Spirit's Ascension

Chapter 125— Hidden Factions.

Seeing Cole suddenly fall straight at the ground with no external disturbance, his teammates immediately knew that something was up.

They were just about to rush forward and try to catch Cole before he actually falls to the ground but they were stopped in their it is tracks by what they saw in front of them.

Directly beside Cole, shadows slowly began coalescing before taking humanoid shape and a figure appeared in its place.

"You have now been completely dragged into it," Isaac said in a low voice.

"Seems like there’s no choice since you were already involved before,"

He carefully caught Cole’s falling body before turning to look at his teammates and giving them a nod.

"I’ve got him," he managed to transmit gently.

The two students were taken aback by the turn of events but they were unable to react when a loud voice erupted a little to their left.

"Isaaaaacccc,"

"There you go interfering again, none of this concerns you in any way at all," Wilce shouted.

"Dropped the kid and I might let you leave here," he commanded.

"Tsk, loud idiot," Isaac muttered before slowly meading into the shadows again.

Seeing his target slowly leave his grasp again, Wilce immediately activated his wind ability giving him quite a large increase in speed as he rushed forward.

Despite being as fast he currently was, Wilce still wasn’t able to meet up with Isaac figure before he completely vanished.

"He got away," Wilce said angry before turning to Cole’s teammates.

They were still standing there having no idea what they were supposed to do now but it didn’t take them long for them to snap out of it and leave hurriedly.

In another location in the academy, Isaac figure slowly materialized still holding Cole’s unconscious body.

"I was lucky enough to arrive at the right time elder," Isaac said to the old man seating not far away.

"Weldone, the second elder is really someone that needs to be feared, he made conscious efforts to prevent me from being there now,"

"Thankfully the first elder was able to resist there pressure,"

"Drop him over here, let me check him out," the fourth elder instructed Isaac.

Doing just as he was told Isaac proceeded to drop Cole on a bed beside the first elder.

Wasting no time, the first elder grabbed hold of Cole’s hands and began checking his condition. He eyes were extremely focused at the start but his face slowly grew grim the longer he did that.

"The second elder is really ruthless," he muttered.

Those words immediately brought quite a lot of panic to Isaac since he had a idea of the grimness of an attack from such a figure.

"But I should be able to correct it," the fourth elder concluded.

Now Isaac breathed out a sigh of relief as he felt the situation was now back in there control.

"Poor kid," Isaac said while looking at Cole’s unconscious body.

The fourth elder continued what he was doing for a while more before stopping and saying to Isaac.

"I have mostly cleared the unwanted Life energy that resulted in his collapse away, the rest would be taken care of by the nurses."

"But that has also caused another problem for us that way, since we have confirmed the second elder’s guess."

"It is really difficult to deal with people that will do anything to achieve their goal" Isaac muttered.

"Yes it is," the fourth elder responded.

Quickly after Finishing his task, the Fourth elder stood up to leave, leaving just Isaac, Cole and a nurse in the room.

"He is in your hands now. Tell the head nurse to contact me when he wakes up again, there are somethings I have to tell him now," Isaac said before also vanishing.

The nurse was now left standing there awkwardly, having no idea what she was supposed to do. The powerful people just left the room, leaving just her with am unconscious Cole.

"I should get the head nurse," the nurse thought before leaving the room with hurried steps.

An unknown amount of time then passed with Cole still laying unconscious on the bed but eventually he started stirring awake.

Cole eyes fluttered open slowly and he instantly wished he hadn’t done that. His was immediately hit by the overwhelming pain coursing through all around his body.

It felt like he was being battered all around at the same time and there was no way for him to actually know the cause.

"The second elder is going to pay for this," Cole thought in defiance.

The anger currently welling up inside him was almost catching up to the pain he was feeling.

"Relax, the pain will slowly fade," Cole heard from just beside him.

Those words then became like Cole’s activator to observe his surroundings. Bearing the pain, Cole opened his eyes to have a full view of his environment.

The ceiling above his head was extremely familiar bringing back some memories back to Cole.

"Isn’t this the medical center?" Cole thought. To confirm his suspicion, Cole immediately turned to see well.

Standing not too far away from him was the familiar head nurse and the sight of her face immediately made Cole shiver on the bed.

"You went ahead to do exactly what I told you not to,"she shouted.

Cole opened his mouth to defend himself bit seeing the woman’s domineering expression, he could only shrink back and listen to her and shout as he barely made a few words.

"It was an emergency,"

The head nurse berated for a while until she finally cooled down and shut her mouth.

"Now is not the right time for that, firstly we need to take care of somethings,"

"I have been able to completely take out the new intrusion in your body but I still can’t get rid of the old one,"

"The old one?" Cole wondered.

"Yes, that dark energy," she concluded.

"Ohhh, I know that will still be there," Cole said in a neutral tone as if he had expected all of this before.

"Now is not the right time to talk about all of this, firstly there’s something Isaac will like to tell you,"

Her eyes were focused on a corner of the room while she was saying that as if she knew there was someone waiting there.

Her words haven’t completely escaped her mouth when Cole noticed Isaac figure gradually taking form in the corner.

"Teacher Isaac," Cole muttered.

"Hello Cole," Isaac responded.

Something about that voice am words immediately made Cole remembered someone.

"Why does that sound so much like Mr. Evans?" Cole thought.

But noticing the serious expression that was currently on Isaac’s face, Cole quickly wiped the thought off his mind and now focused on what he was about to say.

"As you now know, you have been dragged into what seem to be a faction battle," Isaac said melancholicly.

Cole nodded in acceptance though he had another thought in his mind.

"Wasn’t the situation because of doctor thomas?" Cole wondered but he still decided to listen to Isaac.

"Since you are knew to the academy, you probably don’t know this but the academy actually have three factions,"

"I can’t tell you what the different factions are battling for but I can just tell you some premise,"

Cole was now completely intrigued when the conversation got to that point, he had been noticing a slight difference in people’s action in the academy but he had no idea why.

But now he seemed to have a faint idea of what exactly was going on.

"Of the three factions, one is against something which is the faction I and the fourth elder belong to. The other is in support of that thing and the last one is neutral,"

Listening to the Isaac’s words, Cole knew why part he was more inclined towards and immediately made a decision.

"I guess I am now part of the your faction then," Cole said confidently without any sign of repulsion.

"Yes, I guess you have been forced to be one of us now," Isaac responded.

"For the faction that is actually in support of that thing, The second and third elders are the main leader and Wilce is also a member but it also seems like Wilce has other plans,"

"Probably has something to do with doctor thomas," Cole said to himself.

"The final faction though, the neutral one is headed by the First elder,"

"The first elder is the oldest and strongest of them allowing him to have a large say while the fourth elder is the youngest and the second strongest and that’s why we haven’t been completely wiped out yet,"

"Wiped out? Is it that serious," Cole thought.

"Yes it is that serious," Isaac responded as if he was reading his mind.

Cole understood that there was need for him to know some information about things to fully integrate but he couldn’t understand why he was given so much detail.

"But why I am being told so much so early?" Cole asked with a worried expression.

"Sigh,"

"Because you will die soon,"
