Chapter 594 - 595 – Continent of chaos – Part 15.
<<The dwarven army march was being halted, slowed down or just annoyed all together stopped in a moment by our acts of sabotage and annoyance, which had obviously caused the dwarves to waste a shit tons of time.>>
<<Not only that, but sometimes Rampage would "cannonball" into the enemy lines, spreading chaos by just running around and smashing everything, before then just running away without enemy being able to stop her.>>
<<Or I would just swoop in, fire few big spells and breath attacks as well as raise some undeads before then flying away.>>
<<However! The one that had definitely terrorized the dwarves the most would be Oron.>>
<<He sniped several high ranking dwarven officers as well as few other unlucky people, with him even taking down some golems.>>
<<And where was he? Nowhere.>>
<<Oron attack range is one of the biggest in the whole game, allowing him to pretty much snipe the enemy without them having any option of fighting back.>>
<<They did tried to find him, but his stealth skills were straight up too much for them to handle.>>
<<So, either the hunters that were sent ended up going by Oron, or they were the ones being hunted down.>>
<<One of the dwarven generals almost even got assassinated twice, causing him to straight up hole up in one of the tanks as he feared for his life.>>
<<"Death Out Of Nowhere".>>
<<Dwarves whispered.>>
<<I guess he terrified them enough to make them give him a "title".>>
<<And thanks to their fear of Oron just thinking about "snipping" them out of nowhere caused all high ranking dwarves to get scared and mess up the chain of commands.>>
<<This caused the dwarves to slow down even more, which was way more deadlier now as they had already run out of food supplies they had brought with them, resulting in the army getting starved.>>
"…"
"This is not good." – said the dwarven general while looking around, spotting his starving soldiers.
(The enemy had not chosen to fight us directly at all even once… And instead focused on slowing us down…. This is very bad…. We had long time ago run out of necessary amount of food to keep our army moving.)
(Should we maybe stop moving and focus on hunting?)
(We need to secure even a tiny bit of food for each soldier in order to have them move few more steps and wield their weapons...)
"…"
(Wait….. Wait….. WAIT A BLOODY SECOND!)
(WHY ARE THEY NOT ATTACKING US?!)
(WE ARE ALREADY IN THEIR EMPIRE!)
(Something isn't right!)
The dwarven army had finally entered the empire…. But even so, the empire did not attacked them, even though they were monitoring their every single move that the dwarves army made…. And they soon find out why.
They are still harassing dwarves, slowing them down.
This tactic shouldn't really make any sense right now, since the enemy entered their home…. And this filled the dwarven general with dread and worry.
However, there was a hope.
A city.
The city will be definitely defended and there will be some supplies inside.
(No matter how powerful the city defenses are, the enemy won't be able to stop our army.)
That is what the dwarves thought.
They thought that it would be a easy victory where they could finally secure some small amounts of food at least….. That is what they had thought.
But in reality?
The city was only shut down.
There was no defenders or anything like that after the dwarves destroyed the gate.
Not even expendable undeads were in sight.
The entire city was completely abandoned…..
"…"
"Search around…."
"SEARCH THE FUCK AROUND! FIND ANYTHING! ANYBODY! ANY FOOD! WATER! ANYTHING! NOW!" – shouted the general with eyepatch.
The general was the first one to put pieces together as he realized what was going on.
The dwarves searched around…. But they found nothing.
No people.
No food.
No water.
The entire city had completely been abandoned while taking anything and everything that could be used as a source food.
This filled up every single soldier with the sense of dread.
"WE NEED TO RAID THEIR VILLAGES! THEIR FOREST! ANYTHING! MONSTERS MEAT IS FINE AS WELL!"
"And you think this is possible?!" – shouted the general at the high ranking dwarves that were demanding to split their armies in order to search for the food.
"Do you really think they had only evacuated this city?! Villages and towns must had also been evacuated and I doubt they left the forest unchecked!"
"Their aim is simple!"
"They are stalling!"
"They want us to just starve to death so they can easily kill us all!"
"That is their goal!"
"T-then what do we do?!" – asked the heavily armored dwarf.
"…"
"We…. Move forward…." – said the general.
"…. But general, in our current state, the march right now could be deadly… We had already killed every single tamed beast we had, since they were going feral from hunger, but even meat from them was nowhere near enough to fill every single soldier stomach."
"And you think we had a bloody option?!" – asked pissed off general.
"We have already entered their empire!"
"We either get food or we die!"
"Unless we somehow magically find some food right now."
"GENERAL! HUGE NEWS!" – shouted the excited soldier as he rushed into the building where the meeting was being held.
"FOOD! WE FOUND FOOD IN THE CITY!"
"?!"
"WAIT, YOU SERIOUS?!" – shouted the shocked general.
"Y-YES! WE HAD FOUND A SECRET STASH OF FOOD!" – said the soldier.
"!"
"LED THE WAY! NOW!"
The general alongside the high ranking dwarves rushed after the dwarven soldier…. But when they arrived at the area where the food was found, they instead found chaos.
"FUCK OFF! IT'S MINE!"
"SCREW YOU! I SAW YOU EATING SOMETHING LAST TIME!"
"YOU GREEDY BASTARDS! SHARE IT!"
The entire dwarven army found out about the food and they instantly began fighting each other over the food, with some dwarves even going as far as the use their weapons and kill another dwarf to steal the food.
"STOP IT YOU IDIOTS!" – shouted the general that arrived at the scene, trying to calm down the rampaging dwarves.
"…"
"I SAID STOP IT!"
But nobody was listening.
As soon as the dwarves spotted the food, they instantly lost it and no longer cared about the generals orders.
