Chapter 603 - 604– Continent of chaos – Part 24.
"Okay…. So let me get this clear." – said ClownFrog as he sat down alongside the beastmen general.
"You are saying, that the army is planning on betraying the king himself as well as "benefactor", in exchange for the beastmen nation getting both absorbed into our empire, while also providing a support for the kingdom recovery."
"A total loyalty and stuff…."
"…"
"And you have the binding contract on top of it all, which seems also include names of several other figures of power within the kingdom, especially the ones in charge of leading the army."
"Is that correct?"
"Yes." – replied general Axe.
"The contract was made in a way that only you, the leader of the Garog empire can sign it as party B."
"Besides us, we will also be able to convince other people that are still not part of our rebellion if we declare that we have your backing."
"…"
"Hm….."
"…"
"Well, if we change few things in the contract, then I'm willing to sign it while keeping the major parts mostly unaffected." – said ClownFrog.
"!?"
(Wait?! He agreed so easily?!) – thought surprised general Axe who thought he had misheard the demon lord.
"BUT! One thing." – said ClownFrog.
"I want one thing before we even talk about me agreeing to sign the contract."
"Why?"
"Why in the bloody hell the beastmen king betrayed me?"
"We made a proper deal."
"A fair deal even or even overpriced one."
"He wanted the entire holy kingdom territory and I've had agreed to that deal."
"We even worked perfectly and I've even send my troops to support him whenever you request the support."
"So why did he betrayed me?"
"As one of his most trusted general as well as one of the highest ranking generals, you must know something."
"…"
"That….. I don't know." – said the general Axe.
"…"
"Explain." – said ClownFrog with cold voice.
"…"
"He said…. He said that he feared the empire…. He said that he beastmen kingdom would be swallowed and enslaved by the empire after the war…. That the alliance with you would fail."
"?"
"…"
"And do you really believed that?" – asked ClownFrog.
"No." – said the beastmen.
"I knew about the deal as well other stuff…. I've also knew that the king was planning on betraying you before you even proposed an alliance."
"He knew that you two would talk and decide to work together."
"Or…. "THAT" guy told him that."
"?"
"Who?" – asked ClownFrog.
"…"
"A servant of the "benefactor"."
"A human…. A middle aged man in ropes… He didn't like anybody strong or- "
"Inhuman?" – asked Sirius as he manifested from the shadows.
"…. You know him?" – asked ClownFrog.
"Yea, I bloody do." – replied Sirus.
"A middle aged man wearing ropes that does not looked strong at all nor as if he was hiding his strength…. This was the very same guy that was used to as means of communication between the "benefactor" and third prince."
"He was also an advisor and strategies that gave support to the prince with some of his problems…."
"…"
"That guy…. He maybe really one and the same." – said the beastmen.
"…. And actually…. There is one more thing about him."
"?"
"Hear me out…. But this is the messenge I've once received from my spy located in the dwarven kingdom….. Apparently he also visited the dwarven kingdom, the roped guy."
"!"
"Wait, but dwarves were not using any monsters that did not belonged to them or anything." – said ClownFrog.
"Yea, apparently the negotiation failed, since apparently they said something about "tossing out the corpse of his". By the looks of thing the dwarves killed him."
"…..Honestly…. There was a moment where he was gone for longer time…. But in the end he did returned to our kingdom."
"…"
"It is the same." – said GreyHunt.
"After the war with the empire, we managed to capture some noble that told us something similar."
"That the "benefactor" approached the first prince, but he refused the deal…. And apparently he also murdered the messenger."
"The noble man could not tell us the description of the messenger…. But maybe he was the same guy?"
"…. It would make sense….. But then again, how?" – asked Sirius.
"He died 2 times, but he came back to life as if nothing has happened?"
"He isn't adventure if you are wondering, so he shouldn't have ability to be banished and then resurrected the way you do when you die." – said the beastmen.
"Then this theory is out of widow, eh?" – said ClownFrog.
(A messenger that can resurrect over and over….. Honestly, it is not like NPCs cannot be revived.)
(There are skills or items that can be used to bring them back to life.)
(Or there are beings that can just resurrect over and over.)
(Spirits, angels and demons are banished back to their realm if their "contracted vessel" is destroyed and they will "resurrect" there after sometime passes.)
