Chapter 201: Accident and the Special One
The confirmation of the Hunter’s destruction immediately brought joy to everyone. All the Survivors who had joined the fight gained experience points after all.
"We did it!" Mei shouted in joy.
"That thing is tough! Victor would love to dismantle this." Aurora added as she recalled the tireless mechanic in Haven-45.
"Wait... Do you think they’d be able to destroy one of these in Haven-45?" Amer asked worriedly as he reloaded his gun.
"Don’t underestimate Claire... The woman is terrifying. There’s also that large Artillery. Kai also gave them enough weapons. Besides, Sera and Althea were there. They have Gene Weapons. You can’t underestimate them." Aurora said as she recalled how Claire used her Spirit Possession before.
In any case, Mei seemed to have leveled up just now and was already checking out the increase in her stats.
For Kai, the highest‑level Survivor at Level 30, the points didn’t matter much anymore.
He was already at the limit.
But for the others, those points were extremely valuable. Every bit of experience meant growth, strength, and a better chance to survive the next battle.
In any case, since he was able to get the last hit, he was the one given to choose among the possible achievement rewards.
[ You can select one reward: Instant Experience Potion x5, C-Grade Energy Cores x5, Random Gift Pack x5, Survivor Medal x2 ]
Well, Instant Experience Potions weren’t useful to him with his current level. He also has extra Alpha Gene Enhancement Serums that could give him Experience Points if needed.
C-Grade Energy Cores were something he could loot now, even if they were still quite rare.
As for the Gift Pack, he didn’t even glance at it.
Finally, the Survivor Medal... but there were only 2 of them.
It was something he could already obtain from others in exchange for his Gift Packs. Now that he had Superior Gift Packs, he knew that he’d be earning them faster with the help of other Survivors within the two shelters.
There was no need to get them...
In the end, Kai decided to just take more C-Grade Energy Cores with him.
Soon, they also kept the remains of the Hunter Units and stored them in the warehouse for safe dismantling for later.

After everything was settled, they all returned to the building...
Finally, Kai uncorked a spirit‑boosting potion flask and drank it down in one gulp.
Ding!
[ Spirit Points +100 ]
Warm energy rushed through his body, filling him instantly.
He knew the effect would weaken if he drank too many within the same hour, but he didn’t care. He consumed flask after flask until his Spirit Points reached the full 350.
"Good," Kai muttered, flexing his hand as the warmth of Spirit energy pulsed through him.
"I’ll need every bit of this."
The day dragged on, and the event continued.
Drones buzzed overhead, Swarmers tried to enter their building, and their bases were marked... Then, the real threat arrived.
"What?" Kai was shocked to see it...
This time, two Hunters stepped into view.
The survivors froze.
"Two of them?" Amer whispered. "We barely handled one!"
As he said this, the Hunters advanced!
Kai raised his rifle and gave a warning...
"No time to hesitate. Atom, cover us!"
Atom’s plasma rifle hummed as it locked onto the nearest Hunter.
Fwoosh!
Plasma bolts streaked through the air, slamming into the armor. The Hunters stepped back but kept moving!
This time, under Kai’s command, Mei pulled out a strange injector.
[ Gene Stimulant Injector ( Unique Equipment ): Temporarily enhances cellular recovery, stamina, and reflex response... Effects last for at least 10 minutes. Overuse may cause strain. ]
She jabbed it into her arm. "Let’s go!"
Aurora, Amer, and many others followed, injecting themselves carefully.
Soon, their eyes widened as the stimulant surged through their veins.
"Whoa... I feel faster!" Amer gasped, gripping his rifle tighter.
"Don’t overuse it," Kai warned. "Ten minutes only. Make it count."
The battle continued...
Plasma fire from Atom hit the Hunters, while the survivors moved around with enhanced speed, avoiding any attacks from the mechanical tentacles!
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Bullets struck the tentacles, slowing their movements.
Kai then used Specter Step, appearing behind one Hunter. His Spirit Pulse exploded, tearing its cloak apart.
Boom!
Now, he knew where to hit!
He didn’t just release it at any part of the body. It was released to the most vulnerable part of the enemy that he had found in the previous battle!
Just like that, the survivors cheered as the first Hunter collapsed under Atom’s plasma barrage and Kai’s attacks...
Still, the second Hunter caused so much trouble...
It fought harder with its blades slashing wildly, but teamwork won the day.
"Two down!" Mei shouted, panting.
But the relief didn’t last.
Another pair of Hunters arrived.
Aurora cursed. "Again?!"
Kai steadied his rifle. "Stay sharp. Same plan. Atom, keep firing!"
The fight repeated... It was brutal and exhausting.
Plasma bolts burned, Spirit Pulses were used, and stimulants, including the potion, kept the survivors moving.
The Hunters fell, but not easily... Then, another pattern of Drones and Swarmers came...
Needless to say, two more Hunters came...
By now, the survivors were drenched in sweat, their arms aching from constant fire.
Amer groaned. "How many more?"
Kai’s eyes narrowed. "As many as it takes. We won’t fall here."
Atom fired again with its plasma rifle!
Fwoosh! Fwoosh!
Then, the Hunters weren’t able to advance that far as Kai struck them with another Spirit Pulse, blasting one apart. The other was then finished by Mei’s close-range shots to its tentacles.
Finally, silence.
The survivors collapsed against the walls, breathing hard.
Mei wiped her forehead. "That’s... four batches... in one day. No... The day hasn’t ended yet."
Aurora nodded grimly. "And it’s only the first day of the event."
Kai looked at them all. "Rest for now. Night is coming."
As the sun dipped below the ruins, darkness spread across the shelter...
The weaker drones and swarmers stopped coming, but new enemies emerged!
From the shadows, twenty mechanical hounds appeared.
"Shit... Wait... Twenty hounds?!" Mei was shocked as she heard the news...
However, as she looked at Kai, she realized that he was frozen...
"No, don’t tell me..." Mei’s eyes widened as she recalled the enemy composition in this event according to the system notification.
[ Estimated Enemy Composition: Swarmer, Hounds, Hunters, and a special one. ]
