Chapter 450: Waiting to Arrive
"Don’t worry, it’s nothing, just a minor issue," Lin Kuang said with a smile. "Shilin, honey, hurry up and cook. You can’t fight a war on an empty stomach."
Hearing this, Liu Shilin smiled and nodded. "Okay, I’ll go cook."
Lin Guo’er rolled her eyes at them helplessly before following Liu Shilin into the kitchen. Watching the two women go, Lin Kuang chuckled and sat on the sofa, quietly contemplating.
It’s about time I start thinking about striking back. These people are like flies... so annoying.
Lin Kuang muttered to himself, his tone unable to hide the murderous intent within. As he was thinking, his phone rang again. He pulled it out and saw that the caller was none other than Yang Wucheng.
Lin Kuang quickly answered, "Hello, Uncle Yang."
"They’ve arrived, five of them. They just left East Sea Airport, and it looks like they’re headed your way," Yang Wucheng said, his voice filled with anger. "These people are so arrogant, daring to make a move in broad daylight! Do they have no regard for the law? These Ancient Martial Arts families truly disregard secular laws. It’s infuriating."
"Oh? They’ve come? Excellent. I’ve been waiting for them. They’ve finally arrived," Lin Kuang said calmly. His lips even curved into a faint smile, but his gaze was icy cold.
"Be careful, and remember to inform me if anything happens," Yang Wucheng added before hanging up.
Lin Kuang put away his phone and walked out of the main hall to stand in the manor grounds. It wasn’t even five-thirty in the afternoon, and the weather was beautiful and sunny.
"Such lovely weather," Lin Kuang commented with a laugh, looking up at the azure sky. "It’s really not suitable for killing, is it?"
As he spoke, his gaze settled on the main gate. He stood there calmly, waiting for Chen Zhongyu and his men to arrive.
Time trickled by. Half an hour later, Lin Kuang heard the roar of an engine, and the smile on his lips widened. "Have they arrived?"
No sooner had he spoken than a Hummer pulled up to the manor’s gate. The next moment, the car door opened, and a middle-aged man stepped out, followed by four other men.
Seeing this, Lin Kuang’s gaze hardened. The man before him was strong—stronger than any opponent he had ever faced.
At that moment, Chen Zhongyu also saw Lin Kuang. His expression briefly froze when he saw him standing there, but it was quickly replaced by a cold smirk.
"Lin Kuang?"
"Correct. Chen Zhongyu?"
"Yes, that’s me," Chen Zhongyu said with a smile as he walked forward.
"You’re a little earlier than I expected. The Chen Family is impressively efficient," Lin Kuang said with a laugh, his tone perfectly calm.
Hearing this, Chen Zhongyu’s eyebrows twitched, a flash of anger in his eyes. "Are you provoking me?"
Lin Kuang shrugged and smiled. "You can think of it that way if you like."
Chen Zhongyu’s expression darkened, and he spoke in a cold voice, "Very well. The Chen Family has stood tall for many years, and this isn’t the first time we’ve been challenged. Do you want to know what happened to those people?"
"Not interested. I don’t care to hear about the glorious deeds of your Chen Family. They’re useless to me," Lin Kuang said disdainfully.
Seeing Lin Kuang’s dismissive attitude, anger surged within Chen Zhongyu. This man was arrogant, unbelievably so, and Chen Zhongyu hated it.
"Lin Kuang, a life for a life, a debt for a debt. Today, I am here to claim your life!" Chen Zhongyu declared. As he spoke, a powerful murderous intent burst forth from him, instantly enveloping Lin Kuang.
Feeling this pressure, Lin Kuang’s gaze filled with scorn.
"You dare threaten my life with a murderous intent that lacks any real Killing Intent? Chen Zhongyu, aren’t you being a little too arrogant?!" Lin Kuang said, his voice like ice.
The next moment, a terrifying murderous intent exploded from Lin Kuang. A dense Killing Intent erupted from him, effortlessly scattering Chen Zhongyu’s hollow murderous intent. At this moment, Lin Kuang was like the Grim Reaper emerging from Hell, his murderous intent cold to the extreme.
Feeling the power radiating from Lin Kuang, Chen Zhongyu’s face paled. Lin Kuang’s murderous intent was suffused with true Killing Intent. It was a terrifying power that could only be condensed after slaughtering countless people.
In this, Chen Zhongyu had to admit he was no match for Lin Kuang. Although he had killed people before, the gap between them was simply too vast.
"Hmph! What good is murderous intent alone? Real strength is what matters most!" Chen Zhongyu snorted, clearly displeased by Lin Kuang’s display.
Upon hearing this, Lin Kuang couldn’t help but smirk slightly. "Oh? I’m quite confident I can kill you. What about you? Bringing four lackeys along... does that mean you lack the confidence to defeat me? Or do you know you’re going to die, so you brought four men to carry your corpse?"
Hearing Lin Kuang’s arrogant words, Chen Zhongyu’s eyes blazed with fury. However, before he could speak, one of the men behind him stepped forward angrily.
"Fourth Uncle, why use a butcher’s cleaver to kill a chicken? I can handle this trash myself!" the presumptuous man declared.
Chen Zhongyu paused. That’s true. I don’t really know how strong Lin Kuang is. He killed Third Brother, but I didn’t see it happen. It’s not a bad idea to let Chen Guang test the waters; after all, the kid is quite strong himself.
Thinking this, Chen Zhongyu nodded. "Fine, Chen Guang, this kid is yours. Don’t be careless."
Hearing Chen Zhongyu agree, a look of joy flashed in Chen Guang’s eyes. "Alright! Rest assured, Fourth Uncle. I’ll definitely kill him!" he said excitedly.
With that, the young man turned and fixed his gaze on Lin Kuang. "Brat, you’re courting death by crossing the Chen Family! To deal with trash like you, my Fourth Uncle doesn’t need to lift a finger. I alone am more than enough!"
Lin Kuang shook his head with a look of pity. "Anyone can talk a big game, but that’s all you can do—talk."
Hearing Lin Kuang’s words, Chen Guang’s face turned ugly. Among the younger generation, his strength was considered top-tier. Being humiliated like this was more than he could bear.
"You’re too arrogant, kid! Now, die!" Chen Guang roared.
The next moment, he waved his palms and charged forward.
Seeing this, Lin Kuang sneered. "To deal with you, one punch is all I need!"
With that, Lin Kuang shot forward like lightning, his right fist lashing out.
Chen Guang didn’t even try to dodge. He moved his hands, attempting to block the attack with Tai Chi. He had greatly underestimated Lin Kuang.
And the price for underestimating Lin Kuang was death.
