Global Awakening: Infinite Gift Pack System

Chapter 203: The Vessel and the Status Check

Mei’s eyes lit up as she saw what had just happened... "You hurt it!"

Kai gritted his teeth as he landed on the ground.

"Not enough. Atom, focus fire on the weak spot!"

Atom locked onto the damaged section and unleashed a barrage of plasma bolts.

Fwoosh! Fwoosh! Fwoosh!

The disk vessel shuddered as it was hit by the attacks... Still, the vessel remained floating...

Aurora fired her rifle, adding to the assault. Amer and the others followed, with their bullets crashing into the weakened forcefield or barrier that it was using...

Finally, with a loud crack, the disk’s shield collapsed!

Kai shouted, "Now! Finish it!"

Atom fired one last plasma burst and this time, it passed through the vessel’s frame!

Boom!

The disk exploded in the air with flames engulfing its circular body.

Debris rained down, crushing several hounds beneath it.

Apparently, they seemed to have destroyed the remaining Bombers inside as well!

The survivors cheered, relief flooding through them.

But Kai didn’t smile.

He stared at the burning wreckage... This wasn’t the end of the event yet. They would be facing more of them soon!

After all, the Surveillance Sweep Event would last for 7 days, and this was only the first day of the event.

Soon, the others also realized that.

What if there were three or five more of them? It could be disastrous.

Aurora swallowed hard. "If that was terrifying for sure."

Mei looked at the survivors.

"If more of those carriers come... Freedom Shelter won’t survive."

Kai agreed. He was aware of it.

"Then we’ll grow stronger. Whatever Anima sends, we’ll fight it..."

Then, he finally looked at the notifications he had ignored for a while.

[ You have discovered Special Carrier: "Dominion" ]

[ Grade: Advanced War Machine ]

[ Status: Destroyed ]

[ Description: A circular, anti‑gravity carrier designed for aerial deployment. Equipped with advanced floatation technology and internal hatches that release modified Swarmer Bombers. ]

"It’s called Dominion, huh..." Kai muttered.

After this confirmation, he saw the notifications he really wanted to see.

[ Enemy Unit Destroyed: Dominion (C) ]

[ Experience Points distributed among all participants. ]

[ +1500 Experience Points ]

[ Congratulations! You are the first Survivor to eliminate a Dominion Unit. ]

[ Hint: Only the first elimination of each C-Grade and higher unit can provide special rewards! ]

[ You have received: Reputation Points +10 ]

[ You can select one reward: Random Enhanced Gift Pack x3, C‑Grade Energy Core x15, Survivor Medal x5 ]

Kai frowned...

The five Survivor Medals were very important. However, the 15 C-Grade Energy Cores could also help them a lot. After all, aside from being used to be converted into Plasma Charge, they’re also a precious item that low-level Survivors could use to absorb and get stronger.

In the end, Kai selected the cores!

Kai clenched his fist as the notification faded. The fifteen C‑Grade Energy Cores were already stored safely in his inventory. They would be invaluable for both plasma charges and for helping lower‑level Survivors grow stronger.

But before he could speak, Kai noticed Atom moving.

The android walked steadily toward the burning wreckage of the Dominion.

Its glowing eyes were fixed on the shattered remains of the cockpit.

Kai was curious as he recalled something similar.

Well, he had seen this before, when Atom approached the Impulse wreckage. Back then, he had stopped it since he knew what it would do.

This time, however, he chose not to interfere.

’Let’s see how you’ll do it,’ Kai thought.

Atom reached the Dominion’s remains and extended its hand. From the twisted metal, it pulled out a black sphere... It was a strange core that seemed just like any other metal ball.

Aurora gasped. "What is that?"

This was her first time seeing this. She couldn’t understand why Atom would want that.

Mei’s eyes widened. "It looks... normal."

Well, she thought that Atom would take something awesome.

She then looked at Kai to ask questions, but noticed that he seemed to be looking forward to something.

She turned her gaze back to the A-Grade Sentinel and saw something shocking...

Without hesitation, Atom pressed the sphere against its chest.

The black ball seemed to dissolve, merging into the android’s frame.

Kai smiled...

"So it’s absorbing that thing..."

The survivors watched in silence as Atom’s glowing eyes seemed to have become brighter.

Amer muttered, "It’s... charging itself?"

Kai nodded slowly. He could feel it... Atom was fully powered again.

Whatever that black sphere was, it had restored the android completely.

Aurora whispered, "So that’s why it went to the wreckage. It knew there was something inside."

Kai nodded. "I’m guessing it’s something only A-Grade like Atom could use."

The survivors gently nodded.

Mei asked, "Is that safe? What if it changes Atom?"

Kai didn’t answer immediately. He simply watched the android with its fresh energy.

Finally, Kai spoke.

"Safe or not... Atom is stronger. And right now, we need that strength."

The survivors fell silent and nodded.

If that black ball helps Atom, then that would be great news.

Kai turned his gaze back to the battlefield. The Dominion was gone, but the event was far from over. This was only the first day.

More Hunters, more Hounds, and perhaps more "Special Units" would come.

But now, Atom was fully charged again.

Kai clenched his fists...

"Whatever comes next... we’ll be ready."

Soon, everyone retreated to the main building.

Aside from the basement, no lights were used on the ground floor or the first floor. Darkness was their shield now.

The survivors were exhausted, so only two workers remained on the ground floor, tasked with monitoring the drones and swarmers in case more appeared.

After cleaning themselves, Amer, their only cook in the shelter, moved quietly among them.

He served them hot meals. They were mostly MREs, but with added vegetables they had stored earlier. The warmth of the food brought a small comfort, and it also eased the tension after a long battle.

After the meal, Amer approached Kai, who was seated near the wall...

"Can I ask for another Status check?" Amer asked carefully.

Kai looked up as he didn’t expect the question.

"You want to see how much we’ve grown today? That’s a good idea..."
