Game World: I Can Share Talents

Chapter 482 11: That Would Be Great

The power of a Celestial God was nearly omnipotent, but it had its limits. For the people of the Mortal World in particular, a rather vague and ambiguous line defined what a Celestial God could and could not do.

Supreme power was something Westheid had always coveted, so his understanding of the abilities of Celestial Gods was even more profound than that of Scholars who specialized in the subject.

When it came to the fundamental logic of the Poem of Destiny—matters of life, soul, and the distinction between Order and Chaos—the authority of a Celestial God was limited. They couldn't just do whatever they pleased in ways that defied imagination.

However, when it came to simple material alteration, transformation, and the shaping of or interference with spacetime, their capabilities were practically limitless. Every Celestial God was a supreme being who was, is, and forever will be across the timeline. They could play with it however they pleased.

In the past, however, the Celestial Gods kept each other in check and would never pull any outrageous stunts in the Mortal World. After all, the fundamental purpose of a Celestial God's birth and existence was to combat Chaos; creating and maintaining Order was the sole mission they were bound to follow.

Now that gods and mortals were separated, if a part of the Venerable Master of the Azure Heaven's essence was the only supreme being remaining in the Mortal World, then it wouldn't be impossible for him to ride the coattails of the Temporal Chaos to twist and reshape a sliver of spacetime.

'The question is... why would the Venerable Master of the Azure Heaven do this?'

'As the Divine Ancestor of the Celestial Vault Kingdom, if he could leave behind a contingency plan and preserve part of his essence in the Mortal World, then he should be setting things right. He should be rescuing the Celestial Vault Kingdom from the mire of Temporal Chaos it's trapped in. Even if he couldn't quell the cataclysm engulfing the entire Mortal World, stabilizing the situation should at least be a simple task.'

'Why is he holing himself up within the confines of the Crimson Throne to amuse himself? It's not like you've been brutally ravaged by Chaos!'

'Acting like this, can you still call yourself a proper Divine Ancestor?!'

Westheid was completely baffled, especially after seeing Wan Qi. 'Is she the Master of Extinction, unsealed? Or is she...' He dared not entertain the thought.

'Could it be that after Ascension, a Celestial God's personality would still be shackled by the emotions they held as a mortal?'

'Shouldn't such a being have transcended all worldly things? Not to say they lack emotions—of course Celestial Gods have them—but could those emotions truly influence a Celestial God?'

In any case, Westheid's first priority was to ascertain the nature of this spacetime. Whether it was to reclaim his power or to free the Master of Extinction, these were tasks that had to be accomplished.

Without a doubt, Wan Qi was the absolute center of this pocket of spacetime. Whatever he planned to do, revolving his actions around her was the correct path.

He just wasn't sure how to approach Wan Qi. She didn't appear to have any memories and perhaps wasn't a vessel for the will of the Venerable Master of the Azure Heaven.

'Of course, even if she were, it's not like I could tell right now,' he thought.

Westheid lay in bed all day, mulling over this serious problem. He considered countless possibilities before drifting off into a hazy sleep.

The next day at dawn, Westheid was awakened by the sound of singing. Getting out of bed, he followed the voice to its source.

In the Monastery's rear courtyard, Wan Qi was practicing her singing.

The white-haired girl wore an exquisite, elegant dress and a dark shawl. A black ribbon tied back a lock of her hair, perfectly accentuating her youthful and pure aura.

Wan Qi's eyes were closed, her fingers intertwined. A clear, timeless melody flowed from her throat, echoing around the Monastery.

Westheid watched from the side, mesmerized. Despite having the same appearance, the Wan Qi before him was vastly different from the Master of Extinction he had spent so long with in the Imaginary Space.

If the former was a sweet, pure, fairytale-like maiden, then the latter was a figure of profound sorrow and gravitas.

Duke Qinghui listened from the side until the song was finished, then couldn't help but applaud.

"Brava! That was beautiful! Absolutely divine!"

Pulled from her state of concentration, Wan Qi noticed him and offered a smiling bow.

"Thank you for the compliment. You've recovered so well already? You can get out of bed now?"

"Yes, I'm good as new. I could even handle strenuous exercise."

To demonstrate his recovery to Wan Qi, Westheid took off his shirt, baring his upper body. He was unaware that his perfect physique made the Miss Cultivator's eyes widen. She froze for a moment before hastily saying:

"I... I, oh! I'll go prepare breakfast!"

Wan Qi bit her tongue. Wincing in pain, she squeezed her eyes shut and scurried away.

「A short while later」

Westheid and Wan Qi sat at the long table in the Monastery's main hall, eating breakfast together.

Wan Qi stirred her porridge with a spoon, mentioning casually:

"Your memories..."

Westheid sighed. "I still can't remember anything. I'm afraid I can't go anywhere until my memories return."

The Miss Cultivator quickly replied, "That's alright. You can stay here for as long as you like."

'In fact, I hope you'll stay a little longer...'

Wan Qi's gaze fell to her feet, which were tracing circles on the floor, as she thought to herself.

'Whether this Wan Qi is putting on an act or is genuinely ignorant, I'll just assume for now that she's truly innocent.' And that was perfect. After all, everyone knew the methods of Duke Qinghui. When he set his mind to earning someone's affection, no one could escape his grasp.

Westheid probed, "The song you sang earlier was beautiful."

It wasn't a lie. 'Though it lacks the... piercing quality of the Master of Extinction's voice, it excels in its moving timbre and emotional depth.'

"Really?"

Wan Qi's eyes lit up, and she began to swing her legs happily.

"It is! My dream is to stand on the central stage of the Crimson Throne and let everyone hear my song!"

Westheid had learned this from Wan Qi's memories. She didn't want to be a Warrior or a Cultivator; her dream was to be a singer who could shine on stage. It was just that in the real Xuli, such a wish was impossible to fulfill.

Westheid played along. "Then you should go for it!"

Hearing this, Wan Qi shook her head with a wry smile. "I can't. The Monastery needs someone to look after it, so... I'd better not."

Seeing her reaction, Westheid didn't press the matter.

In the days that followed, Westheid remained with Wan Qi at the Monastery. Life there was quiet and simple, a routine of rising with the sun and resting at dusk.

Many of the Monastery's facilities were semi-automated, but maintaining the surrounding woods and buildings still required manual labor. As for supplies, drones delivered them. Though the Monastery was no longer considered important, it was still an official institution, and provisions from the Crimson Throne continued to arrive without fail.

And so, Westheid settled into a quiet life with Wan Qi at the Monastery.

Several months passed in this way, until the scene before his eyes once again blurred into nothingness.
