Chapter 276 - 278 – The sin awakening – Part 2.
With the new plan in motion, I decided to split my forces and spread them around.
The two armies of the undeads will head towards two different directions, while I alongside the demons and the remaining monsters will go to the next town.
The reason why we are attacking different location is to let me use my necromancy power even more and create an army of monsters again in order to let my power go lose and its also to confuse the enemy.
The settlements have alarm thing and the nearby settlements receive an alarm if something big happens.
However, what if they receive an alarm and think that their settlement isn't targeted? Wouldn't they drop their guard a bit?
The undeads have order to attack anything they see, be it city, village or town.
However, I'm not sending undeads to really destroy.
I want them to die.
So, I'm not sending either Zod or O'a to lead the undeads, since they will do too much damage and undeads numbers won't be decreasing that much.
Oh well, even if the undeads won't die, I can just chancel them from afar if it calls for it. But its better if those undeads die by somebody hands, since they would cause some damage before being dealt with.
Anyway, the undeads moved first before after sometime passed my group started moving.
The third target was bit larger town compare to the two smaller towns I raised to the ground.
However, as luck would have it, there are already informations about me on the internet. Tail informed me that somebody made post about "ClownFrog appearing in the town and completely killing everybody with one hit."
The flow inside the game flows much faster compare to the real life, but it won't be long before the news about me reaches players.
There are also those alarm devices.
According to the people I captured, they said that the devices have a specific range, both the signal range and the receiving range. So, it's not like an entire empire knows about me. However, some settlements like cities have much stronger ones at their disposal, meaning that it can be bit problematic.
The nearest city is quiet far away from my current location, but I don't know if they received the alarm or not.
The first army that consist mostly of the elite undeads is heading in the direction of the city while the army consisting of numbers is heading towards the opposite direction. I will knew when one of the groups will be fighting since if specific undeads dies, be it elites or normal undeads, it will pretty much instantly tell if one of them is fighting or not.
Anyway, the three groups were currently on the move and it seems that the second army of undeads have already encounter some opposition. As for the first group they were still ok as well as our group.
However, I did encounter some random merchants. They didn't noticed us at first since we are not moving In huge army, but as soon as they spotted me, they tried to run away.
But unfortunately for them, I catched up to them and trapped them and immobilized them.
I didn't killed them from get go and instead took any valuable informations I could from them.
Apparently, the next town that I'm targeting is called Ox.
And would you FUKING look at that!
Apparently, that town is under the third prince control.
This is interesting.
A town under the third prince control who does a shady business behind the scenes? Is by any chance that town some sort of illegal black market?
Still, there is chance that I will find nothing there.
Apparently, the port city we first attacked when we got to the empire was under the third prince faction control, but we didn't found anything illegal or hidden.
And according to the merchants I captured, this place is apparently safe and everything.
Well, there is a chance that is cover and everything, that peaceful atmosphere.
The black merchant that the girls murdered had told me that there are apparently several black markets in the empire.
So, considering the fact that there is "Several" of them would suggest that they are indeed well hidden.
Not only that, but apparently this territory is under the third prince protection, so there is a chance that somewhere in here lies the black market. It could be inside the settlement OR somewhere hidden outside.
Oh well.
My original goal was not to find the illegal black market and rescue the captured people and have them join our side. But it will be nice bonus…. But how the hell I would drag them back to my base without getting spotted?
Hm…. I could bring them to the safe spot and then call for the rescue from the guild…. I will think more about it if I really do rescue somebody.
For now, me and my group headed towards our destination and after sometime, we managed to arrive at our destination.
"…."
(So, this is the Ox town? It's quite big for a town… It should be honestly called small city.) – though ClownFrog while observing the town from the distance using his spy glass while standing on top of the cliff.
(I see a lot of guards everywhere…. This place seemed to had already some defenses, but now they had reinforced it even more. They probably were in the range of the danger single.)
(That fuking merchant didn't said anything about this place being that heavily defended…. Did he left before the alarm sounded or was announced?)
(….)
(The undead are dying nonstop. I guess both of the groups are in combat right now…. But the first group is already taking some damage? That group is consisting of the elite undeads only…... Hm…. Did they encounter anybody?
Like the players? Or maybe the empire soldiers? It does seem like they are fighting right now.)
(Well, at least they are doing their job. Being an bate and dying.)
