Chapter 113: You Are Drugged
**************
Chapter 113
~Jade’s POV~
I let out a breath, forcing my expression to remain neutral despite the way my pulse spiked.
"I’m okay," I said, trying to sound steady. "Just dizzy."
They exchanged looks, smirks forming on their faces like lecherous bastards.
"Yeah, we can see that," the second guy replied. "Come on. We’ll help you."
Help? Right.
I shrugged against the one holding me, trying to pull free, but their grip tightened almost instantly.
"Let’s take you somewhere you can relax," the guy at the top of the stairs with the absolutely idiotic face added.
My stomach turned. They did not wait for my approval and started moving, dragging me toward the stairwell.
I struggled harder now, my fingers clawing at their hands, my body fighting against theirs, but with every passing second, my strength felt like it was slipping through my fingers.
My purse fell. I barely noticed, but the heat in my body intensified as my vision blurred further and my limbs grew heavier.
Damn it. The cold air rushed through my skin the moment we stepped outside. And for a brief second, everything cleared long enough for me to see clearly.
My fingers balled into a fist. That was all the time I needed. I moved fast, twisting my body sharply, grabbing the guy closest to me before using his own weight against him and slamming him hard onto the ground.
He hit with a grunt. Before he could recover, I drove my heel into his ribs. A sharp crack echoed faintly, making him cry out.
The others reacted instantly. One lunged, but I ducked, my movements slightly delayed but still precise enough. My gown restricted my legs, the slit helping but not enough. I grabbed the fabric and yanked it higher, freeing my movement before driving my elbow back into his chest.
He staggered.
Right now I was extremely glad for my training with Lady Ember and my mates. Another he goat came from the side.
I turned too late, his grip catching my arm as he tried to restrain me. I twisted against him, ignoring the dizziness, and slammed my head forward just enough to break his hold before shoving him back.
My breathing grew heavier. My vision flickered.
Focus.
I had to focus. The last one rushed me. I planted my foot, gathering what little strength I had left before throwing a punch straight into his jaw.
He went down hard as I gathered my breath. For a wretched second, silence followed, and everything stilled.
"Arrrhh!" I cried out, feeling the overwhelming heat slam into me, and the need to take off my clothes became excruciatingly painful.
"Stop fighting," Javelin voiced in alarm. "The more you exert yourself, the faster the drug works and the less powerful you are to control...."
She had barely finished talking when I felt the rush of air behind me. Another body dropped.
I half-turned, my vision struggling to catch up and froze when I saw Xavier. He stood there, my purse in his hand, his blue eyes darkening, getting colder than I had ever seen them.
Relief washed through me, but it didn’t last, because the next second the world tilted and I fell.
However, I never hit the ground.
Strong arms caught me before I could fall, pulling me firmly against a solid chest. The impact knocked the breath from my lungs, but the moment I registered who it was, something inside me loosened.
Xavier.
His grip tightened instinctively, one hand bracing my back while the other steadied my thigh.
His touch was firm, controlled, but the second his palm pressed against my skin, a sharp wave of heat shot through me.
I gasped, not from pain, but from something else entirely.
His body stilled, and I felt it. The shift, the way his nose brushed lightly against my temple as he inhaled slowly, then his entire frame went rigid.
"Jade..." His voice dropped, darker and rougher than I had ever heard it.
I didn’t care. The drug’s effect finally took hold.
My body burned, every nerve ending suddenly hypersensitive, every inch of my skin aware of him. The place where his hand rested on my thigh felt like it was on fire, the sensation spreading, pooling low in my stomach in a way that made my breath hitch.
A soft, breathless sound slipped from my lips.
"Xavier..." I whispered.
My fingers curled into his shirt, clutching him as my body pressed closer without my permission. My head tilted back slightly, my lips brushing against his jaw as heat flooded through me.
"I want..." I breathed, my voice uneven. "I want you."
A small, helpless laugh slipped out of me as my hands moved on their own, reaching for him, fumbling with the buttons of his shirt.
"Jade, stop," he cautioned, his voice tight and strained as he caught my wrists gently but firmly. "You’re not thinking clearly."
I didn’t listen. I... I just couldn’t. Nothing mattered, not even how intoxicating his scent was, and the fact that Xavier, ever the composed triplet, was holding back as he had always, made my control snap.
I wanted to lose control, and I wanted him to do so, too.
My fingers slipped free, tugging at his tie instead, pulling him down toward me. His breath hitched as I closed the distance, and with no second to spare, my lips crashed against his.
The kiss wasn’t soft or hesitant. My mouth was hot against his, seeking and demanding.
And when his lips parted just slightly, I took advantage of it immediately, deepening the kiss without restraint.
My tongue pushed into his mouth, tasting and teasing his tongue the way I knew he loved, in the way I knew would make his mind go blank with want.
His tongue met mine, cool against the heat of my mouth, sending a sharp shiver down my spine that made my body arch into his.
I moaned into the kiss, and Xavier gave me free rein with his tongue.
For a second, he responded. Xavi’s grip tightened, his control slipping just enough for him to kiss me back, slower, deeper, like he was trying to ground me through it.
Then he pulled back. I whimpered in response, wanting more of the intoxication his tongue brought.
"Jade," he warned, his forehead pressing briefly against mine. "You’re drugged."
"I don’t care," I whispered, breathlessly. "Take me."
