Chapter 168: Resurrection
Adonis was in a state of despair, holding the woman who had stood by his side from the very beginning. His tears were not of water, but of blood. Feeling the cold, lifeless body of Millia in his arms, his mind refused to function.
Just then, the Chaos Sword transformed into the purple flame spirit, Vexa.
"Master!" she called out.
There was no response.
She pouted, placing her hands on her hips. "MASTER!" This time she shouted so loudly that all other noise was drowned out.
Adonis finally turned to look at her with those blood-red eyes.
Vexa began to speak. "Master, why are you acting as if you have lost everything? You have other women waiting for your return."
Adonis’s eyes turned cold at once. "What did you say?" he growled like a devil. "Millia wasn’t just one of many women; she was the only woman I have come to love since my mother. When I had the support of no one, she stood by my side. I love her more than any other woman in this world."
Vexa pursed her lips. "Don’t lecture me, Master. If you love her so much, why haven’t you given her official status as your wife yet? Why haven’t you made her your primary wife? If you had, she wouldn’t have had to suffer like this. You could have protected her from divine intervention."
Adonis’s face froze as he realized she was right. He recognized how contradictory his own words now sounded to his ears. If I really loved her so much, why haven’t I made her the main wife instead of Mariana?
But he also knew there was no point in overthinking that right now.
"Vexa, I realize my mistake. Is there a way to bring her back to life?" he asked.
She nodded, her eyes sparkling. "There is, and you already know about it. You just need to fix your jumbled brain. I can’t believe the provocative words of a lower god shook your heart so much."
Adonis lowered his head in shame, but urgency took priority. "Are you talking about the Resurrection Fruit? But I don’t have one million Harem Points to buy it."
"Then you must borrow some. It’s as simple as that," she replied simply.
Adonis was confused. "From whom should I borrow? I don’t see any options in the system that allow me to borrow points."
Vexa touched her chest with smug confidence. "From me, of course. You might not know this, but I have an infinite amount of Harem Points."
"...?"
"That’s right. It is I who grant you those points in tiny amounts so that you can grow without relying too much on this function. External items don’t make you truly strong; it is your heart that makes you truly strong."
Ding!

[Total Harem Force: 1,087,000 ]
"This is like dream!"
Out of sheer, unadulterated happiness, Adonis lunged forward and swept the purple spirit into a crushing embrace.
He squeezed her so tightly that her ethereal form flickered, her small hands batting at his shoulders as she let out a muffled, squeaking sound of protest.
"Master! Stop! You are literally suffocating a spirit to death!" Vexa cried out in difficulty.
"Ah, sorry, sorry!"
When he finally let her go, Adonis was laughing through his bloody tears, his eyes wild with a newfound hope.
Vexa straightened her ruffled robes and smoothed her hair, her translucent cheeks flushed with a deep, shy violet. She cleared her throat and looked away, trying to regain her usual composure despite the clear embarrassment written across her face.
"Do not think this is a habit, Master," she muttered, waving her hand toward the system interface. "I am only doing this because the script of this world would be far too boring without her."
Without a second of hesitation, Adonis opened the Harem Shop and navigated to the restricted items section.
There, glowing with a soft, pulsating light, was the Resurrection Fruit.
Description: "A fruit grown from the tears of the first Goddess and the blood of a King. It is the ultimate ’Undo’ button for the laws of mortality. To eat it is to tell the God of Death that his services are no longer required today."
With further ado, he confirmed the purchase, and a vibrant green fruit, shaped like a heart and smelling of morning dew and ancient forests, materialized in his palm.
He turned back to Millia’s cold, motionless form. His hands shook as he brought the fruit to her lips, which were still stained with that horrific black foam.
He crushed the fruit between his fingers, allowing the luminous, emerald juice to trickle down her throat. The liquid didn’t just flow; it seemed to seek out the cracks in her essence, glowing brighter as it touched her skin.
Slowly, the dark, toxic clouds within her eyes began to dissolve. The black fluid that had leaked from her mouth evaporated into thin air, replaced by a warm, golden radiance.
Adonis watched with bated breath as the fragmented shards of her soul, which had been drifting toward the void, pulled back together like magnets.
"Haaaaah!" The silence of the chamber was broken by a single, sharp gasp of air.
Millia’s chest heaved, and her eyes snapped open. They were no longer black voids, but the deep, soulful brown he had cherished since the first day she served him. She blinked slowly, looking up at his tear-streaked face with confusion that quickly melted into recognition.
"Adonis?" she whispered, voice weak. "I had a dream... a dream where you weren’t present.."
Adonis didn’t say a word. He pulled her into his chest, burying his face in her hair as he sobbed with relief. This wasn’t the fake embrace of an illusion or a scripted victory; he could feel the heat of her skin and the frantic, beautiful beat of her heart against his own.
Millia wrapped her arms around his neck, holding him just as tightly, her own tears beginning to fall as she realized she had returned from the brink of the abyss.
"I’m sorry, sweetheart," Adonis choked out because of overwhelming emotion. "I’m never letting you go again. From this moment on, you are the Queen of my heart and the primary wife of my kingdom. No god or architect will ever touch you again."
Vexa watched from the side, and a genuine smile finally graced her lips as the two souls merged in a desperate emotional union.
The Golden Cube was in ruins, and a divine enemy was watching from the higher realms, but for a brief moment in the darkness of the Necro-Lands, love had rewritten the laws of the world.