(As for the second group, they still seems pretty fine. They did suffered some casualties, but overall, they are fine.)
(Anway…. The medallion is pretty close to finishing.)
(Even before this whole plan started, my sloth was already close to awakening and considering the fact how much power I was using, the medallion status was charging up rapidly.) – though ClownFrog while holding the medallion.
(This attack should finally be enough to awaken the power of the sloth.)
"O'a." – said ClownFrog while walking away from the cliff.
"Yes boss?"
"How are the troops doing? Are they ready?"
"Yea. The demons are ready."
"Good."
ClownFrog began summoning undeads as well as the elemental monsters alongside the manifested dragon monsters, preparing his new army for the battle.
Before long, ClownFrog created the last elemental dragon monster, finishing his army of the summoned monsters.
"Well then, I guess its time for us to start going on the rampage again."
"Murder them all."
ClownFrog alongside his army that was hiding in the forest had now emerged and were running at full speed towards the town while ClownFrog alongside the succubus and the flying monsters were going on ahead.
It didn't really took long or anything for the town forces to spot the ClownFrog.
The town raised its alarms and the people hid inside the town while the guards prepared for the combat.
ClownFrog continue flying and before long, the archers and the mages began firing at the ClownFrog, forcing the necromancer the deploy his barrier to protect himself from the projectiles.
However, there was one thing that the town forgot.
ClownFrog wasn't the only one with huge firepower.
Zod who was on the ground had charged up his attack and fired it from afar, shooting beam breath from his mouth that flew directly to the city and hit the town walls.
The town wall didn't collapses since it was reinforced with magic as well as the fact that the barrier magic was deployed, however the shock did ended up shaking the wall a bit and distraction the defenders, allowing ClownFrog to launch his own counter attack.
ClownFrog used the skill [Necro Volley] to fire coulters bullets of the necrotic energy at the town, now forcing the mages to defend themselves from him.
However, while the mages were focused on the ClownFrog, they straight up forgotten about the Hera and the succubus who used the distraction to flew to the side unnoticed and began barraging the town walls with their magic.
But both Hera and ClownFrog were distractions.
The real attack was the main army who was still closing in towards the city.
The giant goat demons were running towards the city while throwing the balls of demonic fire towards the town while O'a himself ran ahead towards the town.
However, while ClownFrog group was assaulting the town, his first group that consisted the elite monsters were currently engaging in the fight with the huge group of soldiers.
"…."
"How are the things looking?" – asked the tall man in the eyepatch.
"Well, not good I'm being honestly. Those are some strong undeads in the mix and we don't- "
Before the soldier could finish speaking, a giant damaged undead beast monster called the gusted vulture appeared out of nowhere and flew towards the man, but the man quickly swinged the blade as soon as the undead beast got closer.
The man blade send out a wave of the dark energy that straight up cut the beast in half and instantly killed the beasts.
"Tch."
"You said that whole ClownFrog is a big deal and everything, but is that all?" – said the man with the eye patch.
"Careful mercenary." – said the noble man knight.
"Those things are apparently most dangerous when they are near the necromancer."
"…. Then this means that this guy isn't here. If he was then those bastards would be way harder to be dealt with."
"…. It doesn't look like he run away…... It was distraction…..." – said the eyepatches man.
"Distraction?" – asked the noble knight.
"Yea…. Fuck it I'm joining in."
"I don't need to hold back against those bastards, can I?"
"…. No."
"All we need is the master of those beasts."
"Good…. I was already getting bored already."
"But just make sure you bastards pay me handsomely for saving your soldiers asses, alright?" – said the eye patched man while taking out his sword and hammer and then covering it with dark energy.
"You will be paid, just like the third prince himself said."
"Unless you will get cold feets."
"…."
The eyepatches mercery put his sword right next to the man throat, catching him completely off guard.
"Watch your tongue, boy."
"Or do you want me to gut you?"
"Considering that you are just some nobody, I don't think the prince will mind getting rid of you."
"?!"
"Y-you! You wouldn't!" – said the panicking knight.
"…."
"Tch." – said the merchant before removing his blade.
"I'm the guy in charge here. So, listen what I say here…. Unless you want to disappoint your deal prince."
"…."
"Fine."
"…Good."
"Anyway, I wonder if that whole ClownFrog is the hot shit everybody is talking about. Maybe he will be an interesting challenge."