(The only way to really kill the other world being is to either kill them in their realm or when they are fully manifested, for example Hell Lord who was summoned as his "true self".)
(He died permanently.)
"…"
"Was by any chance the man in question a demon, angel, spirit or maybe undead?"
"No. I've thought about it as well, but I've found nothing." – replied the beastmen.
"He is really just a human…. Or he has a ability to completely mask what kind of being he really is."
"…"
*Sigh*
"I understand." – said ClownFrog as he picked up the contract.
"I will sign the contract after discussing minor changes here and there."
"!"
"Wait, this answer satisfy you?!" – asked shocked beastmen.
"Of course not, you bloody idiot." – replied ClownFrog.
"But it doesn't look like you are lying."
"However, it doesn't change the fact that we have to eliminate the beastmen king and deal with the "benefactor", or this entire continent could end up being destroyed by him."
"So I'm just taking a smart path."
<<The contract was discussed for some time, changing details here and there while also adding some other stuff to it... And then it was signed.>>
<<With this, the beastmen kingdom has lost its army.>>
"They rebleed!?" – shouted the beastmen king as the news of the revolution has reached the royal castle.
"Y-yes! The rebellion led by the general Axe and the general Oktan have taken over majority of our non-monster forces!" – said the beastman knight.
"Many people that were not originally part of the rebellion had started switching sides."
"The forces still loyal to you are trying to purge the traitors…. But they are being supported directly by the empire and our defenders are just… Opening way to them."
"?!"
"THE HELL DO YOU MEAN THEY ARE OPPENING WAY TO THEM?!" – shouted the king.
"!?"
"WAIT! WHAT ABOUT THE HOLY KINGDOM!? IF NOBODY IS DEFENDING OUR SIDE THEN- "
"They are locked in the fight with the empire forces led by the demon lord and his queen." – said the nobleman covered in sweat that just entered the throne room.
"The traitors alongside the empire are working together, trying to stop the holy kingdom….. And we also received another report."
"The two people that are leading the rebellion army that is heading straight towards the capital city is non other than general Axe…. Alongside demon lord right hand, arch duke GreyHunt."
"Sir…. This isn't good."
"At this rate we- "
"Use the monsters provided by the benefactor." – said the king.
"?"
"I'm sorry?" – asked the sweating nobleman.
"I SAID USE THESE GOD DAMNED MONSTERS!"
"GET RID OF ALL THESE TRATIROS! FUCKING KILL THEM! OR CAPTURE THEM!"
"IF THEY WON'T FIGHT FOR US WILLINGLY, THEN WE WILL JUST TURN THEM INTO HUMANOID MONSTERS!"
"THAT IS WHAT I MEAN! SHOW THESE BASTARDS NO MERCY AND END THEIR REBELION NOW!"
"?!"
"My king! If I may! This is madness!" – shouted the knight.
"If we were to do it, then our kingdom will- "
Before the knight could even finish speaking, the beastmen king swung his claws, decapitating the knight on the spot…. As the nobleman and all other knights watched.
"AM I NOT CLEAR ENOUGH HERE ON THE MATTER?!" – shouted the beastmen king.
"N-no! I will spread the orders immediately!" – replied panicking and sweating nobleman as he straight up ran away and left the room.
(What the hell is going on?!) - thought the running nobleman.
(Why is his majesty acting like this!? This is nothing like him at all!)
(Hell! Is that person even our king!?)
"…"
"Out… EVERBODY OUT! NOW!" – shouted the king, ordering all the knights to leave his side.
"YOU! COME OUT!"
"…"
"You don't need to yell; I was straight up hiding there all the time." – said the middle aged man in ropes as he walked past the throne.
"Monsters! Give me them!" – demanded the king.
"Turn those traitorous bastards into monsters or what ever creature you can make! JUST GIVE ME A ARMY THAT WILL BE OBEDIENT!"
"…"
"Sure. But you do realize that if you want to make a proper monster, it is better for you to give us "living beings", right? So, if you want- "
"I will give you the traitors. Alive and corpse alike." – said the king as he instantly put his claws in front of the man eyes.
"But the citizens that has nothing to do with it are out of your fucking menu."
"Got it?!"
"…"
"I understand." – said the middle aged man.
"Don't worry."
"Our master will keep the end of their bargain until the very end."
