Chapter 223 - 224 – Orc kingdom capital city.
With the current situation, the demon lord army without any rest began attacking the territories that were taken by the empire.
However, they again abandoned large portion of the land and even the captives they had captured before had told us what happened.
They just left.
By the look of things, they don't care anymore if they lose any more terrain.
But they will definitely not let us take back area around the sea, since if they do, then its game over for them.
This is bit problematic however.
They compressed their defenses to the maximum now, meaning that the battle will be much harder than we though.
Securing the territory isn't our goal right now, but the empire eradication and these guys seem to realize that.
And so, all of our forces gathered to confront the empire forces one more, hoping it will be the last time.
The target is the capital city of the orcish kingdom.
Their capital city is right next to the sea, but its straight up heavily guarded as well as its a biggest city in their kingdom.
Not only its biggest city that belonged to their kingdom, but it's also a naval base as well as fortress.
Apparently, they made it this way since they were facing a nonstop threat of the monsters from the land and sea, but now it's all the history.
But this place is still left.
"This place however ended up becoming a tourist attraction as well as important place for the merchants." – said the orc covered in wounds as well as missing eye.
[Chief A'A – Half brother of the late king who died when the empire attacked. – Rescued by the general few days ago.]
"The city itself may become a place for merchant, but it was still an important city for our people and it helped us develop a lot." – said A'A while speaking with the ClownFrog, GreyHunt and the general in their tent.
"So even though it wasn't really used as the fortress, it was still powerful."
"The empire used a lot of their forces to even break though our land defenses, but their surprise attack ended up landing their victory."
"The city itself was damaged quiet a bit and people who were captured were forced to repair it."
"Not only that, they have some sort of metal golems that were helping out in repairs."
"…"
"This is new." – said GreyHunt.
"None of us encounter any golem monsters."
"Probably because depending on the golem type, it takes time for them to move around." – said the general.
"Did they looked like some sort of gorillas? A giant arms or like they were using their own arms to support themselves?" – asked ClownFrog.
"Em… Yes?" – replied the orc.
"Hm… Then general was right. These ones are probably some brute types." – said GreyHunt.
"They probably left these golems in order to defend the city since it's their main base right now and losing it would end up hindering any of their future plans of conquest."
"So pretty much, if we take it back and beat the empire there, then its game over for them, right?" – said ClownFrog.
"Pretty much." – replied GreyHunt.
"But general, I have question."
"What about the naval forces? From what I know, the empire ships can do long range bombardment, meaning won't they have a chance to bombard us?"
"Yes, this is problematic." – said the general.
"Probably one of the reasons why they gave on the land was to put their line of the defense here where their ships are."
"Even if we take back the city, the ships can still attack us and deal a lot of damage, even forcing us to run away and letting empire to take it back."
"So honestly the fortress isn't the worst, but the ships are. As long as they are here, its physically impossible to take back the city from the empire. If we take it back, they will just bombard us and then they will just reclaim it. Pretty much, they have the city as hostage while those ships are around."
"…"
"Well then, lets split up." – said ClownFrog.
"GreyHunt."
"Yes boss?"
"You, Oron, Rampage as well as Lil and her buddies alongside the Litle Bastards will attack the ships."
"Me, Shri and Blueberry are needed at the frontlines and the enemy is extremely wary of us in the first place, so they would panic a bit and try to search for us if we were not present on the field."
"Will you be able to do it?"
"Heh. Don't look down on me." – said GreyHunt.
"You were hogging too much of the spot light recently and now it's my turn shine."
"Well then general, do you approve of this plan?" – asked ClownFrog.
"…Yes. Just make sure that those ships are out of the picture or make them at least not able to launch the bombardment."
"As you wish." – replied ClownFrog and GreyHunt before leaving the tent.
"…."
"Hey GreyHunt." – said ClownFrog while walking alongside GreyHunt.
"What is it?"
"…"
"I've been thinking…."
"Would you mind becoming our guild vice guild master?"
"?!"
"That… Came out of the blue?" – said confused GreyHunt.
"Yea… Sorry, but I need to talk with you about it."
"Now that our guild had grown a lot, it would have been better if we had a solid vice guild master."
