Unrivaled Soldier in the City

Chapter 494: Designated Location

"I’m here to kill you! Didn’t you say you’ve always been suppressing me? Good. Tonight, we fight to decide the victor, a battle of life and death!" Looking at Lin Kuang, Gao Dongran’s eyes blazed with fighting spirit.

He had trained relentlessly for over a year with the singular goal of defeating Lin Kuang. Lin Kuang had long cast a shadow over him, a shadow he had to extinguish by killing the man himself.

"Oh, so you came here to die," Lin Kuang said with a smile. "Fine by me. If you want to die, I’ll happily oblige. Tell me, where would you like to die?"

"There’s an open field in the suburbs. It’s deserted—perfect for our battle," Gao Dongran said coldly, suppressing the rage in his heart.

"Oh, not bad, not bad at all. You’ve even chosen your own burial ground. In that case, let’s go. I will grant you your death," Lin Kuang said calmly, his composed demeanor making it clear he didn’t take Gao Dongran seriously in the slightest.

Gao Dongran’s heart seethed with fury, an uncontrollable rage that made him want to fight Lin Kuang right then and there.

"Talk is cheap. Follow me," Gao Dongran said, turning to leave.

"Wait for me to come back, girls! I’ll be fine, don’t worry. With all of you waiting for me, how could I bear to die? You haven’t even given me any chubby babies yet," Lin Kuang said with a laugh, seeing the worried looks on the women’s faces.

Hearing his frivolous words, the women couldn’t help but roll their eyes, though they still urged him to be careful.

Lin Kuang nodded and walked out the door.

He watched Gao Dongran get into a car, then slid into his own Maserati and followed. Once they left the residential complex, Gao Dongran’s Audi shot forward, its engine roaring as it tore down the highway at an incredible speed. He was clearly provoking Lin Kuang into a race.

A playful smile touched Lin Kuang’s lips. A race? You’re not even qualified. Let me show you what it means to be thoroughly crushed.

With that thought, Lin Kuang slammed his foot on the accelerator and shifted gears. The Maserati transformed into a phantom, pushing its speed to the absolute limit.

Just as Lin Kuang suspected, Gao Dongran did indeed want to race. He wanted to take Lin Kuang down a peg and humble his arrogance. But when Gao Dongran glanced at his rearview mirror, his expression soured. Lin Kuang was already catching up, his car even faster than his own.

Gao Dongran shifted gears again, and the new Audi surged forward like an untamed beast. The road was busy, especially at this time of day. Other drivers swerved and shouted curses as the two cars blazed past, but it was utterly useless.

A smile remained on Lin Kuang’s face. He calmly watched the Audi ahead, his hands deftly turning the steering wheel and overtaking one vehicle after another. Soon, he was driving side-by-side with Gao Dongran.

Lin Kuang turned his head slightly, shooting Gao Dongran a provocative glance that made his rival’s face twist with anger.

Damn it! Gao Dongran roared internally, pushing the already speeding car even harder. The engine howled as if it were about to hit its breaking point.

As the Audi rocketed forward, Lin Kuang merely smiled and floored the accelerator, once again pulling up alongside him.

Gao Dongran is just asking for a beatdown. Trying to race my Maserati sports car with his Audi sedan? Is he out of his mind? Lin Kuang thought.

Seeing Lin Kuang easily keeping pace, Gao Dongran’s face contorted with fury, but there was nothing he could do. His Audi was at its absolute limit; it couldn’t go any faster.

And so, seething with impotent rage, Gao Dongran led Lin Kuang to a deserted clearing on the outskirts of the city. The two cars screeched to a halt, and both men got out.

Surveying the open space, which was bordered by a dense forest, Lin Kuang nodded. "Gao Dongran, you have good taste. This place will make a fine cemetery for you. Did you consult a feng shui master before picking this spot?" he asked with a smirk.

Already simmering with anger, Gao Dongran’s face turned uglier at the remark. "Lin Kuang, you’re courting death!" he roared. Unable to hold back any longer, he threw a punch straight at Lin Kuang’s head.

Despite the incoming attack, Lin Kuang remained perfectly calm. "It’s been over a year, and you’re still this weak. How disappointing," he said coolly, his hand darting out like lightning to easily catch Gao Dongran’s fist. "I told you, your strength has always been pathetic. You’re not qualified to defeat me. Why don’t you have your little hidden rats come out? Dealing with you alone is too boring."

With a flick of his wrist, Lin Kuang sent Gao Dongran stumbling back, nearly making him fall flat on his face.

At that moment, Gao Dongran’s expression was incredibly grim. He hadn’t used his full strength in that punch; it had only been a probe. However, he knew with certainty that Lin Kuang hadn’t used his full power either. What truly horrified him was that Lin Kuang knew about the ambush. Had someone tipped him off, or had he simply sensed their presence?

"What’s the matter? You set up an ambush but don’t have the guts to admit it? Gao Dongran, when did you become such a coward you can’t even own up to your own actions?" Lin Kuang asked lightly, his tone dripping with mockery.

Gao Dongran’s face flushed crimson, and he was about to retort when several figures flickered into existence, surrounding him. A total of six men appeared, led by Fan Qing.

Fan Qing looked at Gao Dongran and said with a smile, "Mr. Gao, why bother getting angry with a man who’s about to die?" A man who can’t even control his emotions will never amount to anything. he thought with a hint of disdain.

At his words, Gao Dongran forced himself to calm down.

"Tsk, tsk. And what are you supposed to be?" Lin Kuang said with a grin, looking at Fan Qing. Fan Qing’s words had annoyed him, so it was only natural to strike back. "Your breath smells like shit. Is that what you grew up eating?" Of course, Lin Kuang already knew these men were from the Fan Family, but he had to keep up the act and ask a few questions.

Fan Qing, who had just been counseling Gao Dongran to remain calm, felt his own face darken at Lin Kuang’s words. The insult was blatant. Given his high status in the Fan Family, Fan Qing was used to being treated with deference. To be spoken to like this was infuriating.
