Chapter 507 - 508 – Forgotten Story – Staff – Part 2.
Merlin and Morgan.
Once the same beings were now completely two different people.
And those people would give birth to their daughter, Erza.
She was meant to be crafted into the "Hero" that would be perfect.
An being that would suffer and experience joy.
They would train her and mold her.
The daughter that was molded into becoming the hero.
She was raised with joy and suffering, molding her into character of a "Hero".
Her best talent?
Magic?
She used human craft, her demonic side and her spirit side, creating her own weapon of the legends.
An weapon that would be her companion but also an tool for guidance.
"Wondering Wisp".
The staff that wonders around with its user. An staff of "adventurer".
Quiet romantic sound, doesn't it?
And as they crafter her, so does she went on the adventures, becoming the hero and savior, worthy of the tales and achievement of a hero!
She went through countless journeys.
Experience pain and despair, but thanks to her parents teachings she never gave up and stood up, continue walking, destroying evil and brining peace.
She even slayed the once knight mage that devoured his own soul for the power and was now hunting for the new soul to replace the one he devoured.
He slew the mad knight mage, ending his terror and brining the peace to the land.
The tale of epic.
The tale of suffering.
The tale of despair.
The tale of hope.
The tail of happinesses.
The tale of rise.
And the tale of the happy ending.
Erza had become an hero and savior.
"Hero Of Wondering Play"
That was her title.
An happy ending and good story.
….
….
….
"This isn't it."
They both said.
"THIS ISN'T IT!"
"THIS IS FAKE!"
The tale was made.
The tale was written.
The tale was successful.
So why are they saying this is fake?
Because this wasn't an hero that wasn't "born".
Nay.
I it was "made".
This "THING" that they made wasn't an real hero. It was just object that was supposed to pretend to be an hero.
The "thing" they created wasn't an true hero. It was an fake that pretended to be an hero. Something that was made to be the hero.
They understood.
They understood it all after watching and reading through countless heroic tales they once witnessed.
The heroes are born.
But not like they are "born" to be heroes as soon as they came to life, but they are "born" through their own achievements.
That is true.
You can't "make" hero. They need to be "born".
And so, their daughter was hero no longer and was instead made as their agent. An agent that was forced to look for the hero.
They no longer even saw them as their daughter or even an person. But instead, as "Defective product".
And once again the search for the hero started.
This wasn't all.
Merlin and Morgan mated with different humans, giving birth to the children's in hopes of creating the heroes.
Some of these children's were tortured beyond believe.
Some of these children's were loved beyond believe.
Some of these children's were abandoned.
Some of these children's were raised.
Some of these children's were forced to survive.
Some of these children's were trained.
But in the end, each one ended up being an "Defects" that died or were disposed off.
The only "defect" they kept around was their first daughter, since she was only useful one…. She was only kept for this reason alone and alone she was as she watched her siblings die horrible and agonizing deaths left and right.
And she could do nothing but watch, since she was made to serve.
She thought about fighting back…. But then again she knew.
She knew that she may end up facing the parents that teached her and raised her.
And she knew if she were to fail she would end up "disposed".
This was the first time ever in her life she felt it.
Fear and despair.
She did felt them on her journey many times over, but these two feelings were different…. No.
These were the true fear and despair.
The fear and despair she felt so far was nothing more than written story.
Those were the "Real" human emotions.
….
"Why?"
She was now asking the questions.
"Why are these "real" feelings?"
She started realizing something.
She was an puppet.
Her emotions, all were fake in order to craft her into the "hero".
She started "growing" as an person….. But she also knew that she was still nothing more than puppet and so she continue serving her parents.
However, even though she served, there was no result.
The "Perfect" hero was never "born".
They though that maybe they really have to "Make" one, but they already tried that many times to the point of thinking about "making" another child would be just an waste… Then it hit Merlin.
"What if…. What if we find an way give an "birth to the hero?" – Merlin asked.
"We already talked about it. It's impossible to give "birth" to the hero. We can only "make" one if we were to try." – Morgan argued.
"Yes, I know. But what if we were to set up an trial?" – suggested Merlin.
"?"
"An trail? What the hell are you talking about?" – asked confused Morgan.
"Humans. They are weird and unknown, but many harbors an talent to become an "hero"." – said Merlin.
"Pretty much anybody can become an "hero"."
"However, what if one of those humans that did not chosen an path of a "hero" are the ones we are looking for?"
"What if the thing they need to awaken as an true hero isn't an push or support, but instead an trial?"
"An trial that will tell their tale. An trial that will make them write their own story."
"An trial that will be their starting point?"
"An trail that would "awaken" an hero. Giving birth to the one."
"!"
"Oh I see." – replied Morgan.
"Yes. This could work! If we find an way to awaken, we can mass produce "heroes" and there is- "
"I know what you are talking about, but this won't work. Mass production isn't the way to go." – said Merlin.
"Half assed heroes? We saw how this ended up and we had yet to see any of them yet successfully become the "true heroes" we are searching for."
"The trial I have in mind is harsh. Something that will be painful while also draining."
"Something scary that will back away common people and many of these heroes."
"Something that they would fail."
"But if their will is unbound."
"Their will is pure."
"Their will is strong."
"Their will is mighty."
"Then it could be the potential we are looking for!"
"They could have what it would be necessary to awaken as an true hero!"
"I see… Then what would be an trial be? Slay a beast? Rescue the princess?" – asked Morgan.
"…. No…. No. This won't work. Its something that even common people would be able to participate in while also not risking their life." – said Merlin.
"…"
"…"
"What…. What if their experience fear and horror?" – said Erza.
"?"
"What the hell are you talking about?" – asked confused Morgan.
"Fear and horror, those who walk the path of a hero. Nightmare and suffering." – said Erza.
"What if they experience those suffering, from those journeys? As their trial."
"Many would give up and many would rather not touch it, but what if they can endure it all?"
"All of it at once?"
"…."
"Wait, this is the great idea…. This is perfect!" – said Merlin.
"Those who convictions are too weak and their will is too fragile shall fail. But only those who shall embrace the suffering of the "true hero" would have the quality to become one!"
"…. But now the question is, how do we do that?"
"It cannot be trail where they have to fight, since common people would definitely end up dying without being able to awaken."
"…."
"An sword." – said Morgan.
"The sword that will test its wielder."
"An sword that will see if they are worth!"
"An sword that will be only pulled out by the "chosen one"."
".... Yes… It could work…. But one thing is materials and other is key component. The story." – said Merlin.
"Then use this." – said Erza.
"My staff. It contains my countless suffering and glory."
"We can use it."
"?!"
"YES! THIS WILL WORK!" – shouted both Merlin and Morgan as they took away the staff from their daughter.
…
Erza didn't knew why she did that.
Erza never spoke out of a turn. They never asked her opinion….
So why she did it?
Reason.
Suffering.
Their mania straight up destroyed her, eroded her, hurt her, tortured her.
And she knew that their madness would never end until they find the perfect hero…. And so, she did it. She gave them missing pieces of the puzzles and even her most prices possession that she though it was her only real family.
She wanted to end it.
She wanted to end the madness of her parents.
And so, the staff was taken by her parents.
They used the craftsman's of the demons and spirits while also using their own power, infusing the blade and bestowing it with an power.
The story, the suffering and joy, all of it were forged into an blade.
The blade that would be an test that would serv and determine those only with true potential.
Years took for the blade construction, but it was finally created.
The sword that only "true hero" would be able to pull out from the stone.
That sword name is Caliburn.