"I'm not saying that Shri isn't good vice guild master, but you are one of the strongest members of our guild, even among us 6. Not only that, you are good commander and everything, so you know…. You fit pretty well."
"I know you didn't wanted to take that position since it was a bother and all, but now we probably need somebody like you."
"You can take your- "
"Okay."
"Excuse me?" – said confused ClownFrog.
"I said okay."
"I didn't wanted to do it because it was annoying, but if you say it like that, then I guess I need to agree."
"With our current size, its better if somebody replace Shri."
"By the way, how she will react to getting demoted?" – asked GreyHunt.
"Meh.
I don't think she would make fuss about it, since she never even did anything like vice guild master duty or anything and pretty much the only reason why she got that position was because she was forced to since others didn't wanted it, but maybe let's have the talk about this after we are done with the empire and complete that "Thing", just in case she would like to duel you or something to keep the position."
"Anyway, lets just prepare for the fight soon, since it will be probably a long fight, so get ready."
The preparation for the finally siege went underway as the demon lord army prepared themselves.
Before long, the demon lord army was ready to fight.
"CHARGE!" – shouted the general.
The army of the monsters led by the ClownFrog and his guild began charging straight at the enemy.
The giants as well as corpless were also running with them as well as the demon and vampire soldiers.
The players of the demonic kingdom were also present and were also charging straight at the enemy and before long.
One the empire side there was countless knights, soldiers, golems, cavalry as well as many mages and archers that ended up boosting the city defenses many times over.
Most of the empire forces that were left were now located in this place in order to defend their current main base.
Few moments later, the demonic kingdom as well as the empire had finally began clashing.
ClownFrog and his guild members began killing the empire soldiers left and right, but-
"?!"
ClownFrog heard many screams and sound of rumbling on his right and when he did looked in that direction, he ended up seeing many of the green armored riders just destroying the corpless monsters and the soldiers with ease with their monster's horse as well as their lances.
(Green armor, I don't really need to think about it, they are green riders.) – though ClownFrog.
"Shri, Blueberry. Deal with this guys here, I will have to go and deal with some annoyance personally." – said ClownFrog before turning the killed empire soldiers into the dead desert undeads.
Meanwhile while the situation at the frontlines had finally turned chaotic, GreyHunt and his team was making their way through south, h heading straight towards the city northern part of the city.
"…"
"So, what now?" – asked Rampage.
The group found themselves outside the city walls on top of the random hill where they could see both the wall as well as the empire ships in the docks.
"Its way more heavily defended than we expected." – said Oron.
"The only way to break in would be the head on, but that would 100% alarm them of our presence."
"Then do you have any other options?" – asked GreyHunt.
"No matter what we do, we will alarm the enemy, especially when we would get to the docks." – said GreyHunt while looking though his spy glass and noticing many people walking around the docks.
"However, there are also other problems."
"It kind of look like that situation when we invaded the Stone city, but it's much different."
"The enemy focus on the defense instead of victory, so we will 100% end up fighting a lot of enemies."
"Pretty much, sneak attack would not work at all and we would end up being spotted."
"Since the sneak attack won't work, we will have way more trouble and not only that, the boss isn't here, so we don't have an huge army that would create chaos."
"Not only that, we have time limit where we need to deal with the ships before they take over the city or their attack will be failed."
"There is also the fact that the empire need to defend their war ships at all cost, even more than this city."
"So we need to break though the city defenses before we can even get to the ships."
"So, yea, this only look similar to the Stone city siege on the outside, but in reality, it's nothing like that."
"…."
"Wait, then should the rest of the guild be here?" – asked Rampage.
"I know that the general lent us the soldiers and the corpless, but it would have been great if the boss was here, he could just go on rampage and create us an opening."
"Nope. He needed to be at the frontlines." – said GreyHunt while putting away his spy glass.
"However, this time we are the main actors."
"Our goal isn't the city but the ships."
"Once they are gone, we will win."
"And do you really think we will fail?"
"We are way stronger than when we invaded the Stone city."
"Not only our guild grew in size."
"This may be a way bigger scale compare to the Stone city, but the boss trust us that we will do it."
"So get ready."
"This time we will be the ones making the shit tons of chaos."
