Chapter 863 - 385: Monopolizing the Treasure, the Eerie Rift Reappears

In the end, only two tunnel entrances still emitted a faint light. Under everyone’s watchful eyes, the light from these two entrances vanished almost simultaneously.

"Follow me!" Blood River True Monarch didn’t hesitate for a second. He instantly transformed into a streak of bloody light and darted into one of the tunnels. Qian Shi, Ten Thousand Souls, and the others closely followed him inside.

Evidently, they had deduced that this tunnel would lead them to the deepest part of the underground to find the Qi Fortune Divine Altar.

The remaining cultivators exchanged glances before finally turning to Ming Xia True Monarch. She made a prompt decision.

"We will take the other tunnel."

"Alright!"

The group descended into the depths together. It wasn’t long before they had followed the passageway tens of thousands of feet deep underground.

The walls around them were pitch-black, made of an unknown, incomparably hard material that even Nascent Soul Magical Power could not dent. The path below remained deep and gloomy, its true depth a mystery.

Suddenly, Li Chang’an felt a sensation in his heart. Deep underground, something seemed to share a similar trait with him, resonating from afar.

"The Qi Fortune Divine Altar?" Li Chang’an wondered thoughtfully.

His Qi fortune had always been quite good, and after becoming the Dragon Ox Master, it had skyrocketed countless times over. He had no idea just how formidable his Qi fortune was now, but he was guaranteed to stumble upon treasures whenever he went out.

"Since the Qi Fortune Divine Altar is related to Qi fortune, it might be drawn to me, though it could also be something else," Li Chang’an guessed secretly.

While he was lost in thought, Cyan Dragon True Monarch suddenly spoke up. "My Cyan Dragon Eye has sensed the presence of a treasure deep underground. Perhaps we have chosen the right path."

Hearing this, the others felt their spirits lift. Without a moment’s pause, they continued their descent into the dark earth.

Before long, White Tiger, Vermilion Bird, Zi Xia True Monarch, and the rest also sensed the treasure’s presence. The deeper they went, the clearer the sensation became. Li Chang’an’s own connection grew equally distinct.

"It seems we chose the right path. Blood River and the other Demon Cultivators are just wasting their efforts," he pondered silently, keeping his own sensations to himself.

A while later, the rock walls around the tunnel were no longer pitch-black, gradually fading into a dark red hue. Numerous murals were carved into these crimson walls.

The scenes depicted in the murals belonged to an unknown era, many showcasing Human Race Cultivators waging war against the Alien Race. Among the myriad Human Race Cultivators, five figures stood out prominently. They were depicted as towering and majestic, enveloped in a hazy halo of light, seemingly acting as the leaders of the human forces.

"It seems the Five Emperors Era truly existed," Ming Xia True Monarch and the others remarked one after another. "These five must be the Emperors who led the Human Race to conquer the Ten Thousand Races."

Li Chang’an, however, was somewhat confused. "Everyone, what is the Five Emperors Era?" he asked aloud.

"Daoist Lin, do you know the history before the Great Jin Immortal Dynasty?"

"I do not." Li Chang’an shook his head.

Ming Xia True Monarch immediately explained it to him.

"According to some Ancient Texts, before the Great Jin Immortal Dynasty unified the Cultivation Immortality Realm, the entire realm did not belong to the Human Race.

"At that time, the Ten Thousand Races stood in great numbers, and the Human Race was merely one of them..." she told Li Chang’an.

The beings they now called the "Alien Race," just like the Human Race and the Demon Race, were all part of the former Ten Thousand Races. Back then, the Human Race was still incredibly weak. A few Ancient Texts described humans as mere blood-food, kept in captivity by the stronger races.

Later, five supreme experts emerged from nowhere. They led the Human Race to rise step by step, fighting the experts of the Ten Thousand Races and defeating enemies from all sides, ultimately establishing the Human Race’s status as a mighty faction.

The names and titles of those five experts had long blurred in the river of time. The Ancient Texts only recorded the title of "Five Emperors." As for the era they lived in, some Ancient Texts referred to it as the "Five Emperors Era," while others called it "Ancient Times."

The reason the Great Jin Immortal Dynasty was able to unify the Cultivation Immortality Realm was precisely because generations of human ancestors had overcome insurmountable odds, conquering one powerful race after another to elevate the Human Race to the supreme ruler over the Ten Thousand Races.

"The Qi Fortune Divine Altar we seek today was built in Ancient Times.

"It should have been constructed to gather the Human Race’s Qi fortune. Although such a thing is invisible and intangible, the stronger a race’s Qi fortune, the easier it is for a Celestial Pride to be born..."

While Ming Xia True Monarch was recounting this history, Li Chang’an continuously observed the murals on the surrounding stone walls. These murals closely matched her descriptions. Not only did they feature scenes of the Human Race conquering the Ten Thousand Races, but they also depicted the humans’ initial enslavement, shown being treated as blood-food.

Gradually, Li Chang’an sensed a hint of strangeness. Out of the five Emperors depicted in the murals, one gave him a distinct feeling of familiarity, as if he had seen the figure somewhere before.

These five Emperors were separated from the present day by an unfathomable amount of time. They belonged to an era even older than the Great Jin Immortal Dynasty. Why would they make him feel familiar?

"This is truly strange," Li Chang’an thought, completely baffled.

The one who felt familiar to him was the first of the Five Emperors. In every mural, this person’s body appeared blurry and hazy, making it impossible to see their true appearance, yet inexplicably, they still looked familiar.

He secretly sent a Sound Transmission to Zi Xia True Monarch. "Daoist Zi Xia, do the contents of these murals give you any sense of familiarity?"

"Familiarity?" Zi Xia True Monarch’s eyes narrowed slightly as she swept her gaze over the numerous murals, before giving a slight shake of her head. She replied via Sound Transmission, "Daoist Lin, the era in these murals is likely separated from us by hundreds of thousands of years. How could there be any sense of familiarity?"

"True." Li Chang’an didn’t say anything further, essentially confirming that this sense of familiarity was his alone.

Zi Xia True Monarch cast a puzzled glance at him but refrained from asking more.

A short while later, a fork appeared ahead of the group. The main tunnel branched out into over a dozen diverging paths, leaving them clueless as to which one would lead to the deepest part where the Qi Fortune Divine Altar lay.
