Chapter 273 - 265: No Brothers Before the Sect
Flora Guthrie shot him a glare and explained,
"Sunstone has produced a Martial Lord, so even the Regulators have to think twice. Besides, the Guardian Assembly, which is held once every fifty years, is still five years away. Who knows how much Rory will grow in these five years? It’s not for them to say."
Quentin Stone thought for a moment before finally nodding.
The Guardian Assembly was when Guardians could be promoted to Regulators.
There were ten spots in total, evenly distributed among the Five Continents. Through a martial tournament, the two strongest individuals from each continent would earn the chance to challenge a Regulator.
If they succeeded, they could replace the Regulator and become the new one. If they failed, they would remain a Guardian.
As for the Regulators, victory meant they would continue their tenure, while failure meant they would be demoted to a Guardian.
Besides the difference in their duties, the two ranks also differed in the opportunities they had to train at the Holy Mountain.
Regulators could study Martial Arts at the Holy Mountain for three months every year, whereas Guardians only had three days.
The Holy Mountain was located at the Arctic Summit, the dwelling place of the Martial God.
It was filled with countless celestial treasures that could significantly enhance one’s Martial Arts realm and strength, making it a place of longing for all Guardians and Regulators in the Martial World.
Therefore, the Guardian Assembly held every fifty years could be considered the grandest event in the Martial World, and also the period most prone to outbreaks of war between nations.
Seeing their calm expressions, Beta Morgan’s frayed nerves began to settle.
He couldn’t help but feel a little sorry for the Lowell Family, who had just been crippled.
’I wonder what they’ll think when they find out about this?’

「The next day.」
Aurora Sinclair took Jared Miles, Leigh Miles, and Titus Miles to the Kaelan Mountains, where they stayed for several days.
Every day, Alvin Morgan would climb to the peak of Sunstone and gaze toward the Kaelan Mountains, his back view exuding a hint of desolation.
Beta Morgan whispered to Benjamin Morgan, "Pip, didn’t Aurora promise to teach the boss how to fight? Why didn’t she take him with them?"
Fanning the stove fire and watching the medicine on top, Benjamin Morgan said helplessly, "Aren’t you afraid the boss would turn into an ice sculpture before he even learned the Fist Technique?"
"Then why not teach him in the village?"
"This is her sect’s legacy. If you happened to steal a glance and learn it, do you think Aurora would blind you first, or just cripple you?"
"She’d cripple you of all your skills, of course, Mr. Beta," a familiar female voice suddenly interjected.
Leigh Miles was perched on the newly repaired wall outside the medicinal garden, and she hopped down with practiced ease.
"Leigh, that’s too harsh, don’t you think? I’m your financial backer, you know!"
Leigh Miles stuck out her tongue. "In the face of the sect, there are no brothers."
Beta Morgan was speechless.
「The peak of Sunstone.」
Alvin Morgan watched with a worried expression as a black figure scaled the mountain from below.
"Be careful..."
In less than ten minutes, a pair of small hands grabbed onto the rocks at the summit, and a figure vaulted up, as light as a swallow.
Aurora Sinclair was wearing the Sect Leader’s Robe of the Radiant Void Sect, with a bamboo basket slung over her shoulder.
Alvin Morgan went over to look and saw that it was filled with freshly picked herbs, including two Snow Lotuses.
He felt a little exasperated. ’She doesn’t even forget to pick herbs to pay off her debt while climbing a mountain...’
Ronan Warner bought medicinal herbs, so Aurora Sinclair and Leigh Miles would sometimes go to the Kaelan Mountains to gather herbs to pay off their debt.
Alvin Morgan took her hand and carefully cleaned it with a wet wipe.
"Finished teaching the technique?"
"Mhm..."
"What about them?"
"They’re still breaking through. My senior brother is breaking through to Martial King, and Tiger is breaking through to Martial Arts Master."
Alvin Morgan froze for a second, then let out a self-deprecating laugh. "Will you come to despise me?"
Aurora Sinclair shook her head. "You can practice this Fist Technique too. You should be able to reach the strength of a Great Martial Master."
Alvin Morgan’s breath hitched, and he narrowed his eyes slightly.
Aurora Sinclair took a sip of the water he offered and continued, "A Great Martial Master is a conservative estimate. It’s a perfect opportunity for you to try it out."
"So I’m your guinea pig?" Alvin Morgan raised an eyebrow.
Aurora Sinclair nodded bluntly. "There are no downsides."
"..."
Alvin Morgan took the water bottle and asked, "When are we going back to Kingsford?"
Aurora Sinclair glanced toward the Kaelan Mountains. "After my senior brother finishes his breakthrough."
Alvin Morgan’s eyes darkened slightly. He suddenly grabbed her hand. "It’s time you taught me the Fist Technique."
"Alright..."
「Ten more days passed.」
A sudden fluctuation of energy came from the direction of the Kaelan Mountains.
