Unrivaled Soldier in the City

Chapter 489: Frog in a Well

Seeing this, Lin Kuang laughed mockingly. He swiftly changed the direction of his sword, Nameless, once again blocking Heno Sumio’s attack.

Seeing Lin Kuang’s disdainful and completely composed demeanor, an indescribable rage ignited in Heno Sumio’s heart.

"Damn Chinaman, is defending all you know how to do?!"

"For trash like you, the fact that I’m only defending means I’m showing you respect. Otherwise, I would have sent you flying in three moves," Lin Kuang said calmly.

Hearing this, Heno Sumio’s anger intensified, his eyes flashing with murderous intent.

"Arrogant Chinaman!" With a shout, Heno Sumio suddenly lashed out with a kick, aiming a vicious and deadly blow straight at Lin Kuang’s groin.

Lin Kuang’s expression turned cold the moment he saw the attack. Since this little devil from the Island Country wants to die, I’ll be happy to oblige! With that thought, he lifted his right leg and slammed his knee forward.

An instant later, Heno Sumio’s foot collided with Lin Kuang’s knee.

BANG!

Heno Sumio was sent flying backward, his expression becoming incredibly grim. He hadn’t expected Lin Kuang to be so strong. His leg went completely numb, losing all mobility in an instant.

Seeing this, Lin Kuang felt a hint of disdain. This guy’s strength really is nothing special. He pressed forward, not even bothering to use the Willow Catkin Technique. In his eyes, Heno Sumio wasn’t worthy of it.

As Lin Kuang rushed toward him, Heno Sumio desperately stamped his other foot on the ground to steady himself.

At that moment, Lin Kuang’s sword, Nameless, glinted with a cold light as it shot toward Heno Sumio’s throat. Its speed was incredible, closing the distance in the blink of an eye.

Panic flashed in Heno Sumio’s eyes. In the next instant, he retreated rapidly, holding his katana horizontally in front of his throat.

CLANG!

The tip of Nameless struck the flat of the katana’s blade.

Immediately, Lin Kuang applied pressure, causing Nameless to bend. A moment later, with a flick of his wrist, he made the blade snap straight again. The force of the blade straightening transferred directly into Heno Sumio’s katana.

Having just barely steadied himself, Heno Sumio felt a tremendous force surge up his arm, making it go numb. He was completely unable to block the attack and was sent flying backward once again.

Seeing this, the cold smile on Lin Kuang’s face deepened as he gave chase. There was a wall right behind Heno Sumio. If he retreated any further, he would slam right into it.

Just then, Heno Sumio summoned all his strength, stomped his feet hard on the ground, and abruptly shifted his entire body to the side. But in that same instant, Lin Kuang’s kick struck. It was unbelievably fast, and its timing left Heno Sumio with no chance to dodge.

In an instant, Heno Sumio’s face turned deathly pale, a flash of terror in his eyes.

"Get out of here!" Lin Kuang snorted coldly, slamming a vicious kick into Heno Sumio’s abdomen.

BANG! BANG!

The first sound was Heno Sumio taking the full force of Lin Kuang’s kick; the second was his body slamming hard against the wall.

The force behind Lin Kuang’s kick was so terrifying that the wall couldn’t withstand it. Heno Sumio’s body blasted right through it, and a large section of the wall collapsed, burying him under a pile of fallen bricks.

Seeing this, Lin Kuang stood his ground and clapped his hands together. "Too weak. You wanted to kill me with that pathetic amount of strength?" he said with a mix of disappointment and disdain.

If this is all the strength Heno Sumio has, he was really overestimating himself. I haven’t even activated the Open Door, and he’s already been completely crushed!

"Looks like this Yamaguchi pig is nothing special, just another good-for-nothing," Lin Kuang muttered to himself.

"Aaargh! Damn you, Chinaman! I’m going to kill you! I’m going to kill you!" Heno Sumio roared in fury.

The next moment, with a tremendous roar, the bricks pinning him down exploded outward, shooting off in all directions. In response, Lin Kuang circulated his True Qi, and the bricks flying toward him fell harmlessly to the ground.

Heno Sumio struggled to his feet, looking utterly wretched. He was covered in dust, his face was smeared with blood, and his skin was scraped raw where the bricks had hit him. He looked like a complete madman.

"Hey, hey, if you want to kill me, stop just shouting about it. Show me some real skill," Lin Kuang said, looking at the disheveled man with some annoyance. "Otherwise, with the pathetic amount of strength you’ve shown, you don’t stand a chance."

A man’s greatest virtue is to know his own limits, but this guy seemed completely delusional.

"Fine! Fine! You forced my hand! You forced me! I’ll show you my true power!" Heno Sumio roared, his rage pushed to the absolute limit.

Lin Kuang shrugged helplessly. "Hey, can we get a new line? Don’t you realize how tiresome it is to hear you repeat yourself over and over?" he said, looking at Heno Sumio with utter contempt.

Hearing this, Heno Sumio, who had been on the verge of erupting, began screaming in a rage. He was like an angry gorilla, just short of beating his own chest.

"What are you screeching about? Your hemorrhoids flaring up?" Lin Kuang couldn’t help but ask curiously.

"Damn it! Damn it! You damned Chinaman! I will kill you today! I will slice you into a thousand pieces!" Heno Sumio bellowed. As he roared, a thick, black aura erupted from his body.

Lin Kuang had been about to tease the little devil some more, but when he suddenly sensed this new aura, his expression changed slightly.

"This aura again... What is your relationship with Inoue Kenta and Kubo Takumi?" Lin Kuang frowned, watching the black aura pulsing from Heno Sumio’s body and feeling his power surge.

"Those two failures were my junior brothers! Chinaman, today you will die! I will show you what true power is!" The black aura radiating from Heno Sumio’s body intensified, and his strength grew even more terrifying.

Lin Kuang looked at him with a weary expression. "By the way, have you ever heard the expression ’a frog in a well’?"

"A frog in a well?" Heno Sumio asked blankly.

"The story is about a frog who lived at the bottom of a well. Every day, all it could see was the small patch of sky visible from the well’s opening. Because of this, it believed the sky was tiny and insignificant. It even thought it was the greatest being in the world.

"But one day, it managed to climb out. It saw a sky so vast and endless that it finally realized how truly insignificant it was beneath it.

"And you? You’re that frog," Lin Kuang said with utter disdain. "In that tiny little Island Country of yours, you might think you’re strong. But once you leave, you’ll discover you are nothing at all!"
