My Wife is a Hidden Big Shot

Chapter 489: Extra - Leigh Miles x Dean Morgan (3)

「Saturday.」

Dean Morgan took the cake Leigh Miles had made with her own hands—after he’d added plenty of his own special ingredients—and went to the movie theater where the boy was supposed to meet her.

The boy from the other day was standing at the entrance, waiting for Leigh Miles.

He was tall and lanky, wearing a pair of headphones.

One hand was tucked in his pocket, the other holding his phone.

Nearby, quite a few girls were surreptitiously taking photos of him.

He was clearly the campus heartthrob type that all the girls adored.

It was the same approach Mr. C had tried when he went after Luna Jennings a while back.

Dean Morgan straightened his posture, carrying the cake box as he walked over.

He reached out and tapped the boy on the shoulder.

"You’re James Archer?"

The boy jumped, startled, and looked up at him.

The man before him was sharply dressed in a suit, his face stern and unsmiling.

He didn’t look like someone to mess with.

"Yes. And you are...?"

Dean Morgan extended his right hand. "Leigh Miles’s guardian," he said in a low voice.

The boy froze, his expression instantly tensing. He cautiously extended his own right hand. "Hello, sir..."

The word ’sir’ stung Dean Morgan. He pursed his lips and gripped the boy’s hand tightly.

His grip was so strong the boy’s features contorted in pain.

"Sir... ow, ow, ow..."

Dean Morgan released his hand and said without a hint of apology, "Sorry, I have a strong grip."

Shaking his hand, the boy watched him warily, knowing this man had come looking for trouble.

"What do you want?"

"You gave my Leigh a box of chocolates before. I tried one. The taste was acceptable, but they weren’t authentic imported chocolates from Southeland. Next time, buy her these."

Dean Morgan held out the chocolate cake he was carrying. "She has a hard time turning people down, so this is a return gift from her."

The boy felt nothing but embarrassment, his fair face flushing bright red.

The cake that had been shoved into his arms felt like a hot potato.

"Did you book the tickets yet?"

The boy was dumbfounded.

"Weren’t you going to treat her to a movie? She had something come up and couldn’t make it. I’ll watch it with you in her place..."

The boy immediately opened his terminal, displaying two electronic tickets.

"*You Are My First Love*? What kind of movie is this? She prefers suspense films, the ones starring Darius Lynch..."

Dean Morgan booked two tickets for a suspense film and forced the boy to watch the two-hour movie with him, cake and all.

When they came out, the boy was questioning his very existence.

Dean Morgan extended his right hand again, and the terrified boy took two steps back.

"It’s been a pleasure. Goodbye."

The boy was speechless.

***

When Leigh Miles went to school on Monday, she was surprised to find that the boy who was always bothering her had vanished.

In fact, whenever he saw her, he reacted like a mouse spotting a cat—turning on his heel and fleeing as if she were some kind of monster.

A few days later, her deskmate suddenly asked, "Leigh Miles, I never would have guessed. You’re a young lady from one of the Great Families?"

"Huh? No, I’m not."

But her deskmate didn’t believe her, her expression full of gossip.

"Don’t play dumb. The rumor is all over school. They’re saying you get chauffeured to and from school and that you only eat the finest imported chocolates from Southeland..."

"Huh?" Leigh Miles was completely baffled.

Her deskmate just assumed she was being modest and pressed on, "How many servants does your family have? Do people wait on you at meals?"

Leigh Miles was flabbergasted...

School gossip always traveled fast. Soon, people dug up the fact that Leigh Miles’s senior was the missing second daughter of the Sinclair Family, which immediately stirred up more debate.

The Sinclair Family seemed to have hit a streak of bad luck recently. Not only had they terminated their partnership with the Morgan Family, but they had also clashed with the Whitlock Family.

The internet was flooded with negative press about them.

Because of this news, even the students from the Great Families who had previously tried to get on her good side began to distance themselves from her.

Leigh Miles didn’t care about any of that. She just kept looking forward to the end of the school day so she could go work with Luna Jennings and earn some money.

「After school that day.」

Leigh Miles had just left the school building with her deskmate when they were surrounded by several boys from another school.

The leader had his chin tilted up, carrying himself with an air of supreme arrogance.

Leigh Miles took half a step forward, shielding her deskmate behind her as she watched him warily.

"You’re Leigh Miles?"

The leader looked her up and down, then said to the boy beside him, "She’s not bad looking."

Leigh Miles pursed her lips and started to pull her deskmate away, but another boy blocked her path.

The leader said cockily, "I’m not done talking. Who said you could leave?"

But before the words were even out of his mouth, the boy blocking Leigh Miles’s path was already crying out in pain, his arm twisted behind his back by her.

"I don’t have time to listen to you ramble."

The boys’ expressions changed, and the leader’s face darkened instantly. "You damn brat, believe it or not, I can have someone wipe out the Sinclair Family."

Leigh Miles instantly understood that this boy was connected to the Whitlock Family. She sneered, "You just try it!"