Aurora Sinclair’s expression changed slightly. "Stay here."
As Alvin Morgan watched with worry, Aurora Sinclair leaped off the Sunstone Cliffs.
Immediately after, a black shadow appeared amidst the white snow and gradually receded into the distance.
Alvin Morgan’s fists clenched tightly.
He was suddenly struck by the feeling that Aurora Sinclair might no longer belong to him in the future.

On the day they left Sunstone, a light drizzle began to fall from the sky.
Titus Miles and Indie Lowell stood at the village entrance, watching the group leave. This time, Titus didn’t cry or fuss. He bit his lip, holding back his tears.
Only after they were far in the distance did he turn around, hug Indie Lowell’s legs, and burst into tears.
Indie Lowell crouched down, pulled him into her arms, and comforted him tenderly, "You have to train hard in your Martial Arts. Once you become a Martial King, you can go find them."
Titus Miles sniffled and nodded emphatically.
Indie Lowell patted his head and tucked the Guardian Token he wore on his chest back into his clothes. "Don’t show this Jade Token to anyone so easily in the future."
Meanwhile, in an inconspicuous residence in Sunstone Town.
A man in a Western-style suit ran back, his face alight with excitement. "Young Master, someone just left Sunstone!"
Aiden Vance’s eyes lit up. "Let’s go. We’re going up Sunstone..."
But the man’s eyes flickered with hesitation. "Young Master, the madam and the young master might not be on the mountain. If we anger the one on Sunstone, our Vance Family..."
"If you’re too scared to go, I’ll go alone. I’ll accept it even if I’m beaten to death." Aiden Vance shot him a glare and started walking out with a look of grim determination.
Ever since Indie Lowell divorced him, his life had been going downhill.
His father had arranged for him to marry into the Quincy Family of Kingsford, but even after the wedding, he could never forget Indie Lowell.
It wasn’t until the Lowell Family sought out the Vance Family to besiege Sunstone that they learned Indie Lowell was there, and that the boy she had been searching for was their son.
His father was naturally delighted to hear this, because a descendant of the Vance Family was actually the disciple of the one on Sunstone. This meant he had a high chance of inheriting the Radiant Void Sect in the future, which would surely lead to the rise of the Vance Family.
But while they had correctly predicted that the Vance Family would rise, they had never imagined that the rise would come about because the one on Sunstone crippled the Lowell Family.
This had scared his father out of his wits, causing him to immediately sever all ties with the Lowell Family and forbid anyone from the Vance Family from setting foot on Sunstone.
But he finally had a chance to see Indie Lowell again. How could he just go back so easily?
So, he had secretly returned, staying in Sunstone Town and having his confidant watch the town entrance every day to see if any cars came down from Sunstone.
The Martial World had been restless lately, so it was highly likely that someone from Sunstone would come out to oversee things. When that happened, he could sneak up Sunstone to see Indie Lowell.
He never expected his wait to actually pay off.
"Young Master, wait for me..."
***
Indie Lowell never would have imagined that someone from the Great Families would still dare to come to Sunstone.
And that person was none other than her perpetually cowardly ex-husband.
What a surprise.
"Indie, I was wrong... Can you forgive me? Let’s start over..." Aiden Vance gazed at her with deep affection, his voice filled with pleading.
But Indie Lowell only looked at him with a cold expression and said sarcastically, "Start over? Hah... As your mistress?"
"I can divorce her—"
"She’s the Second Miss Quincy. As someone who’s been cast out of the Lowell Family, I can’t bear the role of the great madam of the Vance Family of Kingsford. Don’t forget, the Lowell Family has been crippled. Your Vance Family shouldn’t want anything to do with me."
From the moment her son had his accident until now, she had long since seen this man’s true colors.
He seemed affectionate, but in reality, he was the most heartless of all.
Weak, selfish, and spineless. He didn’t even have the courage to fight for her and their son.
If it weren’t for the fact that Derek Vance had no other sons, a coward like him would have been stripped of his Young Master title long ago.
"Go back! Before the Guardian returns."
"I won’t leave! I want you and our son..." Aiden Vance strode forward, trying to embrace Indie Lowell.
But she took several steps back. "Warner..."
A yellow figure stood up from in front of the stone monument at the village entrance, baring its teeth at him.
Aiden Vance froze in his tracks.
Indie Lowell frowned and shouted sternly, "Get lost, now! The Guardian will be back any second—"
"Don’t try to fool me. I saw them leave..."
Before the words had even left his mouth, a Jade Token slammed hard into his chest.
Aiden Vance staggered back seven or eight steps, clutching his chest as he coughed up a mouthful of blood.
Indie Lowell picked up the Jade Token and showed him the words on it. "Get lost—"
Aiden Vance’s face went pale with fright, and he scrambled and stumbled his way down the mountain.
His confidant, who was waiting halfway down the mountain, saw him and his face changed drastically. "Young Master..."
"The Guardian is on the mountain..."
