Beneath the Red Dragon

Generally speaking, regardless of whether they know the truth, every juvenile Giant Dragon will instinctively attempt to establish a nest in places with Magic resonance.

At the center of this nest is the intersection of multiple lines of flowing Magic Energy.

Ordinarily, a regular Giant Dragon can only create a vast nesting effect after reaching maturity, much like how a White Dragon’s close connection with the Material Plane’s structure requires a long development time.

An ordinary White Dragon might even need to spend nearly a century in its nest before the Giant Dragon’s power manifests in the world.

But in Ragnar’s perception, all the Magic Elemental Energy on this Dome Peak must flow through the central point of the Dragon Nest on the Dome Peak.

The white clouds floating in the sky coalesce into the face of a colossal dragon in Ragnar’s eyes, giving him the impression that a Giant Dragon is watching over the visitors.

But Ragnar knows this is just one of the diffused effects of the Ancestral Red Dragon, just like the sudden dragon reflection skimming the calm surface of the lake before him, which vanishes instantly upon Ragnar’s closer inspection.

The nesting effects of these areas endow dragons with extraordinary Magic Abilities, much like how a Golden Dragon can enter the dreams of creatures sleeping near its nest.

A Green Dragon around its nest cannot be tracked, nor can it be prophesied by Divination Skills.

Moreover, every dragon can perceive the death of nearby creatures within its nest and can glimpse the last moments of their lives through the eyes of the deceased.

This is why many Dragon Slayer Teams must have a Master of Concealment and shadow-powered Wanderer companions; these creatures living around the dragon’s nest are both obstacles and the dragon’s alarm system.

Most importantly, if a dragon’s name is spoken within a certain distance around the dragon’s nest, even if just in the whisper of a creature, the dragon can immediately sense it.

And for a considerable period afterward, the dragon can hear the words of everyone within a small range around the person who spoke the dragon’s true name.

Thus, the Frost Giant King loudly declared the name of the Ancestral Red Dragon, "Karon Gogomola, I, Ragnar Heg, have come to challenge you!"

Challenging a dragon near its nest is a highly unwise action, but Ragnar Heg doesn’t worry about this, not only because of an old promise from the Ancestral Red Dragon, which made the Frost Giant believe the words of the Ancestral Red Dragon.

It is also because of Ragnar’s view of the Ancestral Red Dragon, who will not rely on additional powers to subdue him, for this Ancestral Red Dragon is truly powerful.

Ragnar’s voice echoed afar over the mountain top.

The supernatural fog enveloping the entire mountain peak began to dissipate, revealing a clear and distinct path, allowing the Frost Giant to enter.

Ragnar stepped into the fog and entered a new world.

The beasts and monsters drinking the lake water at the lakeside, under the long-term influence of the dragon’s domain, had begun transforming into Half-Dragons, enabling these creatures to consume what appeared to be clear lake water.

Yet, the Frost Giant knew that if ordinary creatures drank from these waters, they would be tainted by the dragon’s power, bewitched, or undergo other mutations; even Ragnar would not dare to drink the water from this place.

But the Frost Giant’s gaze was drawn to the buildings standing in the distance like a forest of palaces.

After the Ancestral Red Dragon entrusted Fire Dwarves with managing its nest, the entire vast area atop the peak was neatly organized by these Fire Dwarves.

The Fire Dwarves used High-Energy Propellant produced by the Imperial to blast the jagged mountain stones into dust, creating a series of flat platforms.

These platforms, rising and falling orderly, surround the Magma Lake opening like a dammed terrain, connected by wide stone staircases, with countless pavilions carved from boulders atop them.

The original solid mountain body formed by the Ancestral Red Dragon’s power and the nesting domain was excavated to build a classical and grand Ancient Rome-style domed Divine Hall, under the orders of the Fire Dwarves overseeing the Giants.

However, to facilitate the Ancestral Red Dragon’s entry and exit, this massive Ancient Rome-style Divine Hall was constructed particularly wide, with front pillars at least a hundred meters high, spaced one hundred and twenty meters apart.

Ragnar walked along the wide road, surrounded by lush and dense vegetation, all of which are precious Magic Plants.

He saw in the distant garden a Pick Elf commanding numerous creatures of the Elf Race to transplant many plants here, all precious Magic Plants excavated from the Ancestral Red Dragon’s Dragon Nest.

Many Magma Giants, born like the original Goliath Giants on high mountains, were seen walking in the mountains, obeying the commands of those Fire Dwarves, constructing vast stone edifices.

The wildfires on these Ancient Rome-style buildings’ sacred fire pits burn brightly, like bonfires in the Divine Hall, never extinguishing.

Tiny cracks are revealed on these Magma Giants’ stone-like bodies, with fire-red congealed magma flowing within them.

It seems that these Magma Giants were natural creatures born in this region due to the influence of the Ancestral Red Dragon.

When Ragnar reached the tall and raised Magma Lake Divine Hall, he was met by an imposing Pick Elf.

"Hey, big guy, I heard your voice. You’re here to challenge Karon, right?" The Pick Elf, with hands on hips and feigning confidence, loudly warned, "Don’t go damaging my flowers and plants. These precious plants are hard for me to take care of. If you damage any, you’ll have to compensate me with that axe on your back!"
