny when he finally found out what handing over his soul fragments to the abyss would cost him.

Damian knew he needed to deal with the abyss before this became a problem, but how?

According to Lin Qui, he only had a chance once he reached Godhood with the powers of Lust, so his only option now was to wait and play it safe until then. He could not afford to give up more than these four points.

"I need to stop acting recklessly or it will be the end of me." He sighed, his eyes heavy with acknowledgement.

This brought his thoughts back to his recent fight with his wives. Ruby was right to be angry at him for fighting Duke Haborym, but at the same time Damian believed they had no right to be angry at him for acting on his own when they did it all the time.

If he was not worth sharing the important details of their lives with, then they were not worth sharing the important details of his private life either.

That was the way he saw it, and from now on he planned to keep it that way until he was certain his wives no longer kept things from him.

If nothing changed, then they would just have to get used to living together with secrets.

Ding Dong!

Suddenly a bell rang, but it was not from his head. It came from the door.

"Mr Hill, the police are here. They will be coming in to see you shortly." A lady’s voice rang from all four corners of the room, causing Damain to frown.

The police!

Since he got shot, Damain had been torn on what to do. He knew the government would eventually come knocking, and while the obvious answer was to tell them Adrian shot him, Damain did not want Adrian in jail. He wanted the man dead.

If it were not for his argument with his wives, he would have reached a conclusion on this matter already, but now he had to make a quick decision.

The two options were; tell the truth about the shooter and let the police handle everything, or keep the matter a secret, turn it into a political assassination attempt in connection to the new councilman case to boost his credibility and reputation, tilting the hopeless case in his favor.

Of course, it only took Damain a moment to look between both options and choose the latter. Killing Adrian himself, while still gaining from the attempted murder, would be compensation for his ruined vacation.

Huff!

Damain exhaled loudly and leaned back on his pillow, shutting his eyes tight.

"My actions did ruin our vacation so I have to make it up to them somehow." Damian could not help but acknowledge.

Even though he and his wives were not on good terms now, he was still willing to take responsibility for his mistakes.

The question now was, how was he going to make it up to them?

What possibly could he get for three demigods as an apology for ruining their vacation.

"I’ll try to get the case postponed so that my vacation won’t be affected...." Damian mumbled to himself.

All he needed to speak to the judge incharge and he was certain everything will be sorted out
