Island God: Going From Level 1 To World Ruler

Chapter 129: Perfectly To Plan

"Holy shit!" Toshy couldn’t help but blurt out in shock after seeing the Water Drake. He shouted, but in a whisper. He didn’t want Midas to hear him, after all.

"I’m surprised as well," Urus replied, his eyes wide with awe as he stared at the serpent, "A true breed of Water Drake is impossibly rare. They are immensely powerful, but more than that, their ability to speak and think intelligently gives them a dangerous potential. This one is fully grown on top of that... I wonder where in the world they found this drake..."

"Indeed. Midas may be powerful, but to take on such a beast... it would require an army of its own. Without the help of his army, he won’t be able to win. And that means his forces will be weakened..." Toshy replied, a cunning smirk growing on his face.

"Our plan is going perfectly to plan, friend!" Urus chuckled quietly.

Midas glanced to the side for a split second, as if he heard something in the distance.

Shrugging the thought off, he glanced back at the serpent before him.

"Do you wish to challenge a beast as grand as I!?" The drake roared, its tail rising up and smashing against the water to cause ripples of large waves.

’Scan.’ Midas thought inwardly, his expression nonchalant. "Believe it or not, I’ve bested Water Drake’s that are far larger than your size... lizard," Midas said aloud with a smirk.

’Let me rile the fucker up a bit. Won’t hurt, since fighting an emotional opponent is surely going to be easier than a calm and collected one.’ Midas thought inwardly.

His scan order was quickly processed.

’Instinct!?’ Midas’s eyebrows raised a bit, ’I haven’t seen that before. Since Sergalas is Dominion Tier at level 80 plus, then 60 and above must be Instinct Tier.’ Midas surmised. It was only a guess, but it was still handy to keep track of.

Midas clasped hard on the hilts of his Black Reapers.

"Don’t spout lies, human!" Vipenios’s voice sounded like the screeching of violin chords. With a deep inhale, he unleashed a blast of water traveling at a very fast speed.

The kinetic energy in the water allowed the force to be no less than being hit head-on by a speeding semi-truck.

’My stats, due to the Nine-Breath Circulation, are even more superior to this beasts. Apart from speed, I am on par, if not above it!’ Midas mused, lunging into a sprint as he ran across the side of the shoreline.

The beam of water traveled behind, thrashing the shore as it went.

However, Midas was not fast enough to avoid the attack for long. Soon, the water blast caught up with him.

But this only caused the young man to smirk. He stopped in place, suddenly diving into the water.

Within seconds, Midas found himself deep in the depths of the pond.

Everything was dark, but due to the dim light cast from the surface, his eyes could see extremely clearly. It was as if darkness barely even played a factor in the clarity of his vision.

Vipenios dove down into the water, eager to catch his prey.

Midas saw the enormous serpent swim toward him underwater. The drake slithered left and right, a freaky and terrifying scene to observe.

"The gravest mistake you could have made was jumping into the water, fool! This is my home! I can easily outmaneuver and defeat you in all conceivable ways!" The serpent roared underwater.

Midas, however, had no fear. He held his blades in front of him as the serpent approached.

Vipenios arrived before the player, opening his maw wide before clamping down and swallowing Midas whole in a single bite...

’What a fool!’ The serpent thought with eagerness, ’The way he floated there... careless. I almost thought he might have had something hidden. Some trick to defeat me. But I was mistaken... I don’t need to overestimate such peons... especially not in my own domain of water.’ He was greatly pleased.

But then, the serpent felt an odd sensation deep within his stomach. At first, it felt like tickling.

But then, the sensations quickly developed into streaking lines of pain that shot through his internal stomach lining.

It was as if someone was scratching the inside of his organs with a needle over and over again.

The serpent writhed in pain, soaring up and breaking through the surface of the water.

"Look!" Urus said, "It’s there! It arose!"

"Where is he!? The player!? Has he already been consumed!?" Toshy said, curious and wary.

"It wouldn’t surprise me," Urus replied, anticipation rising.

Suddenly, Vipenios faced the sky and let out a blood-curdling roar.

"There! It’s celebrating with a war cry! It must have already eaten that guy." Toshy said, shocked. He didn’t expect Midas to somehow defeat the serpent, especially after he jumped into the water.

But now, his plan was foiled.

Urus, on the other hand, remained silent. He gazed at the serpent’s expression with furrowed eyebrows.

’No... that serpent isn’t prideful or boasting. Far from it... it looks to be in... severe discomfort!’ He thought, confused.

As they continued to stare at the head of the serpent, a splash of blood suddenly erupted from the top of the beast’s skull!

Midas tore through the Water Drake’s temple with a series of full-force slashes, jumping up into the open air before landing atop the serpent’s nose.

As Midas landed on the tip of the serpent’s nose, the dead beast’s corpse quickly folded and plunged into the lake below.

By this point, the battle with Memphis and Klein’s army had also been wrapped up.

On Midas’s side, not a single loss had occurred.

Both Urus and Toshy were in shock. They could not believe the scene that just unfolded before their very eyes.

"W-what the fuck?" Toshy said, at a loss.

"Did he just... slash his way through the body of a Water Drake after being consumed?" Urus uttered, his knees nearly buckling underneath him.

But then, a smirk appeared, "Good... this is great!" He shouted.

Toshy glanced at his partner with a confused look.

"Great!?" He said skeptically. "What’s so great about your prey being so damn strong!?"

Urus didn’t stop smiling, "The stronger, the better. That means he will get more stuff for us to steal. Hahaha! Don’t forget, Toshy. Our abilities combined allow us to defeat almost any opponent. Strength and fighting alone aren’t all-powerful!"

Toshy was taken aback for a bit, but then his frown turned to a smile as well.

"You’re right... We are even more set now! In fact, things are going just perfectly according to plan!" The fat man said, rubbing his palms together.
