Chapter 229: Disgusting
"I’m not stopping you from going in. I’m just asking why you’re early," Louise Jordan said, her face cold as she withdrew her hand.
Seeing that Louise was no longer blocking the door, Maggie Monroe scoffed, turned her head, and pushed the cart into the hospital room.
Watching the "nurse" enter the room, a sinister smile touched the corners of Louise’s lips. She turned to the man standing beside her and said, "Go get the boss, now. We have a suspicious person here."
"Yes."
After giving the order, Louise followed her into the room.
When Maggie saw that the woman who had stopped her had also come in, the hand holding the IV bag trembled slightly...
Louise walked over, snatched the IV bag from Maggie’s hand, and said in a cool tone, "Looking at you, you must be new, right?"
"Uh, yes. I’m new."
Louise found the woman laughably foolish. ’How dare she try such a petty trick?’ "I’m sorry, but this is just your bad luck," she said. "Our young lady is far too important to be a test subject for a rookie like you."
Maggie forced herself to remain calm. "My skills are fine, you don’t have to worry." As she spoke, she tried to snatch the IV bag back from Louise’s hand.
"Skills are fine? It looks to me like you don’t know what you’re doing at all!"
"W-With you watching me, h-how am I supposed to insert the needle? Get out!" She wasn’t here to administer an IV at all; she just wanted to see this woman and convince her to leave Tristan on her own.
"Heh. Miss, I think you should understand that impersonating medical personnel is a jailable offense," Louise said coldly, a mocking smile on her lips.
Hearing this, Maggie’s body trembled violently. "W-What nonsense are you talking about? Who’s impersonating medical personnel?"
"Well, besides you, I don’t see anyone else here."
"You suspect me? Fine! I don’t want to give her the drip anyway." Maggie pretended to be angry, turning to leave with the cart.
But standing at the door was an incredibly handsome man. His eyes were cold as he stared intently at her.
Being watched by that kind of gaze made her even more uneasy.
’This man feels a lot like Tristan,’ she thought. ’It’s not just the dangerous aura about him; even their faces are somewhat similar. It’s just that Tristan looks a bit more masculine, while this man leans more toward handsome and refined...’
"Boss," Louise Jordan said sharply, nodding at Archie Summers.
Archie Summers’ thin lips parted. "Call the police."
"Yes, Boss," Louise replied coldly, pulling out her phone to make the call.
At his words, Maggie was snapped out of her thoughts. She turned to see Louise’s actions and began to tremble all over in fear. "Don’t call! Don’t call the police!"
"Heh... Give me one reason not to." ’Coming here, trying to harm my sister, and you expect to get away scot-free?’
"I... I..."
"Call them!"
"Yes!"
...Just as Maggie was so scared her eyes filled with tears, not knowing what to do, the woman in the hospital bed opened her eyes.
"Bro, let her go!" This woman’s voice was a unique trigger for her; it could startle her awake even from a deep sleep.
"Mika, she came here to harm you, and you still want me to let her go?"
Mika Summers’ voice was tinged with pain. "Bro, I don’t want to see anyone connected to Tristan Grayson!"
"Mika??" Archie Summers cried out in surprise, his gaze turning even colder as he looked at Maggie Monroe.
Maggie was equally shocked and looked at Archie in disbelief. ’This man is her brother?? A man this exceptional is her brother?’
"Let her go! I don’t want to see her! And I certainly don’t want to be in the same room as any of them!" The disgusting scent they carried made her stomach churn.
