I have no fucking clue how a wedge actually works. If you actually care, go bother the Researchers we keep locked up in the bowels of Delver HQ. Kidding, of course, they’re free to leave whenever they want. Promise.
Anyway, the wedge is the most expensive fucking thing anyone is likely to ever entrust to you. They’re also nearly certain to explode with extreme lethality if you’re stupid enough to try and take one apart to see how it works. Personally, I think that’s a feature.
All you actually need to know is that the wedge is the single biggest advantage Delvers have when it comes to clearing dungeons. Having an escape route has saved countless thousands of lives over the centuries. Virtually every living Delver has escaped at least one dungeon through a wedge portal.
Wedges aren’t a fucking get out of jail free card, however. Let’s talk about some of their downsides.
