Chapter 577 - 578 – Garog empire invasion.
[Current location: City – Bell]
"Sir, the requested supplies had arrived." – said the soldier.
"Good. What about the angel summoning? Did you summoned the high ranking angels as instructed?" – asked the high ranking paladin.
"The summoning gate is almost set up. We should be able to begin the summoning today, around the time sun rises." – said the soldier.
"Good…. Then- "
"SIR! EMERGENCY!" -shouted the soldier that suddenly burseted into the room.
"An large army of monsters are heading our way!"
"!"
"PREPARE OUR FORCES! NOW!"
In the middle of a dead of night, in the city located right next to the border between two nations, an large army of monsters demi humans were making their way towards the holy kingdom city.
"…"
"How large?" – asked the paladin as he got on top of the wall.
"We don't know, since darkness is abstracting our view…. But from what I can tell is that army that is heading this way is no small group of some saboteur." – said the soldier on the wall.
"It may be an invasion force."
"…"
"How are our forces?" – asked paladin.
"Well… No good… But not bad either." – said the priest.
"We had managed to help around half of our soldiers in their recovery, but other half isn't in state where they can take part in large scale battle."
"…"
"Request an immediate support! And hurry up with- "
Suddenly, high above the city walls, an light suddenly blinked, before moments later an beam of silver light fell down.
And before the paladin could even react, the beam touched the wall, blowing it and all soldiers on top of it up.
"…"
"Fuck them up." – said flying Blueberry with a smoke coming from her mouth as she was surrounded by countless flying demons.
.
The Garog empire that had been on the defense all this time had finally decided to launch their attack.
An large army in the middle of the night attacked the city located right at the border between two nations and almost instantly conquered the said city.
This obviously instantly alarmed the holy kingdom that launched their own massive attack in order to reclaim the said city…. But when they came, the city was completely abandoned and was only infected with undeads that were just the soldier who once were stationed there.
This was an distraction.
An real attack happened at much larger city of Makow, causing panic as the church forces were to run in order to not lose one of their major cities.
But that so called "Real attack" was also plain distraction.
While the holy alliance were thinking that the Holy Kingdom was getting attacked, the real attack was happening else.
Oron alongside GreyHunt as well as several of the elite soldiers were able to sneak into kingdom of Maq.
"…"
"Okay, is everybody here?" – asked GreyHunt as he alongside his own army of elite soldiers were hiding in the forest that was located in the Maq kingdom territory.
"Yeb. We are good." – said Oron.
"It did took us way longer to transport everybody without getting noticed, but by the looks of things Shri and Blueberry are able to create enough chaos for the enemy to not notice our lack of presence."
"But the attack is still going on, right?" – asked GreyHunt.
"Yeb." – replied Oron.
"They don't have any clue…. But we should hurry before they do realize that the whole thing a sham."
"True….. Anyway, you all remember our goal, right?" – said GreyHunt as he took out the map.
"Our goal is to quickly and effectively destroy Maq kingdom supply line, resulting in the Maq kingdom frontlines and their troops there to be easily picked off by our own troops."
"If this plan succeed, our main army would be able to march into Maq kingdom and join up with us, before then quickly taking over the Maq kingdom."
"However, this plan has problem."
"In our first attack, we must leave no survivors and make sure that the enemy would not send out any signals or set off any alarms."
"This will buy us some time, but only "SOME", since it wouldn't really take long for the enemy to realize that one of their supply lines were cut off."
"After the first attack, it would be race against time."
"We would need to destroy all of these marked settlements on the map on the map."
"Any questions?"
"…"
"I have one." – said the vampire soldier that raised her hand.
"What about the villages in the area? There will be definitely few…. They may end up… "Snitching" on us."
"…"
"You are not wrong, but we cannot really attack every single settlement that could snitch on us." – said Oron.
"This is race against time as soon as we destroy the first base here."
"Simple put, we cannot waste our time on them."
"Any other questions?"
