Chapter 480: Misunderstood
This is insane. To learn and use a technique on the spot and execute the Willow Catkin Technique to this extent... Is he even human? Pei Jingcheng thought, stunned.
Meanwhile, Lin Kuang paid him no mind. He drifted like a willow catkin in the wind, his speed reaching an extreme. He was toying with both Pei Jingqi and Pei Kuoyan at the same time. Their strength was comparable to his, but they couldn’t keep up with his swift Willow Catkin Technique. Even Pei Jingcheng was struggling, gritting his teeth as he gave chase, but the distance between him and Lin Kuang only grew wider. Lin Kuang was not only fast but also incredibly agile, weaving through the forest in a path so confusing it almost made Pei Jingcheng dizzy.
"Haha, I told you that you couldn’t keep me here! Goodbye, Pei Family. I might come back to visit sometime!" Lin Kuang laughed heartily as he moved further and further away, quickly widening the gap between himself and Pei Jingcheng.
"Damn it!" Pei Jingcheng cursed fiercely once Lin Kuang’s figure disappeared from view, his heart filled with immense rage. After going to so much trouble to trap him, Lin Kuang had still managed to escape. This was simply unbearable.
By then, Lin Kuang had reached the spot directly below the circling helicopter. He leaped powerfully and grabbed onto the rope ladder, scrambling into the cabin as nimbly as a monkey. After pulling up the ladder and closing the door, Lin Kuang finally sat down.
"Let’s go. Back to East Sea," Lin Kuang said with a smile, glancing at the pilot.
The pilot nodded hurriedly and steered the helicopter swiftly toward East Sea. Only then did Lin Kuang turn his gaze to the Witch beside him.
"Are you alright?" he asked caringly, pulling the Witch into his arms.
The Witch obediently nestled in his embrace and nodded gently. "Mhm, I’m fine. Are you okay?" she asked, looking up at him with worry.
"Of course I am. I feel great and my appetite’s as good as ever," Lin Kuang said with a beaming smile.
Seeing this, the Witch finally let out a sigh of relief and settled into his embrace, enjoying its warmth. Lin Kuang said nothing more, simply holding the frightened girl quietly in his arms.
It was nearly eleven at night when Lin Kuang brought the Witch back to the East Sea Military Region. Yang Wucheng was already waiting outside when they stepped off the helicopter, as he had been worried about Lin Kuang’s safety.
"Kid, are you okay?" Yang Wucheng asked with concern as Lin Kuang emerged.
Seeing Yang Wucheng’s worried expression, Lin Kuang couldn’t help but smile. "Yes, I’m fine. Thanks for your concern, Uncle Yang."
"Alright, enough with the formalities," Yang Wucheng chided with a laugh. "If you’re fine, then get going. Hurry back."
Lin Kuang nodded, and after saying goodbye to Yang Wucheng, he left with the Witch.
Watching Lin Kuang’s departing figure, Yang Wucheng felt a mix of emotions. He wasn’t a fool; he could tell that there was more to Lin Kuang and the girl than met the eye. Ah, the affairs of young people are so messy. It’s best to let them sort it out themselves, Yang Wucheng muttered somewhat gloomily before turning to leave.
Lin Kuang was now driving, hurrying to get the Witch home. Now that she was safely back in East Sea, the Witch finally began to relax. A smile returned to her doll-like face as she started talking. Seeing this, Lin Kuang breathed a sigh of relief. He was glad the girl hadn’t suffered any lasting psychological trauma, as that would have been difficult to handle.
"Wait, this isn’t the way home, is it?" the Witch couldn’t help but ask, noticing the direction he was driving.
Lin Kuang just chuckled. "Of course not. I’m looking for a place to sell you. A beautiful girl like you must be worth a lot of money," he said, giving her a mischievous smirk.
The Witch shot him an annoyed glare. "Get out of here, you perv."
"It’s true! Why would I lie to you? I’m not that kind of person!" Lin Kuang said with a straight face.
"Ugh, what are you really up to?" the Witch demanded irritably.
"Why don’t you guess? Guess what I want to do," Lin Kuang replied with a sly smile, looking at her delicate, doll-like face.
Hearing this, the Witch’s pretty face blushed. She glanced around at the deserted, empty street. "You... you... you’re not thinking of doing... *that*, are you?" she asked, her face flushing.
"Hmm? Doing what?" Lin Kuang prodded with a wicked grin.
"You know... *that*... in the car..." she said, her face beet red.
"Ah, now that you mention it, that actually sounds like an excellent idea," Lin Kuang said, nodding thoughtfully.
"You jerk! You perv! Not today! I-I haven’t even showered in two days!" she stammered, her face crimson.
"Ahem, okay, okay. Actually, I really am just taking you home," Lin Kuang said with a beaming smile.
"Huh? We’re really just going home?" the Witch asked, her face still flushed with embarrassment.
"Really. We moved while you were gone," Lin Kuang said with a laugh.
"For real?" she asked, sounding incredulous.
"For real. We’re almost there," he replied, still laughing.
At his words, the Witch blushed and lowered her head, too mortified to look at him. Lin Kuang just smiled faintly and drove up to the manor Lin Guo’er had recently purchased.
"We’re here," he announced with a grin, parking the car inside the estate. "This is our new home."
The Witch was still looking around in disbelief when Liu Shilin, Lin Guo’er, Yang Ruotong, and Yang Ruoxi all rushed out of the house.
"Shiyu! You-you’re back?" Liu Shilin exclaimed, her face a mixture of surprise and relief as she saw the Witch get out of the car.
Seeing Liu Shilin’s worried expression, tears instantly welled up in the Witch’s beautiful eyes. "Sister!" the Witch cried out, running toward her.
The two sisters embraced, sobbing with the sheer joy of being reunited. A smile spread across Lin Kuang’s face as he watched the scene.
"Alright, alright, stop crying. Everything’s fine now," Lin Kuang said gently, taking both of their hands. "If you must cry, let’s do it inside."
"Okay," the two sisters nodded through their tears and followed him into the house.
Once inside, with everyone’s comforting words, Liu Shilin and the Witch finally stopped crying. It was only then that the Witch noticed Yang Ruotong and Yang Ruoxi, two girls she didn’t recognize.
"Sister, who are they?" she asked curiously, wiping the last of the tears from her eyes.
Hearing this, Lin Guo’er chuckled and sat down next to the Witch. "This is Yang Ruotong, or Sister Tong, and this is Yang Ruoxi. They’re that jerk’s women, of course," she introduced with a mischievous smile. "But never mind him. Just know that Sister Tong and Ruoxi are our good sisters now."
Her words made both Yang Ruotong’s and Yang Ruoxi’s pretty faces flush red with embarrassment.
