Interstellar Beast Master

Chapter 55: Red II

Chapter 55: Red II

A Vagrant Beast Master howled in pain and fury as their Interstellar Beast was actually decimated by a single human.

Guardian Vex Talon was so terrifying that with his body alone, he used it like a weapon to pierce through the hardened shell of a Porcupine Interstellar Beast and kill it in a single strike.

A Beast Master... killed a Symbiotic Resonance Interstellar Beast with his own body!

And Vex Talon rose like a champion of blood from the corpse of the Interstellar Beast, shooting toward the crimson eagle in the distance. His body carved through the skies, impossibly fast- reaching them in less than a second.

"Do not be sad for your little beast... you will join it now as well."

...!

His words were horror-inducing and utterly terrifying as he landed on top of the crimson eagle carrying two Beast Masters. His fist punched out, and a massive ball of black flames erupted from him, bombarding them.

BOOM!

As if a high-impact explosion shattered the skies, the Vagrant Beast Masters howled, their skin scorched as they spiraled down and crashed into the streets below.

It was dread incarnate.

The move that the Drunken Butcher made only showed the depth of his terrifying strength- he was wiping out Symbiotic Resonance Interstellar Beast Masters as if they were nothing.

The man carrying the unconscious woman he’d saved from Club Skyspire was looking to make a quick exit.

As Damian watched the chaos unfold, his heart beat faster and faster. He gave a command to Kitsuul- and she vanished from his shoulder.

He told her to stay invisible now, to wait for the right moment. If an opportunity arose to help the escaping Vagrant Beast Masters, she should take it and then follow them wherever they went.

But she was never to put herself in danger. Never un-veil, not even for a second. If Vex Talon got close, she needed to be dozens of meters away already. And if it looked like no one could be saved? That was okay too- her life came first. She was not to jeopardize it.

The Vagrant Beast Masters gathered behind the one carrying the unconscious woman as they made their. At that moment, Vex Talon charged toward them while they tried to flee to the streets below, away from Club Skyspire.

Kitsuul was already veiled, trailing them in silence, her silver tails flickering like whispers of moonlight.

And above, the chaos began to ease. Beast Masters turned to clearing out the last of the rogue beasts, tending to the wounded.

Around them, the rhythmic drone of Enforcers and Drones filled the distance, and two news helicopters soared into the skies, capturing the devastation unraveling above.

For Damian, everything blurred. Blood. Shattered bodies. Screams of Glassbloods. The scene mirrored the one burned into him just weeks ago.

"This... this is what these Strays do... look at this!"

Ariana sat atop her Winged Peacock Lion, eyes flicking over the blood-soaked ruins as she called out with hatred.

Beside her, Alex nodded grimly.

"All Vagrant Beast Masters have to die. Cleansed out of Ebonreach Metropolis entirely!"

Their words were heavy, but in the wake of an attack that left an unknown number dead and injured, they didn’t hold back.

"Help me over here!"

Lyra Veyrin called out to Damian, kneeling beside a Glassblood with a spear impaled through their abdomen.

Blood was everywhere. Damian rushed in, applying pressure to the wound as silver light gushed from his hands, even though he doubted it would be enough.

Lyra looked down at the Glassblood and said with quiet urgency, "Medic Drones will be here soon. Hang in there."

Medic Drones.

As if summoned by her voice, their distinct hum overtook the others. While Enforcer Drones and helicopters hovered above, multiple units descended—each deploying an MD Android Bot that hit the ground running, targeting the most critical patients first.

The Medical Drones—Aegis Units—were deployed during mass casualty events, or whenever more than ten people were injured.

Sleek, angular, gliding on anti-gravity propulsion, they came equipped with adaptive triage scanners, retractable surgical arms, and nanobot dispersal pods.

Damian watched it all unfold as one hovered above them.

They were coded with trauma protocols and advanced AI. In moments, they were assessing vitals, prioritizing injuries, and already beginning care on the Glassblood with the spear wound.

He might survive.

But if this had happened in the Hollow Stacks to a Stackborn? Death would’ve been guaranteed. No drones would arrive. Not this fast. Not at all.

These drones synced in real-time with Skyglass Heights’ hospital command centers, transmitting patient data mid-flight. Their onboard defibrillators, hemostatic fields, and mobile blood synthesizers made them invaluable in chaos, war zones, or disasters—but only for Glassbloods.

Damian watched them at work, then finally sat back to catch his breath.

His mind tethered to his staple connection with Kitsuul, not knowing what was happening below—but he kept sending thoughts to remind her to stay safe.

She sent hers back.

Understood.

She was far away.

She had used her energy silently, steering Vex Talon’s black flames away—giving the Beast Master with the unconscious woman enough time to escape into the Hollow Stacks.

She kept sending updates, and he listened quietly.

"What a shit show."

Lyra Veyrin’s expression was grim as she sat beside him, sighing, battle-hardened eyes scanning the aftermath.

Moments like this stayed with you. They carved themselves in.

Damian looked over and said quietly, "First time?"

...!

Her brows lifted at the question. "Not the first time for you? Another Vagrant Beast Master attack?"

She held her blue slime close, eyes watchful even as Medic Drones worked around them. Damian gave a shallow nod.

"Something like that."

Yeah.

Something like that.

A Beast Master had destroyed lives on that wedding day. And to Damian, they were worse than any Vagrant Beast Master.

Lyra’s concern deepened. She leaned into him, resting her blue-haired head on his shoulder.

"Where’s little Kitsuul? Is she okay?"

She asked about the silver fox she couldn’t see. Damian nodded calmly.

"I sent her to check for injuries down below. Some debris fell hard as there might be others injured."

It was a cover. But it worked.

And then...

HUUM!

A Rhino-Bat Interstellar Beast rose once more, Guardian Vex Talon standing atop it with a dissatisfied look. He scanned the wreckage.

"A few rats got away... but is everyone else okay?"

His voice boomed across the shattered rooftop of Club Skyspire as his gaze locked onto the Trial Guardians of ZENTHRA- drawn to the white suit of the Serpent Queen.

Since they were all nearby, Vex Talon stepped off his beast and landed on the glittering shards of glass. He walked toward Serena, Lyra, Damian, and the others, eyes sweeping over them.

"You all okay? Didn’t expect to see my juniors here."

His voice was kind. His smile, almost warm, as he addressed the Trial Guardians.

He lingered a little longer on Ariana and Becca, his gaze sweeping up and down. He did the same with Serena and Lyra.

But Damian?

He got a sidelong glance for less than a second before his eyes moved away, not an ounce of recognition flashing within them.

Damian’s heart pounded.

So much had changed in a few weeks.

But to the Drunken Butcher... Damian had been so insignificant that he didn’t even remember him from back then!
