Chapter 137—Full Power Sylvester
Cole lurked in the shadows, maintaining his breath while his eyes were locked straight on Sylvester.
It was obvious from his expression that he was completely lost at the moment.
He was supposed to be chasing Bryan, and now he was here in this mostly secluded area of the academy.
"Where is he?’ Sylvester said out loud.
Feeling that he had observed enough, Cole felt like this was the right time to leave the shadows and appear in front of Sylvester.
"He will be so damn shocked," Cole said to himself with a devilish smile.
While he was smiling and thinking, he suddenly lost control of his breath, resulting in his presence being exposed.
"Who is there?" Sylvester shouted as he turned around to check his surroundings.
Cole felt a bit disappointed that his cover was blown before he chose to show himself, but he still didn’t mind and worked out into the light.
"Retribution," Cole said with a dangerous smile.
Sylvester looked in the direction of the corner, and under the faint light illuminating Cole’s face, he was able to recognize who was actually there.
"Hahahahah," he burst out laughing.
"Big words for a 1-star rank Innate Spirit, isn’t it?" Sylvester continued.
"Don’t tell me you were the one that actually made them lure me here."
"Are you looking for a beating?"
Cole listened to him rant as his eyes grew fiercer and hotter. It was taking all he had for him not to jump straight on Sylvester.
"The corpse you buried is now coming back to hunt you," Cole said slowly.
"Corpse I buried? "What the hell are you talking about, you low-life?" Sylvester responded.
Cole felt a bit of happiness deep inside of him while he saw the confusion and slight fear creeping onto the fellow in front of his face.
"I spoke to Klaus." Cole finally dropped the bombshell.
Despite having a bit of an idea what was actually going on, Sylvester was extremely shocked to actually hear it from Cole’s mind, but it didn’t last long.
"And so what? Yes, I did, and what else would you do about it?" he shouted.
It looked as if he wanted to do everything possible to try and justify his actions.
"You have no power over me, and you can’t even do anything to me."
Cole looked at him with an extremely frustrated face; he still couldn’t wrap his head around how someone could be stuck up.
"I assure you there’s something I can and will do to you," Cole said.
"Don’t tell me you think you can defeat me?"
"Ohh, that last time was just a fluke. I wasn’t ready, and we couldn’t use our biggest strength as a spriter."
"But now, things will be much more interesting," he said while licking his lips.
Cole didn’t bother saying anything more; he knew that the battle was about to start very soon.
Just as he thought, Life energy began coalescing around Sylvester, especially just above his shouting, and a set of golden chains appeared there.
Cole looked at the chains with extreme interest as he tried his best to get the highest amount of information from them.
The golden chains were extremely domineering in the truest sense, with their edges having sharp spike-like points.
"Check it out, seeing how a powerful Innate spirit actually looks," Sylvester said.
Cole didn’t respond; instead, he just got into a battle stance and charged straight at his enemy.
"Let’s end this as soon as possible," Cole thought to himself.
He and Bryan had realized that if Sylvester actually wanted to escape and call for help, there was no way they could stop him without attracting attention.
"He is too arrogant for that," Cole thought.
In the blink of an eye, he had covered half of the distance between them, and before he could proceed further, he suddenly felt a bounding force around him.
"The same thing happened that day," Cole thought.
"You must have been feeling the presence of blinding Chains right,"
"Let’s see how you defend again something you can’t see."
Since the first time such a thing had happened to him, he had experienced Sylvester’s supposed brother’s battle. He had an idea what he should do.
"Tsk,"
Life energy rushed across Cole’s body and was more concentrated on his head while his eyes displayed a deep golden glow.
"Freaking dizziness," Cole muttered.
Even though he felt quite a bit dizzy, Cole quickly composed himself and looked at his body. What he did was exactly what he expected.
Under the influence of Cole’s Eyes of Scrutiny, golden chains that moved like snakes could be seen wrapping all across his body.
They weren’t all just all around Cole’s body; they were mostly everywhere on the ground.
Despite seeing all of that, Cole made sure it wasn’t obvious to his opponent that he could. Instead, he just struggled all around in his spot.
"I am going to end this in one smooth motion," he thought to himself.
Having made that decision, Cole acted like there was no way he could move forward and he could only retreat, creating some distance between him and his opponent.
"You couldn’t even get through my chains, and you plan on defeating me. Pathetic," he said out loud.
Cole didn’t bother with his words; instead, he rushed to the side and decided to approach from another side.
With the Eyes of Scrutiny, he could see the chains slowly change direction and attempt to block his newly selected path.
Cole changed direction again before he suddenly realized something.
"He hadn’t sent out a single attack; he must have a ploy."
The thought wasn’t totally off Cole’s mind when he felt something heading straight at him.
Cole hurriedly looked up and tried his best to see what was coming. Heading straight for Cole were Large spike ended chains that seemed unavoidable.
Cole was caught up thinking about how he should block the attack when he suddenly heard Sylvester speak again.
"This battle is over, Cole Bremont," he said with intense contempt.
Cole’s lips were then raised slightly before he also replied with equal intensity as lightning sparks began forming all around him.
"Yes, it is."
The lightning sparks slowly coalesced around Cole, forming a full coat all around him.
While still standing in his place, Sylvester’s eyes widened quite a bit as he watched the changes in Cole. But the shock soon disappeared and is now replaced with contempt again.
"It is all pointless if you can’t see the attack—" his words were suddenly caught off.
Cole, who was previously stocked up with trying to escape the chains, now had a large boost in his speed. He noted the trajectory of the attack using the Eyes of Scrutiny and proceeded to jump to the side.
That jump instantly moved him out of the chain attack line, but now what was left were the binding chains still sprawled around, or so Cole thought.
While he moved closer to Sylvester, he abruptly felt something rushing straight for his head from behind.
Making a split-second decision, Cole turned around and used his increased speed to try to dodge.
"I don’t know how you managed to dodge that, but my chains don’t give up that easily."
While in the midst of dodging the attack, Cole suddenly realized something.
"If the chains aren’t going to stop, then I better tackle the owner."
Having decided that Cole turned around and activated his Kinetic Acceleration, charging straight at Sylvester.
Sylvester couldn’t even process what was going on before he saw Cole’s attack right in front of him.
"How did he get here so fast?" was the last thought Sylvester was able to form before the attack arrived in front of him.
The speed boost from both the lightning coat and Kinetic added an insane momentum to Cole’s attack that it too surely knocked anyone out.
Bam!
The attack landed with such great intensity that all the chains were blown apart and a little bare spot was created around them.
"I hope it isn’t too much," Cole thought.
Under the impact of his attack, Sylvester was immediately knocked out, resulting in all his abilities deactivating and his body heading straight for the ground.
Before he could touch the ground, though, Cole grabbed his collar and managed to stop him.
"There are some things you will need to do for me," Cole said.
Cole moved towards a dark corner and dropped him there gently before turning around to leave that area.
Getting out of that completely secluded area, Cole arrived in a more populated area where he searched for Bryan.
He didn’t have to search for long before he noticed Bryan sitting nervously not far away.
The instant he spotted him, Bryan also turned towards his direction and raised an eyebrow, to which Cole responded with a nod.
A smile formed on Bryan’s face as he stood up and approached Cole.
"Hope you got the bastard good," he asked.
"Uhm, despite not being satisfactory. I think I got him quite well," Cole responded with an equally devilish smile.
"That’s great then; now let’s go enact the second phase of the plan," Bryan said excitedly.
The two of them then turned around and headed back to where Cole was just coming from.