Dwarves murdered each other and stole each other as the general watched, causing him to snap and order the elite dwarven soldiers to deal with the rampaging soldiers.
This obviously caused quiet conflict among the dwarves.
…
In the end, the food was completely devoured while many corpses of the dwarven soldiers ended up laying around in the end of that chaos…. But it wasn't really the end.
The food was poisoned.
The dwarves that consumed the food ended up collapsing one by one, with even some dwarves even dying because of the poison.
"It was a set up…. They intentionally left that food behind….. They knew the soldiers wouldn't be able to control themselves once they found the food." – said the general as he held his grumbling stomach.
"…"
"The amount of food that was there…. It was intentionally so little that it would never be shared amongst all the soldiers, but enough to provoke the soldiers to fight over it….. Sadistic bastards."
"…"
"…How… How are our loses?"
"Not good sir." – said the heavily armored dwarf.
"A lot of soldiers ended up dying in the fight over the food."
"Not only that, but all dwarves that consumed the food are now suffering from the poison, with some dwarves even dying….."
"…"
"What are you not telling me about?" – asked the general as the dwarven knight went silence.
"…"
"Some dwarves couldn't handle it anymore….. And they started cannibalizing other dwarves."
"!?"
"WAIT! WHAT DO YOU MEAN THEY STARTED CANNIBALIZING!?" – shouted furious general.
"I-it is just like I said…. Some dwarves couldn't handle it anymore after the food incident…. And so, they started eating each other."
"They knew that they couldn't touch corpse since they could be possible poisoned… So, they started killing other dwarves that did not touched the poisoned food."
"DEAL WITH THEM IMMEDIATELY! AND MAKE SURE THAT NEWS DON'T SPREAD EVERYWHERE!" – shouted the general.
"The next thing we need is to have our own soldiers now hunting each other."
(FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK!)
(This can't get any worse!)
Or so he thought.
ClownFrog came again.
The dwarves were alarmed as they had thought that the demon lord came to attack once again….. Only for him to instead fly above the city and drop something near it, before then flying away.
He didn't attacked or send out undeads.
He did nothing but only dropped a giant crate.
And what was in that crate?
Food.
The crate was filled out to the brim with food.
This obviously caused…. "Chaos".
Dwarves knew that the previous food they had found was a trap that was meant to poison them…. But even so! Even so! They saw a food!
"What if it not poisoned?"
"Yea….. Maybe… It is really safe?"
"…"
"FUCK IT!"
Even though the dwarves knew the danger of the food being possible poisoned, it did not stopped the dwarves from rushing in like animals once again, fighting over the food and even killing each other.
In short, this was a complete repeat from the last time.
…
Or not.
The food was completely devoured by the dwarven soldiers…. But nobody was poisoned.
The food this time was perfectly safe.
"NO POISON?!" – shouted the general.
"N-no. There was nothing at all… Everybody that has eaten the food are not showing any symptoms of being poisoned at all!" – said the dwarven knight.
"The food was perfectly safe!"
Yes.
There was no incident what so ever with the food…. It was perfect, tasty and completely safe food…. But this caused even bigger incident.
"Why they didn't shared?"
"Did they knew that the food wasn't poisoned this time?"
"By any chance… Did they betrayed us to the demon lord for the food?"
Distrust.
The amount of the food that was dropped was once again no where near enough to split amongst all the soldiers, causing the soldiers that were not able to get their hands on the food to start distrusting the people that DID ended up eating the dropped food.
The conflict between the dwarves erupted, accusing others of "knowing that the food was safe" to "betraying us".
This was even worse then when the poisoned food was found, causing the dwarves in fighting to start spreading amongst the dwarves at rapid rate.
And this wasn't the end.
The demon lord once again came and he dropped a second crate of food.
And this time, without hesitation, the entire dwarven army rushed in, trying to get their hands on the food inside.
This caused a straight up war amongst the dwarves as even golem users used the golems that were meant for the war to straight up attack other dwarves in order to secure the food.
And once again, to make things worse, the control that anybody in charge had, including the general? It was now in such pathetic state that just words alone did nothing, forcing to use brute force to deal with rampaging dwarves.
And just like before, the entire food was completely consumed.
But this time?
It was once again poisoned, resulting in the dwarves getting poisoned and with some of them even dying after consuming the food.
(He is playing with us…. HE IS FUCKING PLAYING WITH US!)
(He is giving us first poisoned food and then normal one, before then giving us poisoned one again!)
(And each time we gets our hands on the food, it is always not enough!)
(He wants us to murder each other!)
(We need to get out of this city, NOW!)
"…"
But they couldn't.
The dwarven army could not move at all.
The entire chaos caused by the battle over the food over and over again had caused the chain of commands amongst the dwarves to end up being useless in the eyes of the dwarven soldiers, causing them to straight up ignore their commands.
Not only that, but the dwarves did not trusted each other anymore.
They murdered each other over the food.
They accused each other.
They betrayed each other.
They did not worked together.
Everybody was only carrying about themselves.
Some dwarves even decided to straight up run away from the army in order to try and get some food.
This caused a massive chaos.
Even when the dwarven general ordered the army to move out, most of the soldiers didn't really knew what to do.
"Should they fallow orders?"
"But they don't have any strength to move."
"What if another crate of food comes?"
"I don't trust this guy! He will kill me just like last time!"
"Water! Water! Give me water!"
Desperation, despair, anger, distrust and all sort of other feelings were mixing together.
CHAOS.
And this caused the army not being able to move at all from the city.
Obviously the general tried over and over again doing something to move his army and after each attempt it did started looking up like he was about to succeed in motivating his soldiers to keep moving forward.
….
But then it all came crushing down pretty much instantly when "it" came appeared.
The third crate of food dropped down.
