Evolving My Mythic Legion With A Legendary Skill

Chapter 154: The Assassins

Time passed gradually as he continued practicing, stabilizing the flow of energy and adapting his body to the changes, ensuring that the two methods continued to work in harmony rather than creating any form of imbalance.

Only after a considerable amount of time did he finally stop, the whirlpools slowing down and the extreme temperature difference gradually fading as his body returned to its normal state.

"...Not bad," he muttered softly.

Standing up, he stretched his body slightly before walking back towards the main area of the domain.

As he approached, a familiar aroma reached his senses.

Food.

Near the central open area, several figures had already gathered.

Rob, Bob and Mob were sitting together, talking among themselves as usual, their loud yet cheerful voices carrying a sense of liveliness that made the entire place feel more like home rather than a battlefield.

Fay and Ray were busy arranging the food, carefully placing the dishes one by one, the aroma spreading across the area as the freshly prepared meals were laid out neatly.

Unlike before, there was no need for the campfire.

The weather was warm and pleasant, the sunlight gentle rather than harsh, making the entire environment comfortable.

Leon was also present, sitting calmly with his usual composed demeanor, his posture straight as his gaze remained steady.

While Magnar lay curled up nearby, sleeping peacefully as if completely unaware of everything happening around him.

Neil walked over and sat down.

Ileana naturally took her place beside him without a word.

"That looks delicious," Neil said as his gaze moved over the food.

"Hehe, thank you, lord." Fay replied with a shy smile, clearly happy with the compliment.

Without wasting any time, they all began to eat.

The atmosphere was calm and peaceful.

For a moment, it almost felt like everything had slowed down.

But Neil knew very well, this kind of peace never lasted for long.

...

In a faraway realm, a girl walked out, her body covered with blood of different colours.

She noticed hundreds of new notifications popping in front of her.

Earlier she was fighting against dangerous beasts and had no time, so her AI didn’t disturb her.

Pushing her golden blonde hair back, she sat down on a stone nearby and took in a deep breath.

Right now she was all alone in the midst of a forest, ever since becoming the disciple of the Dragon Empress.

She had been into various dangerous realms.

It was of course none other than Jane, as she began to scroll through the notifications, she noticed many were from her father and grandfather.

A lot of messages were unimportant though.

She opened one of the messages from her father where a single line was written.

"I and your grandfather have come to the decision that you may pursue your relation with Neil Yates." She read out loud and was quite shocked.

She had already started to hate her family but what were they playing at now?

Neil had disappeared after escaping from the Lizard race and since then there hadn’t been any news of him.

Jane had been trying to find him, but it was all fruitless.

She felt a tightness in her chest just thinking about him, when they separated, she had said those hurtful things to him.

And before she had the chance to explain, it all became a mess.

She was sure he must hate her, especially since she broke up at his lowest moment.

"Wait, d- did Neil... reappear?" her heartbeat increased suddenly, fists clenched tightly.

She quickly scrolled past a few messages and saw a video attached to one of the messages.

Releasing a long, shuddering breath, she opened the video and her heart skipped a beat.

Neil stood there, facing again a lord of 4th Origin and he almost ended up killing him.

Jane’s eyes widened, he is back!! And his strength has grown so much.

She had been constantly training, getting all sorts of resources from her teacher.

But she was still far from his strength, that was not important.

He is really back!!

Jane rose to her feet quickly, she had to go and explain everything to him properly.

And this time, she wouldn’t allow anyone to get between them.

"Just wait, my darling, I am coming..." she muttered, just hoping he doesn’t hate her too much.

After eating food and strolling around the peaceful surroundings, Neil returned to his room with Ileana.

But just as he lay down, he received a message from his teacher, telling him good news.

She would be coming to the event three days later to meet him.

And so she asked Neil to come to that event, meeting outside would be troublesome.

There was no way those humans would allow her to roam around freely with her level of strength.

So, the safest place to meet him was at the event venue.

