My Wife is a Hidden Big Shot

Chapter 505: Extra - Luna Jennings x Benjamin Morgan (9)

Luna Jennings was stunned, her heart leaping with joy. She smiled and called out, "Mr. C..."

A strange look flickered in Benjamin Morgan’s eyes, and the hand he was using to get water paused for a moment.

"Have you eaten?"

"No. Mr. C, let me treat you to a meal! Consider it my apology for the other day."

Benjamin Morgan picked up his cup, turned around, and pushed up his glasses. "Didn’t you already buy me something to apologize?"

"But it wasn’t what you liked."

"Is whether I like it or not that important?"

"It is. Forcing yourself to accept something you don’t like—isn’t that awful?"

Benjamin Morgan froze.

The girl before him wasn’t exceptionally stunning, nor did her aura compare to the daughters of the Great Families he had met. But she gave off a feeling of peace and comfort.

Especially now, as she looked at him with such righteous conviction, her eyes were bright and very beautiful.

Benjamin Morgan suddenly realized his heart was beating a little too fast. He averted his gaze, almost flustered, and tried to suppress the strange feeling inside him.

"Let’s go eat."

Once again, Benjamin Morgan gave her a ride on his bicycle, only this time it was on a different campus.

Benjamin Morgan was something of a celebrity at Arcadian University, and along the way, Luna Jennings felt countless gazes on her, especially from other girls.

"Hold on tight," Benjamin Morgan said suddenly.

Immediately after, they reached a section of road under construction, and the bicycle jolted violently.

Luna Jennings reflexively grabbed onto his clothes.

Once they were past the rough patch of road, Luna Jennings realized what she’d done and quickly let go, saying nervously, "Sorry, I grabbed your clothes again."

"It’s fine."

The place Benjamin Morgan brought her to was another one of Arcadian University’s trendy restaurants, a spicy crawfish joint.

During their late-night snack last time, he had seen Jenson Lawson order a lot of spicy crawfish for her.

She, like Aurora Sinclair, must love spicy food.

"Mr. C, you like spicy crawfish too?" Luna Jennings’s eyes lit up, and it seemed her mouth was already starting to water.

"It’s alright."

Benjamin Morgan parked the bike and led her into the restaurant.

Even though it was the holidays, the restaurant was still packed.

Luckily, they arrived late enough that they didn’t have to wait in line. There was a two-person table free just as they walked in.

"Order whatever you like."

After sitting down, Benjamin Morgan pushed the menu on the table toward her.

Luna Jennings thanked him shyly and looked at the menu with eager anticipation. The spicy crawfish was priced by size, with the large ones costing more than the small. She didn’t order the large.

"If you like them, order the large ones."

"No, no, it’s fine. The small ones are better." Luna Jennings shot him a look, as if there was some secret trick to it.

After the waiter left, she whispered, "The size thing is tricky. Some places use it as a gimmick; they don’t necessarily give you the bigger ones. I used to eat crawfish on Shrimp Street all the time, so I’ve learned a thing or two."

Amused, Benjamin Morgan poured her a cup of tea.

"Mr. C, have you ever been to Shrimp Street?" Seeing that he also seemed to like spicy crawfish, Luna Jennings thought this could be a shared interest—a starting point for becoming better acquainted.

Benjamin Morgan lifted his cup and took a sip of tea. "No."

Luna Jennings’s eyes brightened slightly. She fiddled with her cup, her heart pounding nervously, and said with feigned nonchalance:

"Then I’ll take you to Shrimp Street for crawfish next time. I’ve been to almost every shop there, so I won’t let you get ripped off."

"Alright."

"Then... then it’s a deal. I’ll take you to Shrimp Street for crawfish in a few days."

Benjamin Morgan smiled, took another sip of tea, and hummed in agreement.

The corners of Luna Jennings’s mouth lifted into an irrepressible smile as she celebrated inwardly.

When the crawfish arrived, she happily took on the role of their designated sheller, peeling the meat out quickly and perfectly.

"Mr. C, hurry and eat. There’s plenty more."

Luna Jennings suddenly discovered that feeding Benjamin Morgan was a delightful experience. Watching him eat, in particular, gave her a strange sense of satisfaction.

"Why aren’t you eating?" Benjamin Morgan looked up at her.

"I am." Luna Jennings put on a glove, peeled another crawfish, and popped it into her mouth.

Benjamin Morgan glanced at the pile of shelled crawfish meat in front of him and smiled faintly.

"You seem to be very good at taking care of people."

Luna Jennings looked up, replying in a slightly dazed manner, "I was the leader of the kids in the faculty housing district."

"Was Jenson Lawson from the faculty housing district too?"

Luna Jennings shook her head. "He’s the son of Cain from Cafeteria Number Three. Cain took really good care of me when I was little."

Benjamin Morgan’s eyes narrowed slightly. "So you take good care of her son?"

"Because I loved the food Cain cooked, and he and I have been best friends since we were kids." Luna’s heart tightened, and she quickly clarified their relationship.

Benjamin Morgan raised an eyebrow and studied her for a moment before picking up his teacup again and changing the subject. "I heard from Aurora that you’re a big fan of the two-faced professor, Wyatt Grant, from *Shadow*?"

Luna Jennings’s eyes immediately lit up. "That was Darius Lynch’s debut film! He absolutely brought Wyatt Grant to life. Us long-time fans were all won over by him in that movie. He’s played many roles since then, and every one of them is a classic, but because that was the movie where we first discovered him, Wyatt Grant will always be the ultimate ideal man in our hearts..."

Benjamin Morgan’s hand, holding the cup, paused.

The girl across from him had a hint of nostalgia in her gaze. It wasn’t an obsession with the character of Wyatt Grant...
