Chapter 743 - 114: Wake-Up Call (Part 4)
Ragnar revealed a smile, he knew the name of this elf now, the detestable fellow mentioned by those Immortal Spirits must be this Pick Elf.
"I’ll do my best, but this shouldn’t depend on me," Ragnar said with a smile.
"That’s good," the Pick Elf beamed, but Riven suddenly furrowed her brows, asking in confusion, "How did you know Karon was here? Karon only slept for two months, everyone thought Karon was still in the castle, did a traitor tell you..."
The Frost Giant shook his head and softly said, "A legend doesn’t rely on appearance and aura to find their target. Even if I told you, you wouldn’t understand, but I just know Emperor Gogomola is here."
"Alright, alright," the Little Pick Elf folded her arms, her colorful wings fluttering as she turned, "Follow me then, King of Frost Giants. This path must be led by me, Karon has a temper when waking up, and I must be the one to wake him up, otherwise, he can be terrifying when angry."
"Thank you, kind elf, you don’t seem as detestable as those Immortal Spirits said," Ragnar said as he kept pace with the Pick Elf.
"Hmph, I just used the magic Karon taught me to summon some labor to work for me, and I even offered rewards. But once they arrived, they refused to work or return to their homeland, how can you blame me?"
Pikku Fairy Riven chastised, "These lazy Immortal Spirits, so used to a leisurely life, they need a good reformation!"
Ragnar shook his head, listening to the Little Elf’s endless complaints, he arrived at the highest peak, in front of what seemed like a Divine Hall suspended above the earth.
Two enormous warrior statues guarded the sides of the Divine Hall, standing on stone platforms, holding shields and swords, wearing stone helmets, lifelike.
Upon seeing the Frost Giant King, the two enormous thirty-meter-high stone warrior statues abruptly lowered their heads to look at Ragnar.
Pikku Fairy Riven hurriedly stopped the animation of the statues, calming the massive stone warriors down.
Ragnar stood at the towering Divine Hall, looking along with the Pick Elf’s form.
The floor of the Divine Hall was dark red, flowing like a soft, smooth fire stream. Inserted upside-down in the center were several longswords, standing straight like ancient crooked trees, shrouded in mysterious runes.
Around these few Divine Swords lay countless colossal creature bones, not even the erosion from magma and fire elements had diminished the mountainous bone forest.
The walls on both sides of the Divine Hall were filled with murals depicting volcanic cliffs and Abyssal Hell.
Waves of copious fire elements and magma flowed from the Abyssal Hell crack on the mural into the Divine Hall’s floor, only to be completely absorbed by the ground moments later.
Ragnar could even see some active Fire Spirits through the cracks in the Divine Hall’s walls, attracted by the dense fire element presence here.
But the Pick Elf flew to the few Divine Swords inserted upside-down in the center of the hall, gently tapping the sword’s pinnacle.
Clang, clang, clang,
"Karon, wake up, it’s time to get up," Riven shouted while tapping.
After a brief silence, a great sound arose.
Boom!
The floor of the entire Divine Hall arched up with immense power, those inserted in the hall’s floor weren’t sharpened Divine Swords but a Giant Dragon’s horn.
The congealed dark red floor broke, and a colossal dragon head slowly lifted from the underground, countless lava shards and bones slipping off its head and body. Eyes as cold as a deep blue starry sky looked towards Frost Giant King Ragnar Heg outside the Hall.
No ferocious aura, no oppressive Dragon Power, yet the body of the Frost Giant King, endured by frost and wind in the Land of Frost for decades, felt an unprecedented chill for the first time.
It’s like glaciers frozen for millennia wedged into Ragnar Heg’s veins, turning his blood and bones into stiff ice blocks.
As the Giant Dragon’s head rose, flames were born within the Hall, spreading out from the dragon’s body.
The outermost flames interweaved red and orange, transitioning to yellow, followed by white flames.
The pale flames already slightly stung the Frost Giant King’s eyes, but the green and blue flames beyond, purely by temperature, made Ragnar feel some danger.
The inner purple flames and the flames surrounding the center edge of the dragon’s head are colors invisible to the mortals’ naked eyes. To Ragnar, they continuously changed colors, yet the temperature of these flames already posed a lethal threat.
But these sensory flames paled in comparison to the dragon’s gaze.
Under this dragon’s gaze, Ragnar felt a sense of helplessness as a low-level creature facing a higher being, not dragon’s suppression over ordinary creatures.
"Have you reached this level?" Ragnar said hoarsely; this was a divine-like quality, far superior to any mundane creature’s inherent traits, even the mighty bloodline of a Frost Giant seemed ant-like before these eyes.
"Mmm," the dragon slightly shook its head. The terrifying gaze rapidly diminished after several rapid blinks, revealing its original bright red and crystalline appearance.
"Not at all, I’m merely simulating exploration, searching for the path best suited for me,"
The dragon spoke, its deep Dragon Language unexpectedly imparting an unimaginable warmth to Ragnar.
Whoosh, the enormous Red Dragon crawled slowly from beneath the Divine Hall floor, a tremendous amount of lava flowing down its scales, losing all heat and energy before reaching the ground, turning into a dark red pliant structure.
Under the Ancestral Red Dragon’s extraction, even this violent volcano lost its explosive power. Now the core deep energy no longer possessed the ability to erupt because that energy had long been depleted.
"Mmm, I remember, I once said you were allowed to come and challenge me," Karon Gogomola raised his head, all flames instantly subsided, even the Pickku Little Elf Riven wrapped in flames was grasped in his paw.
"In that case, let me ask you, Ragnar Heg, what do you think is your greatest strength?" Karon Gogomola gently held Riven, asking the Frost Giant King.
"My greatest strength," Ragnar furrowed his brow, thinking for a long moment before answering, "Of course, it’s my physique, the power brought by my frost giant blood and body tempered by the elements is the strongest!"
"Mmm, I must awaken you!" The Ancestral Red Dragon’s pupils lit up, slowly saying, "I must not waste your potential, I will defeat you in what you deem the strongest power."
Boom!
The colossal dragon claw suddenly descended upon the Frost Giant King, as if the ancient Divine Mountain was collapsing.
Amidst the true dragon’s grasp, a spiritual lock enveloped the four corners of the world, the cosmos and time, locking onto the Frost Giant’s spirit, making Ragnar feel as if that dragon claw eclipsed the world’s view.
"If I don’t use my full strength, I will die here!"
A sense of fatal threat made Ragnar let out a massive roar.
The Frost Giant King’s enormous arm drew out the Legendary Battleaxe from his back, the matchless power making the Frost Giant’s vessels nearly burst, muscles bulging like pythons coiling, rock slabs beneath feet harder than granite were instantly pulverized by his immense power.
The descending Battleaxe, like the Giant God’s Axe cleaving the Divine Mountain, smashed onto the sky-holding crimson dragon claw.
Boom! In the deafening explosion.
The silhouette of the Frost Giant King Ragnar was suddenly blown away, almost disappearing without a trace.
