The Revenge of the Reborn Supreme Sovereign

Chapter 454 - 444: Cleaving the Path of Life and Death!

Blood drenched the path the Japanese government revered as sacred. Restless, aggrieved spirits surged everywhere. For those who had died so suddenly and tragically, they did not even know the reason for their deaths. They had perished innocently, caught in a bewildered stampede. A glance around revealed bodies everywhere, all in gruesome states.

WHOOSH! WHOOSH! WHOOSH!

The killing spree only came to a halt before a sign that read: "Dismount and Proceed on Foot."

Ahead, a dozen figures stood in a line. Dressed in matching samurai attire and holding katanas with both hands, they charged toward Qin Fan and Hua Xiaotian. A terrifying, murderous aura billowed from them, filling the sky.

"Alright, Old Hua, it’s your show. Breaking through the Gang Jin threshold requires slaughter—a certain *quality* of slaughter. As a Great Grandmaster of Martial Arts, dealing with this rabble shouldn’t be difficult, right?" Qin Fan said with a smirk, wiping the blood from his Soft Whip.

"Fine! I’ll kill them!"

At this point, Hua Xiaotian had no other choice. He had completely steeled his heart to go mad alongside Qin Fan. With his decisive declaration, the aura of a Grandmaster erupted from his body, skyrocketing uncontrollably. He assumed the ultimate posture of a Great Grandmaster, facing the samurai who were rushing toward him with incredible speed.

He furrowed his brow and swung his arms. The accumulating Qi Force immediately swirled the fallen leaves from the ground.

"Rise!"

At his booming command, countless leaves spiraled together into a massive sphere.

"Go!"

With another shout, Hua Xiaotian stomped violently on the ground. Gathering a tremendous amount of Qi Force in his hands, he thrust them forward with vicious power.

BANG!

A deafening explosion erupted. The sphere of leaves, imbued with the power of a Grandmaster’s Divine Skills, shot forward before scattering into a volley of countless throwing stars that flew toward the samurai.

At the same time, Hua Xiaotian took no chances. As the leaves flew out to assault the samurai, his own figure shot forward from his original spot.

To serve as Guardians of the Jingguo Society, they were naturally no ordinary opponents. Facing the incoming attack born of Divine Skills, the line of samurai did not let down their guard. As if mechanically synchronized, they each simultaneously threw a handful of powder. As the powder suddenly filled the air, Hua Xiaotian, who was leaping forward, froze for an instant.

The next moment, the entire group of samurai had simply vanished into thin air.

"Ninja!" Hua Xiaotian’s brow furrowed instinctively as he exclaimed.

"Calm your heart, gather your Qi, and close your eyes," Qin Fan said leisurely from behind him, his Eyes of Golden Flame seeing through the ninjas’ concealment. "Where the heart is, flaws are revealed. Ninjas are only ninjas because their opponents’ minds are clouded. There’s nothing truly extraordinary about them—it’s just a little trick."

Hearing Qin Fan’s words, Hua Xiaotian immediately closed his eyes. He cast aside all distractions, allowing his inner world to sink into a state of lucid emptiness in the blink of an eye. Only his slightly twitching ears and faintly quivering nostrils betrayed his heightened state of awareness.

"Nine o’clock! Carve a path between life and death with a single blow!" Qin Fan shouted as Hua Xiaotian slowly turned, following the faint stirrings in the air he could now sense.

The next second, having already pinpointed the ninja’s location, Hua Xiaotian swung his arm vigorously. His arm went taut, unleashing the immense might of a Grandmaster without any hesitation. He aimed for the nine o’clock position and delivered a sharp hand-chop!

"Bastard!"

As Hua Xiaotian’s hand-chop sliced through the air, an enraged cry rang out. Immediately after, the Hidden Space Formation that had surrounded Hua Xiaotian flickered into view. But the next moment, another cloud of powder was thrown, and the ninjas who had just appeared vanished once more. It seemed they had no intention of facing Hua Xiaotian head-on, instead preferring to seek a chance for a one-hit kill from the shadows.

Having seen through the ninjas’ positions, Qin Fan remained silent this time. He could remind Hua Xiaotian once, but he couldn’t do it for a lifetime. As the man revered by countless in the Martial Arts World as number one, Hua Xiaotian ultimately had to rely on himself to walk his Martial Arts Path. Of course, even if he wouldn’t offer any more hints, Qin Fan wouldn’t just stand by and watch him die.

Facing these Demigod Ninjas, who were nearly as powerful as Yamamoto Ichiro’s guardians, was a test for Hua Xiaotian. Whether he could smoothly cross the threshold into the Gang Jin realm depended on this. These Demigod Ninjas were, in a way, the perfect entry-level trial.

With the Demigod Ninjas gone again, Hua Xiaotian kept his eyes closed, concentrating and moving his body according to his senses.

Suddenly, he froze.

His hand lashed out like a blade, slashing frantically toward his six o’clock! At the same instant, his eyes snapped open. Just as his hand-chop attack concluded, he launched himself into the air. Clenching a fist imbued with a lifetime of power, he smashed it thunderously into the empty air before him.

BANG!

His target had dodged the hand-chop, but not the punch. A heavy impact sounded out of nowhere as a Demigod Ninja was sent flying back. His attack once again exposed the ninjas’ Hidden Space Formation.

"Bastards!"

Foiled again, the ninjas abandoned their formation. With a collective roar of fury, they hovered in mid-air and unleashed a net of slashes from their katanas, aiming to envelop Hua Xiaotian.

"Heh," Qin Fan uttered softly upon seeing this.

He truly wanted to see just how much fortitude Hua Xiaotian possessed. With his own strength, avoiding this web of katanas would be easy. But dodging would also give these Demigod Ninjas a chance to regroup, foolishly wasting a perfect opportunity for a killing blow.

As Qin Fan mused with amusement, Hua Xiaotian scoffed coldly. He had seen through the situation just as clearly as Qin Fan had.

Faced with such an opportunity, was he willing to miss it? If this were back in Huaxia, perhaps he would have. But this was Japan, inside the Jingguo Society. The chances of leaving here alive were already minuscule. Spurred on by this thought, he was now fearless.

As his scoff faded, a humming sound erupted.

HUMMM!

A violent gust of wind exploded from his body, causing his clothes to billow and the hair on his skin to stand on end.

SLASH! SLASH! SLASH!

Standing his ground, he allowed the katanas to hack down upon him. He lacked Qin Fan’s heaven-defying Prison Suppressing Body. Even as a Great Grandmaster just a step away from the Gang Realm, Hua Xiaotian was still mortal. His body was flesh and blood, albeit far tougher than most.

Amidst the sickening sound of blades slicing into flesh, over a dozen katanas struck Hua Xiaotian’s body. Although his powerful physique limited the depth of the cuts, a dozen gashes still burst open on his body as blood splattered instantly.

His expression remained unchanged as he let out a stifled grunt, a crazed, manic grin spreading across his face.

"Little devils, die!"

The typically aloof Hua Xiaotian now roared like an enraged patriot, the hatred for his enemies surging from the depths of his heart. With an icy roar, he threw both fists forward. Like twin dragons emerging from the sea, his fists left afterimages in their wake as they flew ferociously toward the faces of two Demigod Ninjas.