"…"
"…"
"I guess not." – said GreyHunt.
"Well then, tomorrow in the morning we will be launching our attack."
"So get ready."
[Few hours later – Morning time.]
*Yawn*
"Heh. Not much sleep mate?" – asked the guard.
"Shut up!" – said pissed off sleepy guard as he took out a bottle.
"?"
"…"
"Really? You got wasted and now you are drinking again?" – said first guard.
"SHUT UP! THIS JOBS SUCKS! THEY PAY SUCKS! AND THIS PLACE SUCKS!" – said the sleepy guard as he started drinking.
"…"
"Anyway…. Want some?" – asked the sleepy drunk guard as he turned around, only to not see his friend.
"?"
"Hey… Did you went and take a dump?" – asked the guard as he looked around, trying to find his friend, only to then slip and fall on the ground.
"F-fuck… Why the hell is it….. Wet…" – as the man got up, he came face to face with his friend dead body.
"!?"
"W- "
The man got up in panic, but as soon as he did, he got shot in the head with a crossbow bolt, killing him on the spot.
Some of the guards on top of the wall did noticed the two fallen men, thinking that they are laying around…. But as soon as one of them got worried, one by one the guards being quietly assassinated from afar, before moments later the elite army rushed towards the walls and quickly climbed over them.
Afterworlds it was an massacre.
The elite army were able to launch an success invasion, catching the defenders off guard… Before then slaughtering them all.
Every single soldier, guard and civilian that were inside the settlement at the time were all eliminated.
And it was only the start.
After taking down the first settlement that worked as one of the supply lines for the main army, GreyHunt and Oron army were already on the move again, rushing towards the next target and quickly taking it down.
However, by now the situation with the supply lines being "odd" had already caught attention of the Maq kingdom…. But it was too late.
GreyHunt and Oron army were already heading towards their third target.
And after the destruction of the third settlement, the Maq kingdom realized that somebody was attacking their supply lines.
This obviously caused them to panic and try to act.
However, there was a problem.
Internal problem to be precise.
Some of the higher ups from the Maq kingdom thought that the soldiers need to be kept on the frontlines and they couldn't retreat, while others wanted most of the soldiers to quickly gather and attack that saboteur.
It was chaos.
The kingdom of Maq management was so in shambles.
This did caused quiet confusion for both GreyHunt and Oron, who thought that the things were going far too easier than they had thought.
But in the end, they used the Maq kingdom incompetence for their advantage in order to fully destroy the supply line, before then running away.
Meanwhile while this was happening, the Garog empire army that had launched an invasion on the holy kingdom were on the full retreat.
Reason?
They realized that the attack was distraction.
The Garog kingdom army led by Blueberry and Shri retreated.
The Maq kingdom obviously saw this as an opening to try restore their supply lines…. But they couldn't.
Reason?
They were infected.
[Graveyard Totem]
An necromancer structure that when implanted will infect the area with "Undead Rising", causing nearby corpse to get turned into feral undeads.
Item created in Blueberry workshop that goal was to stall the enemy by having them deal with wild undeads as well as the fact to put a "doubt" in the minds of the soldiers.
"Are these roads safe?"
"Will the supply lines get attacked again?"
This doubt acted like the poison, causing the supply lines restoration to take much more longer…. And because of this, the Garog empire had time to send out their attacks at the Maq kingdom boarders.
Obviously a large scale battle occurred there, but obviously because of the lack of supplies the situation for the soldiers there turned chaotic.
Not only that, but GreyHunt and Oron army that had retreated did not in fact left the Maq kingdom.
Instead, they just stayed hidden and launched an surprise attack from behind.
This caused panic and chaos among the Maq kingdom higher ups and soldier…. Which then turned into disaster as the Garog empire were able to break the Maq kingdom line of the defense.
And with that, the path to the Maq kingdom had been blown open, allowing the Garog empire to launch their invasion.
Their aim?
Destroy and conquer Maq kingdom.
