Chapter 453 - 443: Charge In!
The journey from the Yamamoto Group to the Jingguo Society was not far. After leaving the Yamamoto Group headquarters, Qin Fan and Hua Xiaotian simply followed the signs on foot.
"Master Hua, do you think the higher-ups in Japan will be able to sleep tonight?" Qin Fan asked casually, his hands clasped behind his back as they strolled along the crowded sidewalk.
Amidst the hurried passersby, no one would have guessed that these two men were the culprits who had just annihilated the entire Yamamoto Group, leaving no one alive. Even less could they imagine that from this moment on, the once-glorious Yamamoto Group was now nothing more than a pile of corpses.
"If we were dead, they could definitely sleep soundly! Master Qin, I don’t care about those bastards in the Japanese government right now. What I want to know is if we can get out of Japan alive," Hua Xiaotian said worriedly, glancing sidelong at the enigmatic Qin Fan.
"You’re asking if we can? Do you believe it yourself?" Qin Fan replied with a slow, meaningful smile.
"I don’t! Openly challenging all of Japan... I see no hope of survival! I just hope we can drag Orochi down with us!" Hua Xiaotian said with a bitter smile.
"Then your question was pointless! Life and death are fated, wealth and honor are decreed by heaven. Let’s just see what heaven has in store," Qin Fan said, shaking his head noncommittally.
Life and death are fated? See what heaven has in store? Is there any need to look?
"You believe in fate and the will of heaven? Haven’t you always been one to defy heaven?" Hua Xiaotian retorted dismissively, letting out a breath.
"Seeing what heaven has in store applies to you! As for me? Heh... these little devils don’t have what it takes to keep me here!" Qin Fan declared with arrogant disdain.
This was no empty boast. At his current Golden Core Stage, it would be a lie to say he was completely invincible. But for the world to try and erase him, relying on the capabilities of Japan’s little devils? That was nowhere near enough!
Hearing Qin Fan’s disdainful chuckle, Hua Xiaotian was struck completely speechless.
Even now, he still couldn’t fathom the source of Qin Fan’s confidence. To challenge all of Japan single-handedly was more absurd than a madman’s fantasy! Not even his own master, Demi Immortal Qi Lian, and those four old men from the southeast and northwest would dare to venture into Japan alone to avenge their nation. Where did Qin Fan, all by himself, get this audacity? So what if he really was the ’Chosen One’ his master spoke of? Perhaps he would have such power in the future, but right now, he was just a young man not yet twenty years old! No matter how heaven-defying he was, challenging an entire nation and its hidden mystical forces alone was utterly insane! It was simply courting death!
At this point, Hua Xiaotian remained deeply pessimistic about what they were about to face.
"Master Qin, we’ve arrived at the Jingguo Society!" Having resigned himself to his fate, Hua Xiaotian stopped overthinking and pointed to the large characters of the Jingguo Society up ahead.
"Mm," Qin Fan grunted, tilting his head back slightly to look at the sign. "How do we get in?" Hua Xiaotian asked again.
"We kill our way in," Qin Fan stated nonchalantly, as if discussing something trivial.
But those words terrified Hua Xiaotian.
Is he really going to provoke the beast in its own lair? This is completely different from the Yamamoto Group! To start a massacre here in the open would undoubtedly draw all of Japan’s military and police!
"Master Qin, k-kill our way in? Is that appropriate? Besides, there are so many tourists from other countries here! This could instantly trigger a political incident involving countless nations!" Hua Xiaotian exclaimed, his eyes wide with shock.
He prayed this was one of Qin Fan’s jokes. He prayed Qin Fan wasn’t that insane. As the head of the Huaxia Guardian Institute, he had dealt with numerous international political incidents over the years. He knew that if Qin Fan truly went through with this madness, it would be like holding Huaxia itself over a fire.
"There probably aren’t any Huaxia people in the Jingguo Society. Even if there are, they’re nothing but traitorous scum who’ve forgotten their ancestors. So, what’s wrong with killing our way in?" Qin Fan explained slowly in a soft voice. "As for the consequences, you don’t need to worry. If we can get out of here alive, it will serve as a terrifying deterrent to other nations. If we don’t make it out, Huaxia will have more than enough justification to make its case."
Qin Fan had never bothered to consider the consequences of killing. He didn’t need to. But seeing Hua Xiaotian’s recurring anxiety and fear, he felt he had to patiently explain himself.
After a pause, he added, "Alright, enough talk. Let’s get to work."
With that, he lunged forward, grabbing a man dressed in a samurai costume.
"Bastard! Who are you? What are you doing?" the little devil roared, having been violently snatched.
"Killing you."
With those two cold words, Qin Fan applied a bit of force, neatly and cruelly extinguishing the man’s life.
THUD. He tossed the body to the ground. "Don’t just stand there stunned. Kill!" Qin Fan ordered, turning his expressionless face toward the utterly frozen Hua Xiaotian.
Hua Xiaotian had never expected Qin Fan’s attack to be so sudden and ferocious.
Was the curtain of slaughter rising already?
"Bastards! We have enemies! Enemies!"
In that instant, frantic screams erupted everywhere. Everyone, whether they were Japanese or tourists from other countries, began to shriek and flee in panic.
"Kill!" Qin Fan barked again as a reminder.
He moved like a cheetah sprinting across the savanna. He whipped out his Hemp Vine Whip, lashing it about in a seemingly chaotic frenzy. Under his seemingly random strikes, swath after swath of bodies collapsed to the ground.
In Qin Fan’s eyes, there was no room for mercy or innocence. At this moment, he was a demonic butcher that had crawled out from the Shura Purgatory.
SWOOSH!
Spurred by Qin Fan’s relentless slaughter, Hua Xiaotian shuddered and snapped back to his senses. With no alternative, he was forced to join the ranks of the butchers.
At the hands of these two Divine Level experts, whose might shook the entire Martial Arts World of Huaxia, the people before the entrance of the Jingguo Society were like cattle and produce, mercilessly cut down and slaughtered.
In less than half a minute, a river of blood stretched for hundreds of meters. Every single person who died by Qin Fan’s hand was left in a gruesome, dismembered state, with no exceptions. His blood-soaked whip had, at this moment, become the scythe of the Death God. Wherever it passed, it reaped countless lives.
They were insane! These two were completely insane!
The desperate howls and wails echoing throughout the Jingguo Society served as a long, drawn-out alarm. Within the shrine, the piercing shriek of an air-raid siren began to blare incessantly. Countless samurai, their faces grim with killing intent, surged out from within. Outside, the wail of innumerable police sirens closed in.
On the surface, Qin Fan and Hua Xiaotian were like turtles trapped in a jar. But who was the turtle and who was the hunter... that remained to be seen.
The slaughter, amidst this cacophony of chilling sounds, was pushed to a fever pitch.