Though later they could sneak out or something.

Therefore Neil decided to go there, with Cynthia there he wouldn’t have to worry about most threats.

’Nemo, tomorrow we will be hunting a few domains. You have found the locations, right?’

He asked in his mind as Ileana walked out of the bathroom in sexy nightwear.

"Yes master, those places are pretty far and you might even need to use the teleportation of the settlement." Nemo replied.

But the conversation was put to an end as the beautiful Ileana embraced Neil, stealing his attention and lips.

Of course, there was no way Neil would be more interested in anything else, as he leaned into the kiss, hugging her soft voluptuous body tight.

The night was full of passion as the two stayed up until late.

...

The next morning, Neil woke up early.

After eating dinner and saying goodbye to Ileana, he left the domain.

Magnar and the others stayed behind to protect the domain in his absence.

Neil was heading to settlement number 65, he had received an offer from the warden of that settlement as well.

And from the info from Nemo, that warden was his best choice for now.

But he was just midway when suddenly ten or so shadows suddenly appeared all around him, the speed was so fast that Neil hadn’t even noticed.

He paused, frowning and gazed back at them cautiously.

’Their strength is at the 5th Origin!’ he exclaimed, the difference was too vast.

Of course not all ten were at that stage but only two, yet just one would be enough to kill Neil.

Even with the usage of his phantom skills he wouldn’t be able to defeat them, so a grim look appeared on his face.

But that soon disappeared as one of the masked men spoke: "You are Neil Yates, right? We have been tasked to kill Xander by our queen."

"Oh, you have been sent by teacher? Have you already killed him? Do you need something?" Neil asked, as he relaxed a bit.

There was no need for these guys to lie after all.

"Xander is not dead yet but he has been subdued and will die soon. The queen had tasked us with bringing you to kill him with your hands." The same man spoke.

"I see, can you give me a moment?" Neil asked and messaged Cynthia right away without waiting.

The assassins just stood there motionlessly, they were ordered to treat this guy as if he is their king himself.

His strength is pretty good for his age but still, why a human?

Was he so special?

They all wondered, while Neil confirmed things with Cynthia and only then was he completely calm.

’Hoo, I thought I would already be fighting such powerful lords, hmm killing him will give me something good.’ Neil pondered and nodded.

He had killed Shen too and received the shards, one 4th Origin Silver class gene point and a very powerful bomb.

Neil was in a hurry to leave yesterday so he had no time to check.

But now, he wasn’t going to miss such an opportunity.

"Alright, let’s go." Neil nodded as the assassins started to run, they all had the same technique they were using to run.

Leaving behind a black trail that made them easily merge with shadows.

[Agility Lock activated!]

Neil stole the agility from one 5th Origin assassin and started to run at a speed that shocked the assassins.

With his strength he was able to keep up with them, this felt like a challenge so they increased their speed further.

But Neil could still keep up and his stamina regeneration was faster than theirs.

The 4th Origin assassins started to feel tired after running at full speed for a while but Neil still looked perfectly fine.

So they had no choice but to give up this silent competition and continued normally.

Soon they arrived in front of Xander’s house.

"Go inside, Xander is right there." The assassin said, taking a few deep breaths.

Neil nodded and walked into the room, and found a surprising sight.

Xander lay on the bed, unable to move his body, probably poisoned by some paralysis poison.

His eyes were full of rage as he continued to struggle, yet it was of no use.

"Hello Xander, I am Neil." Neil spoke, his eyes turning pitch black for a moment as he scanned him.

"Ughhhh" Xander looked incredibly angry, but didn’t expect what was coming next.

"I have escaped from the Carceral Citadel too and I was actually the one who killed Arlo, your son. I cut him into tiny pieces and fed them to beasts."

Xander’s eyes widened at first then turned blood red, he wanted to tear Neil apart right there and then.

"Don’t worry though, I will send you to meet him. Tell him, killing him was fun." Neil added, smiling.
