The battles on the other towers ended quickly once the news of the Serpent King’s defeat reached everyone’s ears. The powerful elite serpentoids, who were just about to strike Rai and the other women, paused abruptly. Soon, news of an unconditional surrender arrived from the upper echelons.
In total, about 4,000 active warriors of the Serpent King and 13,000 commoner citizens fell under this surrender. Everything was sorted out during the night.
The next morning:
Adonis walked to the chief’s seat (the Serpent Skull) and sat down with regal, effortless grace, his handsome face shining radiantly under the bright sunlight. He looked at the assembled Sky Serpents and all of his subordinates, then spoke:
"I have seized all resources, including the Sky Palace itself. Naturally, this pocket dimension will return with me. But do not worry; those who lost their houses and surrendered to Dragonia may come and live with us, provided they adhere to our conditions of peace and prosperity. We will begin our march at noon. If anyone has something to say, speak now!"
His multicolored gaze swept over everyone present.
One of the elder serpents stepped forward, bowing respectfully.
"First of all, thank you for taking us under your shelter, Your Majesty. I have a tiny concern in my heart," the old serpentoid hesitated.
"Go on," Adonis said, curious.
The old serpent looked toward the ancient forest beneath them. "Your Majesty, there is an ancient passageway in that forest which is rumored to be the gateway to the God Realm, though I am not certain. But you should at least seal that gateway before leaving. Otherwise, some of our traitorous kin who ran away like cowards will return and might do something harmful to you."
Adonis was a little doubtful. "God Realm? It sounds shady."
Queen Sapphira stepped in. "This old serpent speaks the truth, my husband. There is indeed a Transcendental Grade portal in that cave. I have verified it. The ancient myths say the first gods came through that portal and granted top-notch Soul Weapons to their early devotees, beginning an Era of Swords and Gods."
Realization dawned on Adonis. Oh right. The beginning was something like this. I almost forgot, he thought inwardly. But honestly, even I don’t know who they are or where they came from. After all, I only wrote the beginning in vague mentions, as only Ascalon and Emperion were the real main characters.
"Still, the God Realm feels too important to ignore. Who knows I might learn something about my origin, or maybe the whereabouts of Ascalon and Emperion."
Adonis rose from the Serpent Skull throne, his presence commandingly absolute. The prospect of a gateway to the God Realm was a variable he could not leave unchecked. If his own writing had been vague on the details, the reality of this world was far more tangible and dangerous.
"Lead the way," Adonis commanded the elder serpent. "If this portal is as significant as the myths suggest, it requires more than just a simple seal."
The descent into the Great Ancient Forest was a somber affair. The army stayed behind to begin the massive logistical task of moving the survivors and the Sky Palace itself, while Adonis, Sapphira, and a small elite guard descended into the shadows of the giant trees. They reached a cavern hidden behind a waterfall of liquid mana, where the air hummed with a frequency that made the soul vibrate.
In the center of the cavern stood the gateway.
This was the Transcendental Grade portal, a bridge between the mortal world and the mysterious higher planes.
"I can feel it. The power behind this door is ancient. It feels like the breath of the world itself," Sapphira whispered.
Adonis stepped forward, his hand glowing with the purple, concentrated energy of the Chaos.
He accessed the Harem Shop mentally, selecting a high-tier containment item he had been eyeing for emergencies.
[ Item: Seal of the Abyssal Sovereign (S-Rank) ]
[ Price: 15,000 Harem Force ]
[ Description: A permanent sealing array that locks space-time coordinates. Only the host can dissolve the seal. ]
[ Remaining Harem Force: 41,550 / 100,000 ]
He didn’t hesitate. He slammed his palm against the center of the portal.
Instantly a massive, obsidian-colored magic circle erupted from the point of contact, spreading across the stone arch like a freezing liquid.
The runes of the God Realm screamed in a high-pitched tone before they were smothered by the weight of the S-Grade seal. Chains of shadow wrapped around the gateway, pulling it into a state of permanent space-timr halt.
"It is done," Adonis declared, "If the gods wish to return now, they will have to ask my permission first."
With the potential threat neutralized, the return to the surface marked the beginning of the grand exodus.
At noon, the sky above the Great Ancient Forest was filled with the most magnificent sight the world had seen in centuries. The Sky Palace, now untethered from its ancient anchor, began to drift through the clouds like a celestial fortress. Surrounding it were thousands of dragons, their wings creating a rhythmic thunder that could be heard for miles.
The march back to Dragonia was not a quiet journey. Word had spread through the communication steles, and by the time the vanguard reached the borders of the Dragon Kingdom, the roads were lined with thousands of citizens.
They weren’t just dragons. Humans and some demi humans too.
As the Sky Palace arrived on the mountains surrounding the capital, the bells of Dragonia began to toll in a celebratory cadence.
The Pandemonium’s Has Returned. But with glory.
