Chapter 391: Demonstration!
"A bunch of mongrels!" Han Zongwei erupted in fury.
Long Chen had already hogged the spotlight, which was frustrating enough. But now, even his own followers were running over to fawn over Long Chen? This was a blatant slap in the face. How could he show his face now?
The thought made Han Zongwei seethe with anger.
"Who would have thought! This kid actually has the young master’s backing!" Han Zongwei’s gaze locked onto Long Chen, a deep chill emanating from his eyes. "I will settle this score personally!"
With those words, he vanished.
Meanwhile, Long Chen perfunctorily brushed off the people fawning over him.
He saw right through them. When you were in a bad spot, they would kick you while you were down. But the moment they saw you had backing, they would cling to you as if you were old friends, showering you with endless flattery.
Afterward, Long Chen, Long Xin, and Tang Le arrived at the dormitories arranged by the Jinglei Sect. They each had their own room, all adjacent to one another in the same row.
Just as they arrived, they found bedding piled up in front of their doors, covered in muddy footprints. Nearby living supplies had also been smashed and ruined. The entire new disciple dormitory area had been utterly trashed by the senior Jinglei Sect disciples.
Five senior Jinglei Sect disciples were standing amidst the chaos, led by none other than Han Zongwei.
"Senior Brother, we haven’t offended you. Why are you causing trouble at the new disciples’ quarters?" Qi Yuanchen asked, his eyes narrowing as he stared coldly at Han Zongwei.
"I heard you newcomers are quite impressive, so I came to see for myself," Han Zongwei said with a sneer. "You don’t look convinced?"
The other four seniors also laughed mockingly, their arrogance on full display.
"Of course we’re not convinced!" Qi Yuanchen and the others shot back.
Zhang Cangsong, however, was hiding in a corner. He didn’t dare say a word, his eyes darting about as if scheming something.
"Oh? Not convinced?" Han Zongwei raised an eyebrow. "If anyone isn’t convinced, beat them until they are!"
"No problem!"
At Han Zongwei’s command, the four senior disciples launched themselves at Qi Yuanchen and the other newcomers.
"We fight back!"
"We won’t let them bully us!"
Filled with rage, Qi Yuanchen and his group met the attack head-on.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
A series of muffled thuds echoed as the conflict exploded with startling intensity. Even by teaming up, Qi Yuanchen and the others were no match for the seniors. The seniors were not only stronger but also had superior numbers. These freshly-arrived disciples stood no chance.
In a matter of moments, the seniors had overwhelmed Qi Yuanchen’s group. They were left bruised and swollen on the ground, wailing in agony.
Among the new disciples, only Zhang Cangsong remained standing.
WHOOSH!
In the next instant, all eyes fell on him.
Zhang Cangsong’s heart trembled violently.
He knew how formidable these seniors were; even two of him wouldn’t stand a chance. Seeing the other new disciples lying on the ground, their faces battered and bruised as they cried out in pain, made his heart clench with fear. He definitely didn’t want to end up like them.
Seeing the seniors about to turn on him, Zhang Cangsong was terrified. He quickly bowed, a fawning smile plastered on his face. "Brother Han, I am completely and utterly convinced! I know you are all far too powerful for us new disciples to provoke. That’s why I didn’t dare make a move just now."
As he spoke, he didn’t forget to belittle the others. "These idiots have no sense. How dare they offend you? They’re just ignorant fools who got exactly what they deserved."
"Zhang Cangsong, you’re supposed to be one of us! Now that someone’s pissing on our heads, you’re actually going to lick it up?"
"Disgusting! What a sissy!"
"..."
Enraged by Zhang Cangsong’s despicable behavior, Qi Yuanchen and the others couldn’t hold back their fury and began to curse him.
"You bastards!" Zhang Cangsong roared, spinning on them. "Shut your mouths! When did I give you the right to criticize my actions? You don’t know a damn thing! You’re just a handful of new disciples, and you dare fight Brother Han and his men? You don’t even have the right! I’m simply a wise man who adapts to the circumstances!"
Qi Yuanchen and the others sneered at his words. They had seen many shameless people, but they had never encountered someone as brazen as Zhang Cangsong.
Only Han Zongwei burst out laughing.
He looked at Zhang Cangsong and asked nonchalantly, "What’s your name?"
Zhang Cangsong hurriedly responded, "Brother Han, my name is Zhang Cangsong, from the Zhang Family down the mountain."
"Oh, so you’re from the Zhang Family." Han Zongwei nodded. "Not bad. Your Zhang Family certainly produced a cunning one in you."
"Alright. Seeing as you put on a decent show, I’ll let you off the hook this time."
Zhang Cangsong’s heart leaped with joy as he breathed a sigh of relief. "Thank you, Brother Han!"
"Get lost," Han Zongwei spat. "Don’t be an eyesore."
"Understood! Understood..." Zhang Cangsong nodded repeatedly like a sycophantic dog and scurried to the side, not daring to get any closer.
He’d finally managed to draw a line between himself and them; he didn’t want to get dragged back in.
Han Zongwei strode forward, his arrogance palpable, and called out to the six new disciples on the ground, "Anyone who still isn’t convinced can stand up. I’ll beat you until you are!"
Qi Yuanchen’s brow furrowed. Despite the intense pain, he gritted his teeth and struggled back to his feet.
Seeing someone still so foolishly defiant, Han Zongwei’s expression tightened. He waved his hand and barked, "Beat him! Beat him until he submits!"
"Yes, Brother Han!"
At his command, the four senior disciples instantly locked their sights on Qi Yuanchen. Their figures flashed as they attacked him once more.
Seeing this, Qi Yuanchen quickly raised his arms to defend himself!
BANG! BANG! BANG!
Outnumbered, Qi Yuanchen was sent flying like a kite with a snapped string. He crashed hard onto the floor and spat out a mouthful of blood.
Han Zongwei laughed wildly. "Anyone else?"
At that moment, all the new disciples looked at one another, fear reflected in their eyes. None of them dared to stand up to Han Zongwei. No one dared to make a sound.
Seeing this, Han Zongwei smiled with satisfaction.
One of the senior disciples asked, "Brother Han, what’s next?"
Han Zongwei replied, "No rush. There are still three who haven’t been dealt with. We’ll wait for them here."
The words had barely left his mouth when a voice rang out from nearby. "The people you’re waiting for are right here!"
