Interstellar Beast Master

Chapter 54: Red I

Chapter 54: Red I

When any disruptions occurred across the Ebonreach Metropolis.

When blood was shed and people needed saving!

When one was in the pits of despair... a Guardian would arrive.

And the Guardian that arrived right now, in response to this incident with Vagrant Beast Masters, was none other than Vex Talon!

And the moment he did appear, everything froze as even the garbed and shrouded Vagrant Beast Masters had their bodies visibly constrict from caution.

All of them... were Symbiotic Resonance Interstellar Beast Masters.

And yet they feared someone like Vex Talon because he exceeded them- at a stage of power above!

When Damian saw his rising figure and that massive Rhino-Bat Interstellar Beast, his whole world went red.

The Trial Guardians around him disappeared.

The noise and alarms disappeared.

He only saw that man and his Interstellar Beast as he was taken back to that day!

How he felt during that day.

The horror and the fear.

He felt so scared at the time that he had nearly broken down at the sight of the Interstellar Beast shredding everything apart.

And whenever he even thought of the Drunken Butcher himself, waves of fear and nightmares would wash over him!

All of this... he felt rushing in all at once.

Initially.

After the waves of fear, he remembered his soon-to-be wife who was shredded apart, and the rage came in like an endless red tide.

His silver eyes began to shine brightly as he almost howled and shot out right then and there, but because of this anger... his whole being radiated a unique signature.

A type of bloodlust.

And powerful beings... were very perceptive to bloodlust!

Rising from the clouds, Guardian Vex Talon, who had been looking at the Vagrant Beast Masters, felt the overpowering bloodlust coming from an entirely different direction. His eyes became stern and looked down to locate exactly who was looking toward him with such malice!

Because the moment that he found them, he would add them among the list of people that had to die tonight.

His eyes swept across Club Skyspire, rapidly scanning the cybernetic humans, Glassbloods, and Beast Masters as they quickly moved toward a broken private suite that contained the Trial Guardians of ZENTHRA.

And he saw...

Nothing of the source of the bloodlust.

It was as if it had disappeared. He only saw the figures of Lyra Veyrin, Ariana, Becca, Serena, Alex, and the other Trial Guardians!

He let out a harumph at not finding the source of the bloodlust as he turned his attention back toward the Vagrant Beast Masters.

While he did so, Damian’s body felt as if his heart was about to leap out of his chest, as Kitsuul had inherently veiled him when she sensed a tremendous amount of danger—and the danger this time would have come from none other than the Drunken Butcher. If he had seen how Damian was looking at him with the bloodlust to just rip everything apart...

Kitsuul had saved him just now, as without her, he may have just exposed himself—and died!

He breathed heavily.

He clenched his fists with guilt as he felt stupid.

The trauma came and went as he tried to control his emotions.

If ever he wanted that retribution for Ilyana...

If ever the Drunken Butcher would lie in a pool of his own blood... Damian had to control himself and make sure that he didn’t reveal his outbursts of bloodlust in a stupid manner. That would get him killed without being able to accomplish everything.

He had to do better.

He had to mask his emotions even in the face of meeting this terrifying being again, and this was a very hard thing to do, but he had to do it regardless.

He quickly talked to his furry, little silver fox as the invisible veiling he was just in disappeared, as if he were coming out from under the table.

The chaos of the surroundings was only getting more intense as Lyra Veyrin had a stern expression, as if she was looking around for him, and when she saw him, she voiced out.

"Let’s help the others!"

She still remembered how Damian had stopped a spear right in front of her face—just inches away. If it had gone any further, she couldn’t say for sure if the natural barrier of her blue slime would have protected her.

He had saved her!

Damian controlled his emotions and looked around at the wailing and injured people as he nodded and shot out with the others, but his eyes were always on the distant battle on the other side of the nightclub—where the monstrous form of the Rhino-Bat Interstellar Beast was the most prominent thing in the skies.

The figure of the Drunken Butcher atop it actually laughed at the scattering Vagrant Beast Masters as his voice boomed out:

"You all’s stupidity knows no bounds. After kidnapping one of you, did you really think we didn’t expect you all to try and come rescue her? Now, all of you get to die instead of one!"

...!

His words were shocking. In the skies, he tapped his feet on top of his massive beast that, at this moment, opened its jaws and...

ROAAR!

Released waves of black flames.

Flames.

Horrid, scorching, and black!

They instantly formed a cross in the night sky as they shot out toward all the Vagrant Beast Masters here.

The flames were fast and scorching as they quickly neared the Vagrant Beast Masters and their Beasts, who erupted with power to evade, while the Porcupine Interstellar Beast on the club floor constricted its body before it released itself like a coiled spring and shot out dozens of black spears toward Vex Talon!

...!

The sky glimmered with the spears of an Interstellar Beast, and they looked like they would skewer the Drunken Butcher entirely.

But...

Vex Talon gazed at the incoming black spears coldly. He didn’t dodge, simply watching them come, and when they were inches away from his body...

BOOM!

The spears smashed into him but were shockingly rebounded back, as if they had hit a rubbery, hardened surface!

They actually could not do anything to him.

As Damian and the others moved to clear civilians and the injured away from the battle, Ariana had her Winged Peacock Lion release a wave of flames toward the Porcupine Interstellar Beast, while Serena’s Void Serpent spat out black flames as well!

They were trying to help in any way possible while Damian kept his eyes on Vex Talon, becoming increasingly somber at the power this being displayed. After he blocked off the spears, he did not sit still- his body shot out like a streak of black lightning. He instantly appeared above the Porcupine... his legs shooting down like spears.

SQUELCH!

The Porcupine Interstellar Beast was pierced through top to bottom, as if its hardened body were a fruit, crimson blood gushing out. A Vagrant Beast Master in the distance, atop a crimson eagle with another Beast Master, howled out in pain and fury!
