Ian Shaw nodded and replied quietly. He didn’t seem to want to continue their conversation about the crowd downstairs, instead changing the subject. "Tiana, I heard from your brother that you’re planning to get engaged to the Joyce family’s Little Tyrant?"
"Yes..." Tiana’s cheeks flushed slightly as she nodded with a smile.
Ian Shaw walked over to Tiana with a smile and ruffled her hair. "Haha, who would’ve thought that in the end, it’d be our little princess Tiana who tamed the Joyce family’s Little Tyrant. But then again, that Little Tyrant seems like the type to really dote on his wife. If you marry him, you’ll definitely be happy. He’ll never let you be wronged." He vividly remembered what Leo Joyce had said at Vespera, that day they had all tried to force Cassian Jennings to marry Amelia Avery. Those words left a deep impression on him, which was why he was so sure Leo Joyce was a good, responsible man.
He had always thought that little handful from the Avery family would be the one to end up with the Joyce family’s Little Tyrant. He never expected that in the end, the Little Tyrant would be won over by Tiana.
Still, this was for the best. They were a great match. With the Little Tyrant by her side, the little princess wouldn’t have to worry about being bullied anymore.
Listening to Ian’s words, Tiana Grayson felt happy, but a moment later, the thought of her family made her sigh. "But my brother and my mom don’t like him." ’Now Mom isn’t even speaking to me. How can I possibly be happy? Ugh...’
"Haha, don’t pay any attention to them. Especially not your brother. That guy has no judgment and no brains." ’If he had even a little bit of sense, he wouldn’t have spent so many years waffling between two women.’
Tiana couldn’t help but stifle a laugh. "Ian, if you say that about my brother, aren’t you afraid he’ll find out?"
"AHEM..." Ian Shaw immediately feigned a look of terror. "Tiana, you’re my dear little sister. You’re not going to tell your brother what I just said, are you?"
"I can’t make any promises!" Tiana gave Ian Shaw a mischievous wink, then turned with a triumphant smile and headed for her bedroom.
Watching her, Ian Shaw’s eyes filled with amusement. ’Her triumphant little expression is exactly the same as when she was a child.’ It seemed she and the Joyce family’s Little Tyrant were truly getting along well.
’The Joyce family’s Little Tyrant really did cure Tiana of her old anxieties.’ At that thought, the amusement in his eyes deepened. He stuffed his hands in his pockets and headed downstairs.
By the time Ian Shaw got downstairs, Archie Lockwood and Tristan Grayson were already there.
Aiden Avery had also rushed over with a doctor.
All of Caleb Grayson’s grievances vanished the moment he saw Archie Lockwood. His face etched with guilt, he sat on the sofa and began to tell Archie about what had happened all those years ago, nearly breaking down in tears several times.
Archie Lockwood didn’t say a single word. His face was completely devoid of expression, as if the man before him wasn’t speaking to him at all.
’Perhaps no one could forgive something like this. He wasn’t a good man, so there was absolutely no way he would ever forgive the people who had hurt his mother.’
’He couldn’t understand. How could someone be so heartless? How could they watch their own relative get sick and die, abandoned?’
’How could they be so cruel as to believe malicious rumors from outsiders instead of their own family...’
Suddenly, Tristan Grayson cut Caleb Grayson off. He looked up at Archie Lockwood and said coldly, "This can’t be over just like that. Whatever you want to do, I’ll support you with everything I’ve got!"
"That’s right! We absolutely can’t let this go," Ian Shaw chimed in. "I’ve never backed down from a fight in my life. It’s just Jason Lockwood, what’s there to be afraid of? Besides, we have so much information on him now. I refuse to believe that all of us together can’t take him down!"
