Even though Susan was an expert at twisting the truth, she was completely flustered by this sudden, irrefutable evidence.
Winter Sullivan said coldly, "Susan, what do you have to say for yourself?"
"I..." Susan gritted her teeth, at a loss for words.
Sheldon Caldwell hadn’t known the details of the incident. He bent down, gathered the scattered papers, and began to read them carefully. The further he read, the darker his expression became. What Susan had done in Trellis was simply outrageous!
He stared at Susan, his face a mask of utter disbelief.
Winter Sullivan sneered. "Are you still going to claim Vera Xavier framed you? Still going to say the military’s last report was biased? Vera bullied you? Susan, are you really going to keep spouting these blatant lies to my face?"
This new investigation was incredibly thorough, even detailing the origins of the feud between Vera and Susan—the friction between Vera and Skylar Crowe was laid out in painstaking detail.
It had taken so long precisely because the investigation had been so meticulous, leaving no detail overlooked.
And because it was so thorough, it had also uncovered how Susan, upon arriving in Yulara, had brought Leo Wright along to bully the local residents.
This was precisely why Winter Sullivan was so furious.
Winter Sullivan had no intention of listening to Susan’s excuses. She turned to Sheldon and said, "Call your father. Tell him to come home."
Susan’s expression was ghastly. She looked at Winter Sullivan’s face, as cold as frost, and a storm of fear, hatred, and anger churned within her. She knew Julian doted on her, but this was more than enough to make even him furious.
Ultimately, her only real supporter in the Caldwell family was Julian. If this incident truly came to light, she would no longer be able to do as she pleased in the Caldwell household.
Susan grabbed Winter Sullivan’s hand. "Mom, you don’t believe me! You really don’t believe me! I’m your own daughter!"
