Chapter 748 - 736: I Want You to Marry Me (24)
Half an hour later, the car arrived at the Bishop estate.
The moment he stepped out of the car and saw Yara Ross, his expression soured. With a cold glare, he motioned for Howard Rhodes to get rid of her.
Howard Rhodes nodded and strode to Yara Ross’s side. He grabbed her wrist, holding her still. "Ms. Ross, please show some dignity. Don’t forget your place."
Hearing this, Yara Ross turned her head. When she saw Howard Rhodes’s familiar face, she was stunned. The next second, her eyes blazing, she screamed, "You liar!!!!!!!"
Howard Rhodes was completely stunned. He had no idea why Ms. Ross was calling him a liar.
But Yara Ross was already on the verge of a complete breakdown. She’d lost her money, and she’d lost her family. Without a second thought, she screamed at Howard Rhodes, "This is all your fault! Give me back my billion! Give me back my billion!!"
After her tirade, Howard Rhodes finally understood why Ms. Ross was treating him like an enemy.
Just as Howard Rhodes was about to ask Archie Lockwood if he should have her forcibly removed, a stern, cold voice cut in. "Stop! What do you think you’re doing!"
"Harold, you’re here..." The moment Yara Ross saw Harold Bishop step outside, she cried out, her voice filled with grievance.
But she didn’t realize how disgusting and repulsive it was for a woman her age to play the victim. "What are you doing here!"
"Harold, I was wrong. Let’s not get divorced, okay?"
Harold Bishop’s lips curled into a cold sneer. "Yara Ross, for the sake of the years we were married, I’ll overlook you causing a scene today. Now go."
Seeing that Harold Bishop wouldn’t soften, Yara Ross roared, "Harold Bishop, you are heartless!" ’To think the bond between husband and wife could just vanish so quickly...’
"However heartless I am, it’s nothing compared to you." He remembered it perfectly: while he and Eleanor were both lying in the hospital, this woman was planning to take the money and run.
If Archie Lockwood hadn’t acted so quickly, she would’ve been long gone. There’s no way she’d be back here admitting she was wrong.
As she watched Harold Bishop wave his men over to drag her away, Yara Ross began to wail and scream.
Archie Lockwood watched Harold Bishop walk into the mansion. After the gossiping guests had followed, he handed his invitation to a servant and went inside as well.
The moment Archie Lockwood entered the living room, his eyes began to sweep the area, searching for Eleanor Bishop.
But after scanning the room and seeing no sign of her, a knot of unease began to form in his chest.
His expression grim, he strode toward Harold Bishop.
Harold Bishop was on the sofa sipping tea. When he saw Archie approaching, he merely gave him a brief, indifferent glance before turning back to his conversation.
Archie Lockwood clenched his fists. Suppressing the anxiety rising within him, he asked in a low voice, "Eleanor... is... is she all right..."
His question was met with silence. Harold Bishop continued to sip his tea and chat.
"Bishop, I want to see her. May I?" ’He’s been hiding her for three months, and I still have no idea how I’ve offended Eleanor’s father.’
’First, he spirited her away in the dead of night, then hid her where I couldn’t find her. Now that she’s back, he still won’t let me see her...’
The man talking with Harold Bishop frowned and sized up Archie Lockwood. "Mayor Bishop, and this is...?"
Harold Bishop casually lit a cigarette. Leaning back on the sofa with a smirk, he answered coolly, "Oh, just an uninvited guest."
Archie Lockwood had never been treated with such disrespect. His expression instantly turned foul.
’If I weren’t so worried about Eleanor, so desperate to see how she’s doing, I’d never allow myself to stay here and suffer this humiliation!’
