Game World: I Can Share Talents

Chapter 481 10: The Celestial God's Desired Timeline

Westheid was woken by a rich fragrance of fresh grass and medicinal balm. The warm, comfortable blankets made him want to never open his eyes again.

This led Duke Qinghui to sigh at how much his sleep quality had improved. 'Or perhaps,' he thought, 'a mortal body is simply this fragile. A little hardship, and it's already yearning for a soft bed.'

Westheid gave a self-deprecating smile and sat up in bed. The room appeared to be a standard guest room in a Monastery, fully furnished. A holy icon was carved into the wall.

'This holy icon... Just as I thought. It's the same as the one in the Monastery from Wan Qi's memories.'

'So I'm... '

"You're awake?"

Not long after Westheid awoke, he heard the door open. A girl with white hair and red eyes walked in, carrying a tray.

Wan Qi wore a dress with a cinched waist. The white top was detailed with gold thread, while the bottom half was a long, azure skirt, giving her a pure and elegant air.

Seeing the man was awake, Wan Qi's crimson eyes lit up. She immediately walked over, placed the tray on a small side table, and leaned closer.

"Don't rush to get up. Your body is recovering well. There aren't many signs of rejection, but you still need to rest for a few more days."

Hearing this, Westheid touched the wound on his abdomen and nodded.

"Thank you, Wan Qi."

"By the way, I've been meaning to ask, do you know me?"

The girl's clear, crimson eyes gazed quietly at the man with black hair and purple eyes. "This Monastery hasn't had a visitor in a very long time."

"I've been here before. I knew the names of the Cultivators here."

'Or to be precise, I came here *later*,'

Westheid added silently to himself.

"Oh, I see. My apologies, I must have forgotten you. We probably didn't meet back then, did we?"

Wan Qi sized up Westheid. 'There's no way I'd have no impression of someone so handsome.' The young woman's gaze didn't linger on his face, because whenever she met his deep, captivating, violet eyes, Wan Qi found herself unconsciously looking away.

'Oh no, he's way too handsome!'

'No, no, no! I can't keep staring at him. It's so impolite.'

Westheid observed Wan Qi's reaction intently, then suddenly said with a smile, "Perhaps we met in a past life, or in a dream."

"Ngh!!!"

Wan Qi's eyes shot open as she met the man's gaze, but she quickly shook her head.

Miss Cultivator patted her cheeks hard, trying her best to hide her flustered reaction, but she couldn't quell her rapidly beating heart.

"You... why would you say that..."

Seeing Wan Qi's flustered and innocent demeanor, Westheid found it a novel sight. The "her" in his memories and her form as the Master of Extinction had never shown such an expression—it would have been impossible for them.

Westheid placed a hand on his chest and continued,

"Because that is what I truly believe, Wan Qi. If you feel the same, then you should be able to say my name as well."

Wan Qi fidgeted. "How could I possibly know the name of someone I've just met…"

"It's alright. Just guess."

"Just do it as a favor to me," Westheid pressed on.

"Well… in that case…"

Miss Cultivator pursed her lips. After a long moment, she whispered,

"West…"

She might not have been trying to say that name, but the pronunciation was strikingly similar.

Upon hearing this, Westheid's eyes lowered, and he grew pensive.

'If this is a spacetime from tens of millions of years ago, created by Temporal Chaos, then this should be my first meeting with Wan Qi. A complete stranger couldn't possibly guess a name correctly by chance. The only other explanation would be some form of undisguisable divination.'

'I think I'm starting to understand my situation.'

So Westheid nodded at Wan Qi. "That's it."

"Huh?"

"Westheid Qinghui. That's my name,"

Westheid smiled.

Wan Qi glanced from side to side. After confirming he wasn't joking, she patted her chest and exclaimed,

"What an incredible coincidence."

"Unfortunately, that name seems to be the only thing I remember. Right now… I can't recall anything else."

Westheid pressed a hand to his head and frowned. He decided to pull an old trick: when in doubt, feign amnesia.

The girl with white hair and red eyes waved her hand dismissively and smiled. "Don't worry about it. You can stay here at the Monastery. It's our duty to help those who are lost and in need."

"Wouldn't I be too much of a bother?"

Wan Qi rested her chin in her hand and mumbled, "Not at all. It's not like I'm busy. I just watch over this Monastery all day. To be honest, it's been almost a year since I've seen anyone."

Westheid smiled and took the tray from her.

"Then I'll be in your care. Could you start by telling me about this country? I have some vague memories, but I can't be sure if they're real."

Wan Qi gave Westheid a look of pity. "Your memories are jumbled? That must be so painful. Leave it to me! I'll tell you everything I know."

What followed was a pleasant conversation between Westheid and Wan Qi. Completely unguarded, the pure and kind Miss Cultivator was skillfully manipulated by the wicked man into revealing everything she knew.

According to Wan Qi, she was the head Cultivator of this Monastery. The deity she served was still the Venerable Master of the Azure Heaven, a god fabricated by the Xuli People. In this day and age, however, very few people still worshipped this ancient superstition. Even the official government of Xuli was largely indifferent to the monastic orders.

Monasteries were being decommissioned one after another, leaving very few Cultivators who still served the Venerable Master of the Azure Heaven. Wan Qi was one of the last to remain at her post. After she was gone, it was likely this Monastery, too, would be abandoned.

As for Xuli… aside from the similar name, this nation was a far cry from the apocalyptic country in Westheid's memories, where every citizen was a soldier. The biggest difference was that this Xuli had not faced an apocalypse. Although the threat of Chaos still existed, the National Defense Army was more than enough to keep it at bay.

The Xuli People enjoyed lives of peace, tranquility, and prosperity.

They talked until evening. Only then did Wan Qi, who had other duties to attend to, reluctantly take her leave.

Once the young woman's figure had disappeared from the room, the smile on Westheid's face vanished instantly, and he sank into contemplation.

'Is this the "first meeting" in the past that Wan Qi was always talking about?'

'No, that's not right.'

'Too many things are different. According to Wan Qi's story, she was a High-tier Cultivator at the Monastery. Even if she's younger here, she should still be an important figure in the military.'

'But from the looks of it, this Wan Qi hasn't even enlisted? Westheid finally understood the source of his unease. The young woman before him had none of the bearing of a Warrior!'

'The gap between someone who's been to war and someone who hasn't—between a Powerhouse and a weakling—is wider than the one between a man and a dog.'

'Besides, that Monastery was located within the Floating City of the Steel Fortress, not out here in the desolate wilderness.'

'The Master of Extinction... is no longer answering my call. Has the connection been severed?'

Westheid gave a wry, knowing smile. "So this… this is the timeline the Venerable Master of the Azure Heaven wanted."
