Eternal Life by Daily Divination

Chapter 864 - 385: Monopolizing the Treasure, the Eerie Rift Reappears

Li Chang’an looked toward the fourth branching path. The object that had stirred a connection within him lay at its deepest end.

White Tiger True Monarch suddenly spoke up. "Everyone, the treasure in my hand points to the ninth path. What about yours?"

Cyan Dragon True Monarch nodded. "The Cyan Dragon Eye also points to the ninth."

The treasures held by Zi Xia, Vermilion Bird, and the others all pointed to the ninth path as well. Evidently, deep within that path lay a treasure of immense value—highly likely the Qi Fortune Divine Altar. They were unanimous in their decision to head down the ninth path.

However, Li Chang’an trusted his own senses. He cupped his hands. "Everyone, I plan to take the fourth path."

Hearing this, the crowd was somewhat surprised. Zi Xia True Monarch asked, "Daoist Lin, do you possess some special treasure-hunting artifact?"

"I do not."

"Then do you have a special Treasure Hunting Talent or constitution?"

"Neither."

"Since you have neither, why not join us on the ninth path?" Zi Xia True Monarch invited in a gentle tone.

Her implication was clear. If Li Chang’an chose the fourth path, he would likely end up with nothing and return empty-handed. In response, Li Chang’an merely stated, "I have a premonition. I should be able to obtain a decent treasure in the fourth path."

"Just a premonition?" The group exchanged glances. Premonitions lacked any real basis and had always been rather unreliable.

After some discussion, Li Chang’an left alone, entering the fourth branching path. The others watched his departing figure with varying expressions.

Cyan Dragon True Monarch slowly remarked, "As a Loose Cultivator, Daoist Lin must be used to acting alone. He refuses to trust outsiders."

White Tiger True Monarch added, "Leave him be. We cannot afford to waste time. Let us find that Qi Fortune Divine Altar as soon as possible."

"Agreed!"

The group immediately sprang into action, marching into the ninth path.

As Li Chang’an ventured deeper into the fourth path, the resonance in his heart grew increasingly intense. Suddenly, his body froze. On the surrounding murals, he had spotted a second familiar silhouette.

"The Eternal Green Vine?"

Li Chang’an fixed his gaze intently on one of the murals. It depicted a massive battle. A majestic cyan vine rooted in the earth was brandishing tens of thousands of its tendrils, engaged in fierce combat with an endless horde of Alien Race experts.

"With so many vines, what Tier of Evergreen Vine could this be?" Li Chang’an wondered in secret astonishment.

The Eternal Green Vine he had cultivated on Changqing Mountain using countless treasures only had a little over a hundred tendrils to this day. The Evergreen Vine in the mural was clearly vastly superior to his. He even felt that this Evergreen Vine was more powerful than the one belonging to the Ancient Wood Sect. Although he had no tangible point of comparison, the intuition was undeniable.

In the depiction, numerous tendrils impaled the bodies of the Alien Race experts. Those bodies hung from the vines, looking shriveled and withered, as if the Evergreen Vine had devoured all their strength.

"The Evergreen Vine can indeed devour the power hidden within flesh and blood. A battlefield like this would be much more suitable for its growth," he murmured.

After a brief moment of thought, Li Chang’an pressed deeper. Not long after, he stopped again. This time, he saw a third familiar figure.

"The Nine-leaf Sword Lily!"

On a mural to his left, there was an orchid with nine leaves. It looked almost identical to the Nine-leaf Sword Lily he had taken from the Mu Family. This Nine-leaf Sword Lily was similarly engaged in battle against its enemies. Facing it were nine mighty experts, their bodies shrouded in a hazy halo of light.

"If nurtured properly, the Nine-leaf Sword Lily is equivalent to nine Peerless Swordsmen."

Li Chang’an tore his gaze away and lingered no longer. Turning into a blur, he rapidly closed the distance to the source of his resonance. Along the way, he successively spotted over a dozen different, powerful Spirit Plants, which were likely all Heaven and Earth Spirit Roots. With his current breadth of knowledge, he could only recognize a few; the rest were completely unfamiliar. However, he memorized the appearances of all these Heaven and Earth Spirit Roots. In the future, he could use these visual characteristics to seek them out.

Before long, Li Chang’an reached the very end of the passageway. Unfolding before his eyes was a massive Underground Space.

"Is that the Qi Fortune Divine Altar?"

Li Chang’an’s eyes grew profound as he looked toward the center of the space. There stood a five-colored altar reaching a staggering nine hundred and ninety-nine zhang in height. This was exactly what had triggered his resonance. Scattered around the altar were numerous decayed corpses, each exuding a distinctly heavy aura of ancient time.

"It seems a great battle took place here."

Li Chang’an surveyed the entire area. Scattered around those corpses were quite a few treasures used for Magical Combat. Maintaining his vigilance, he didn’t rush in to collect the treasures directly. Instead, he released a Puppet and manipulated it to approach one of the corpses.

"Thank you for the treasures, Senior."

Li Chang’an bowed to the corpse, then reached out and touched the Storage Pouch on its body. He erased the restriction on the Storage Pouch and opened it. There weren’t many treasures inside, and most of them were bodily materials from the Alien Race—such as scales, feathers, sharp claws, and bones. Some were at Tier Four and could be used for Artifact Refining.

"Good. No unexpected dangers."

Next, Li Chang’an controlled dozens of Puppets, continuously picking up the scattered treasures and Storage Pouches. In a short while, only a pile of rotting corpses remained in the area. He opened the numerous Storage Pouches and rapidly inspected the treasures within. Soon, he spotted the very objective of his trip.

"The Thousand Poison Marrow!"

With a thought, Li Chang’an took it out. The item was freezing to the touch and entirely dark green. It looked like a crystal, with a viscous blob of dark green liquid sluggishly flowing inside.

The Ten Thousand Poison Gu instantly scurried out from his sleeve. His face was filled with excitement, his eyes shining brightly as if he had just seen a peerlessly beautiful bug, and he lunged straight at it.
