Chapter 1530 - 1532: Not Everyone Can Use the Canopied Carriage_1
"Have all the game in the forest been hunted down?"
"Is this necessary?"
Prince Le dismounted and walked over, "How can we not take these back?"
"This servant has seen Prince Le!"
"This servant’s wife has seen Prince Le!"
As the two turned their heads, they saw Prince Le coming over slowly, with a smile tugging at his lips.
"The father of Lord Prince An needn’t be so formal."
Being called the father of Lord Prince An did sound somewhat awkward, Ye Zi’an couldn’t help but complain in his heart, the less he wanted to encounter the more likely he seemed to stumble upon it.
"Ah yes, I got carried away by accident," Ye Zi’an said lightly.
"I heard Madam Ye is skilled in martial arts; I didn’t expect your archery to be just as impressive."
"Prince Le, how did you know these were all hunted by your servant’s wife?" Yang Chuxia asked, puzzled, as there had clearly been no one else around them just now.
"Why overthink it? It is common knowledge that Lord Ye comes from a scholarly background and likely does not know martial arts, otherwise wouldn’t our Great Zhou have a paragon of both literature and martial prowess? Upon simple contemplation, only Madam Ye could be considered a female hero capable of hunting down so many game at once," Prince Le said with a smile, which was not quite a smile.
Then Prince Le continued, "I came here by carriage, if Lord Ye doesn’t mind, he could borrow my carriage."
"How can this be appropriate? The prince’s carriage should not be laden with such things," Ye Zi’an hurriedly declined.
"No matter, the carriage I use is just ordinary, it cannot compare to my younger brother’s luxurious carriage." He paused, then added, "What’s the matter, Lord Ye, do you look down on my simple carriage? My younger brother’s luxurious carriage may be fine, but it’s not for everyone to utilize. My simple carriage will do just fine, don’t you think?"
"If that’s the case, then thank you very much, Prince Le."
"Not at all!" Prince Le waved his hand, "I have other matters to attend to and must leave first. Later on, pass the carriage to Lord Ye, and we’ll ride the horses back."
"Yes, Your Highness!" the attendant answered promptly and helped Prince Le back onto his horse.
As Prince Le and his retinue rode off into the distance, Yang Chuxia was still in a daze.
"My lady, what are you looking at?" As Yang Chuxia turned her head, she saw Ye Zi’an’s face filled with displeasure, his gentle eyes also tinged with a hint of gloom, "He’s not better looking than me, so why are you so enchanted?"
"Jealous?" Yang Chuxia covered her mouth with a light laugh, then hugged his neck and kissed his handsome face, "What are you talking about? I just thought his silhouette seemed familiar; I must have seen it somewhere before."
"Is that so?" Ye Zi’an turned to see her thoughtful expression and said, "They say the Second Prince is the least conspicuous among the princes. He likes to hunt and hardly goes anywhere else. You’ve only just arrived in Capital City, and only saw him at the palace banquet; how could you find him familiar?"
"No, that’s not it. Even though I’ve just seen him, I find his silhouette familiar; I must have seen it somewhere."
"Forget it, if you can’t figure it out, stop thinking about it for now. You stay here; I’ll fetch his carriage, and we’ll head back."
"Alright!"
Soon Ye Zi’an brought over the carriage, indeed as Prince Le said, a simple carriage.
"Not using the luxurious carriage but instead the simple one, truly low-key."
"Going out hunting during the holiday, he obviously didn’t want to attract attention. If this got back to the Emperor, he definitely wouldn’t be pleased. Let’s not talk about him anymore; pack up the stuff, and let’s go."
After a while, when everything was packed up with the game filling the carriage, Ye Zi’an drove the carriage back, with Yang Chuxia sitting beside him.
"We’ve certainly done enough, riding in a carriage just for a load of game!"
