Swarms of thick-bodied, serpent-like Fierce Beasts, each with a sharp horn on its head, appeared before the human and her two beasts.

In absolute terror, Wu Yue shoved her fist into her mouth.

’What the hell? Can someone please tell me why a legendary creature like a Flood Dragon is even in this place? And...’

"Host, that’s... that’s one of *those*, isn’t it!"

The System’s two little front paws were curled up as it tried its best to shrink and make itself invisible.

Wu Yue nodded, her face stiff. "Yep, you’re not wrong. Looking at their heads and tails, there’s no doubt about it."

"ROAR!"

The moment the pack of Single-horned Flood Dragon Beasts saw Wu Yue, their already savage eyes turned an even deeper shade of crimson, brimming with killing intent.

The lead Single-horned Flood Dragon Beast let out a furious roar, twisting its body as it led its clan charging toward them.

’Those damned Beastmen had killed so many of their kind. Today, they would tear every Beastman in this deep forest to shreds.’

"AWOO!"

Jokes were jokes, but when it was time to fight, Wu Yue didn’t waste a second. She took out a Crystal Core, tossed it into Tayun’s mouth, and gave her witch’s wand a flick.

Just as Tayun sent one Single-horned Flood Dragon Beast flying with a kick, Wu Yue’s witch’s wand smashed down on another’s head.

The vicious blow sent the creature that had just tried to pounce on her flying, even shattering the horn it took such pride in.

The scent of blood only provoked the ferocity of the Single-horned Flood Dragon Beast pack, and their attacks grew even more intense.

"Hiyah~"

The System launched a flying kick at the face of a Single-horned Flood Dragon Beast behind it, but its weak little paws failed to inflict any damage.

The System snapped out of its reverie over the wonderful "foot-feel." With a flip of its chubby little body, it landed back on Tayun’s spine.

"Host, there are way too many of these Fierce Beasts! The three of us can’t possibly fight them all."

Hearing this, Wu Yue wiped the blood from her face. "I know, but look up..."

The System froze, then looked up toward the canopy of the deep forest. "Ho... holy shit!"

’These Fierce Beasts have no decency! Seeing that Tayun has wings, they’ve even filled the treetops with more Single-horned Flood Dragons.’

’Now, even having wings is useless...’

It mournfully patted its chubby little body. ’Is my life really going to end here?’

"System! System?"

Suddenly, a sharp pinch on its fat butt yanked the System from its sorrow. The intense pain made its small, furry face twist into a grimace.

’That hurts like hell!’

"What was that for, Host?! Why did you attack my butt!"

Wu Yue kept swinging her witch’s wand as she glanced at the unreliable System beside her. "This is a life-or-death situation, and you’re just spacing out?

Hurry up and open the System Mall! See if there are any weapons of mass destruction or something."

The System was horrified. "A wea... weapon of mass destruction?"

’Isn’t that taking things a little too far?’

But as it watched the endless waves of Single-horned Flood Dragon Beasts surging toward them, it steeled its nerves, put on a solemn expression, and opened the System Mall.

After some searching, its eyes finally landed on an area-of-effect weapon that also had some lingering after-effects.

"Host, I found a Concussive Poison Gas Grenade! It has a wide blast radius and releases a long-lasting poison. Even if the explosion doesn’t kill them, the poison will finish off these scumbags."
