Chapter 454: Arrogant Girl
Back in the living room, the two women had already prepared dinner.
"It’s gotten a bit cold," Liu Shilin said somewhat helplessly as she saw Lin Kuang walk in.
"It’s okay. The food my wife Shilin makes is delicious even when it’s cold." Sitting at the dining table, Lin Kuang said with a smile as he picked up his chopsticks and dug in.
Watching Lin Kuang devour his food, Liu Shilin was speechless, yet she felt very happy inside.
"Guo’er, let’s eat too," Liu Shilin said with a smile, glancing at Lin Guo’er.
Lin Guo’er nodded, and the three of them began to eat.
After dinner, Lin Kuang started clearing the table while the two women sat on the couch watching TV.
"How about we go for a walk? It’s so boring just staying at home," Lin Guo’er said, seeing that Lin Kuang had finished with the dishes.
At her words, Liu Shilin also looked toward Lin Kuang. To be honest, she wanted to go for a walk, too. After all, most women love to shop.
Seeing the hopeful look in their eyes, Lin Kuang laughed and nodded. "Sure. It’s not like we’re doing anything else."
Hearing Lin Kuang’s words, the two women nodded happily. Lin Guo’er even planted a kiss on the corner of Lin Kuang’s mouth, looking overjoyed.
Lin Kuang smiled, but he felt a pang of guilt. These two women were so willing to be with him, yet he had hardly ever taken them out. He felt deeply guilty that a simple shopping trip could make them this happy.
I’ll definitely spend more time with you both in the future,
Lin Kuang thought to himself. The three of them got ready, and Lin Kuang drove the two women out, their destination naturally being the mall.
At the mall, Lin Kuang became a human pack mule as one bag after another was hung on him.
Just then, a girl shrieked, "Ouch!"
Realizing she had accidentally stepped on the girl’s shoe, Liu Shilin immediately apologized with a sincere tone, "I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to."
"Are you blind? Can’t you watch where you’re going?" the girl snapped, her tone nasty.
Liu Shilin frowned, a flicker of anger rising within her. However, since she was the one at fault, she forced a smile and said, "I’m truly sorry, it was an accident."
"What good does an apology do? Do you know how much these shoes cost?" the girl yelled back.
"Sorry, I really don’t know," Liu Shilin repeated.
"Hmph. A country bumpkin like you wouldn’t know, anyway. You couldn’t earn enough to buy these shoes in your entire life! Watch where you’re going from now on, you blind fool." The girl’s tone was venomous.
"They’re just shoes! What are you screaming for? We already apologized, what more do you want? Don’t be so shameless," Lin Guo’er snapped. Her temper was naturally fiery, and after hearing such nasty words, she couldn’t hold back any longer.
The girl might have let it go after venting, but Lin Guo’er’s retort undoubtedly provoked her.
"You filthy bitch, what did you just say? Who’s shameless? She’s the one who stepped on my shoe, and you’re calling me shameless?" the girl shrieked.
"Bitch? You’re the bitch! Watch your mouth! You look like someone’s kept woman, so stop acting all high and mighty in front of me."
At these words, the girl flared up. "You... who are you calling a kept woman? You’re the one who’s kept! Your whole family is kept!"
"Screw you!" Lin Guo’er snapped, swinging her arm and slapping the girl across the face. Lin Guo’er didn’t hold back, and her slap wasn’t gentle.
SMACK!
A crisp sound rang out. The girl was slapped into a stupor, clutching her face as she stared at Lin Guo’er in disbelief. She couldn’t believe anyone had dared to hit her.
"You hit me? You stinking bitch, you actually dared to slap me?" the girl said incredulously, her voice turning shrill.
"So what if I hit you? Someone with no manners like you deserves to be hit!" Lin Guo’er sneered.
"Alright, alright, you hit me. Brother Gao, someone hit me, come quick!" the girl cried out loudly, her gaze toward Lin Guo’er filled with hate.
By this time, a crowd of bystanders had gathered in the mall, watching and whispering among themselves.
"Just you wait! I’ll make every single one of you regret this!" the girl snarled, her expression menacing.
"Oh, really? We’ll be waiting right here. Let’s see what you can do to us," Lin Guo’er said disdainfully. In East Sea, there was no one she was truly afraid of.
"Excuse me, please let me through."
At that moment, a deep voice sounded out. A man holding two bottles of water emerged from the crowd and walked to the girl’s side.
"Yanxia, what’s wrong?" the man asked with a smile, looking at the resentful Shen Yanxia.
"Brother Gao, that woman hit me! She slapped me right across the face! You have to stand up for me!" Seeing that her Brother Gao had arrived, Shen Yanxia’s voice became delicate. Her large eyes welled with tears, and she looked utterly wronged.
"Oh?" The man paused, his gaze falling on Lin Guo’er and Liu Shilin. As for Lin Kuang, he was so covered in shopping bags that his face was completely obscured.
"Ladies," the man said with a smile, though his eyes were unnervingly calm. "Yanxia can be a bit willful, but she means no harm. Besides, no matter the reason, it was wrong of you to hit her. So, please apologize, and we can let this matter drop."
Lin Guo’er snorted. "My friend accidentally stepped on her shoe and apologized right away. But this woman wouldn’t let it go and kept cursing at my friend. Don’t you think someone like that deserves to be slapped?"
"Even if she deserved it, her family should be the ones to discipline her. You don’t have the right to hit someone just because you feel like it," the man retorted, his tone still calm but razor-sharp.
Lin Guo’er was momentarily at a loss for words. She knew she had been impulsive, but that woman had just been so infuriating.
Just then, Shen Yanxia shot Lin Guo’er a scornful, spiteful look, an infuriatingly smug expression on her face.
Seeing this, Lin Guo’er’s face flushed with fury, and she said through gritted teeth, "I won’t apologize!"
"If that’s the case, then it seems I have no choice but to let Yanxia slap you in return," the man said with a smile. He glanced at Shen Yanxia beside him and added with a laugh, "Yanxia, go on then. Hit her back the same way she hit you."
