Unrivaled Soldier in the City

Chapter 445: A Foodie

"You... you... you unreasonable bastard!" Yao Wenwen shouted angrily.

"Calm down, calm down. We’re civilized people, there’s no need to get worked up," Lin Kuang couldn’t help but say.

"Hmph! A wise woman doesn’t stoop to arguing with a man. I can’t be bothered with you," Yao Wenwen said hatefully. This bastard was just too infuriating; it was impossible to communicate with him.

"Alright, you all go and rest. I just need some time to myself," Lin Kuang said with a smile.

Seeing this, Lin Guo’er and Liu Shilin didn’t say anything more and simply led Yao Wenwen and Xu Yingying upstairs.

After the four women left, Lin Kuang pulled out a pack of cigarettes he hadn’t touched in a long time. He drew one out and began to smoke quietly.

The Nameless Elder, the Nameless Sword, the Slash Path Sword, treasures, a Martial Arts Manual... it all seems so complicated, Lin Kuang mused.

He still couldn’t understand why that Nameless Elder wanted to give him the Nameless Sword. After all, spending tens of millions to acquire the sword was practically the same as being given it for free, especially considering its immense value. Forget tens of millions. Even a hundred million would be dirt cheap for it.

As he smoked, Lin Kuang frowned, his mood souring. Could the Nameless Elder have foreseen something? Is that why he gifted the Nameless Sword to me? Or maybe... he has some ulterior motive?

Sigh... forget it. There’s no point in dwelling on it. The clues are too sparse. I couldn’t figure it out even if I tried, he muttered to himself.

With that thought, Lin Kuang finished his cigarette, went upstairs, took a shower, and returned to Liu Shilin’s room.

Liu Shilin was still awake. Seeing Lin Kuang return, she couldn’t help but smile.

"My dear Shilin, how about we do what lovers do?" Lin Kuang said with a mischievous grin, pinning her beneath him.

At five o’clock sharp the next morning, Lin Kuang woke up and went straight to the bathroom. After a quick wash, he changed his clothes, got in his car, and drove to Yang Ruoxi’s home.

By then, Yang Ruotong and Yang Ruoxi were already awake, and little Xinxin was running around cheerfully.

Seeing Lin Kuang arrive, little Xinxin immediately ran over. "Good morning, Uncle! I haven’t seen you for days. I missed you so much!" she chirped with a giggle.

Lin Kuang swept her up into his arms and planted two big kisses on her adorable face, which sent the little girl into a fit of giggles.

After chatting with Xinxin for a bit, Lin Kuang followed Yang Ruoxi upstairs. He was a little worried, as it had been a while since he had last checked the Extreme Yin Cold Qi in her body.

Sitting cross-legged on the familiar bed, Lin Kuang’s Utmost Yang True Qi swiftly poured into Yang Ruoxi’s body. To his surprise, in the time he hadn’t transferred any True Qi to her, the power of Tai Chi had already absorbed most of the Extreme Yin Cold Qi in her body. Even without his help, her body was on its way to a full recovery.

Seeing this made Lin Kuang’s mood soar. He hadn’t expected the power of Tai Chi to be so effective; it was absolutely incredible.

Half an hour later, Lin Kuang withdrew his palm and said with a smile, "Ruoxi, your recovery is going exceptionally well. There’s hardly any Extreme Yin Cold Qi left in your body. Let’s go down and practice for a bit. You’ve improved a lot lately."

Hearing his words, Yang Ruoxi smiled, also in a very good mood. "Of course. My progress has been very fast," she said with a beaming, slightly proud smile.

"Is that so? Then I’ll have to test you," Lin Kuang said with a laugh, finding her proud expression adorable.

"Bring it on! I’m not afraid of you!" Yang Ruoxi huffed.

The two of them went downstairs and out onto the lawn beyond the manor. They both began to practice their Tai Chi, launching into a sparring match.

During the fight, Lin Kuang could feel how much Yang Ruoxi’s strength had grown. The speed of her progress was terrifying. Of course, there was no chance of her actually defeating him; the gap between their abilities was simply too wide.

Lin Kuang managed to slap her rear several times, causing the young woman’s face to flush crimson. She bit her lip and glared at him fiercely. Seeing this, Lin Kuang just burst into joyous laughter, which only made Yang Ruoxi grind her teeth in frustration.

After their match ended, Lin Kuang didn’t stay for a meal but drove back to Lin Guo’er’s house instead.

When he arrived, Liu Shilin was in the kitchen cooking with Lin Guo’er helping. As for Xu Yingying and Yao Wenwen, they were sitting on the sofa, since they were both useless in a kitchen.

Seeing the two women on the sofa, Lin Kuang greeted them with a smile, "Morning, Sis Yingying, Demoness."

"Morning, Little Kuang," Xu Yingying replied with a smile.

Yao Wenwen just snorted and ignored him.

Unbothered by her attitude, Lin Kuang plopped down on the sofa next to Xu Yingying. "So what are your plans? Are you heading straight back?" he asked with a smile.

"Yes, if nothing else comes up, we plan to head back today. Aren’t you going back to Yanjing for a visit? I heard Grandpa Lin misses you a lot," Xu Yingying asked.

Hearing this, Lin Kuang paused for a moment before shaking his head. "We’ll see. I don’t really feel like going back just yet," he said, a hint of bitterness in his voice. It wasn’t that he didn’t want to go back. He just wasn’t ready.

"Alright then. Remember to contact me when you get back to Yanjing," Xu Yingying said with a smile. "A lot of the old gang misses you. If they knew you were here, they’d probably rush over in a heartbeat."

"Of course. If I go back, I’ll have to look you up, Sis Yingying. That’s your turf, after all," Lin Kuang said with a grin.

"Don’t be ridiculous. That’s hardly my turf. In Yanjing, your name carries way more weight than mine. I’m just a humble girl," Xu Yingying said with mock annoyance, playfully ruffling his hair.

"That’s not true. The city is full of people way more powerful than me," Lin Kuang whined plaintively.

"Alright, enough of your act," Xu Yingying said, tapping him lightly on the head.

Just then, Lin Guo’er emerged from the kitchen carrying a platter. "Ladies, dinner is served! Come and taste our Shilin’s cooking!" she called out cheerfully.

"Mmm, that smells wonderful," Yao Wenwen piped up with a smile.

Hearing her, Lin Kuang muttered under his breath, So she’s a foodie.

Although his voice was low, with Yao Wenwen’s level of strength, she heard him crystal clear.

"You bastard! What’s wrong with being a foodie? If you have a problem with it, then don’t eat!" she snapped, glaring at him in dissatisfaction.

"Uh, what’s the connection between being a foodie and me not eating?" Lin Kuang asked with an aggrieved look.

Yao Wenwen froze, her face flushing red. Faced with his question, she honestly had no idea how to answer. Cheeks burning, she shot Lin Kuang a fierce glare and turned away. If she couldn’t come up with a retort, silence was the next best thing.
